It's my second visit here for a root canal. The care I received was wonderful. Everyone seemed very friendly, caring and thoughtful during my visit here. The dental assistant was very thorough, personable and seemed to be very good at what's she's doing. Dr. Walden provided me the care that I need, even if I have to admit I don't like dentists in general. I highly recommend this place for your endodontics care. I was very nervous going into this because it was my first root canal. The doc did a cold test on the tooth and when it caused me pain and I couldn't help but shed a few tears because of the pain and my anxiety of being there, he told me to calm down and left the room. If it wasn't for the incredible hygienist who stayed and sat with me and reassured me it would be ok, I would have left right then and there. I had two root canals and one re-do when the first grew back. I'm not a fan of this doc's chair side manner and the fact that I had to have a re-do on one, needless to say I was not impressed. Update- a few years later I may need to have the tooth removed because they also didn't give me antibiotics afterward and so the infection may still be present. I can't urge you enough to stay away from this place and literally drive to any other endo. Any other one. STAY away. read more

My experience was not so great. After spending $1000. Up front for a root canal procedure,it was determine that he couldn't preform it do to complications and would have to come back at a later date that was more convenient to him. This involved medicating for over seven weeks until the vacation schedule was out of his way. And by the way it will cost an additional $300. To go forward with no promise that it would work. Dr. Walden and His Entire Staff Are Very Caring and Terrific People, They Make You Feel Like You're Family From The Time You Walk In the Door, Throughout Your Entire Visit, Dental Procedure and On Your Way Out. They Communicate the Procedure Process, What's to Be Expected and How to Look After the Work Until Being Able to Have the Defective Crown Replaced Which Was Part of the Initial Problem to Start With. Had to Go In to Have a Retreat On a Root Canal Which Had Been Done Elsewhere Including the Defective Crown Installation 3.5 Years Ago and Remember the Problems, Extreme Pain During That Procedure and the Overall Poor Quality of Dental Services Provided by That Other Dental Center. Today's Visit With Dr. Walden and His Staff Was Completely Painless. Arrived 30 minutes Early and Within 20 Minutes They Had Me Seated in the Exam Room Getting Prepped and Ready For the Procedure. Within 30 Minutes Or So, the Procedure Was Done. Dr. Walden's Assistant Took An After X-ray and Then Showed Me the Before and After X-rays on the Large Monitor TV Screen, Explained the Procedure and the Follow-up Care Required Until I Can Get the Defective Crown Replaced in Two Weeks. This is the first time I have seen Dr. Walden. I was referred by my dentist because I had to have a root canal. Dr. Walden's assistant was very pleasant and took time to talk to me, while she was taking the x-rays, before Dr. Walden came into see me. I was very nervous but Dr. Walden's confidence made me feel very at ease. When he walked in he shook my hand and talked to me for a few minutes. He was very personable. The procedure did not take long. The ladies in the office, Cyndie and Valerie were super nice and knowledgeable. They were able to answer all the medical questions I forgot to ask Dr. Walden. Then the next day when the antibiotics were making me sick I was able to reach Dr. Walden right away on his cell phone, which he gives his patients in case they have any problems. It was very comforting to know that I could reach him after hours. Together they make a great team. I would highly recommend Dr. Walden. read more

Dr. Walden seemed nice and friendly when I saw him for the exam. The only problem here is his staff. They are rude, condescending and they try to steal money by changing prices on co-pays. The staff at this place is rude, unprofessional and thieves. They don't care about their customers. Their prices get higher if you question something they do (like not telling you how much your co-pay is until after the exam and you're scheduling your next appointment) or inform them that they are being rude when they interrupt you based on incorrect assumptions that they have. They don't contact your insurance company or check the details of your plan before your appointments, they instead tell you how much you owe them when your appointment is over and you're leaving. When I went for an exam and consultation, as I was leaving, the front desk me I owed them $100 upfront. I don't think she knew what "upfront" meant. She said the reason I had to pay for the exam was because they don't know if my insurance covers it. I thought she was supposed to call them and find out what my insurance plan is. Once they found out, they sent me a letter in the mail advising me to contact them to get my refund since my insurance covered it. Two days before my next appointment, the staff called me to confirm my appointment and tell me that my co-pay was going to be $300. I decided to call them back the next day, 24 hours before my appointment, to see if I could get my refund applied to my $300 co-pay since I didn't have that much money in my HSA. I was going to re-schedule it if they couldn't because my employer puts $200 into my HSA, the first week of every month and I could pay it then instead of with my own money. The staff then asked for my name and if I got a letter in the mail instructing me to contact them for the refund. I did and she looked me up in the system to confirm it. She then asked me what card I wanted it refunded to. I started saying that I don't necessarily want it refunded to a card and she interrupted me saying that they have to put it back on my card and they cannot give me cash. I paused for a moment and then asked her if she would let me finish talking before she assumed what I was going to say. I told her I just wanted to take the $100 of my $300 co-pay when I came in tomorrow. She then said, "sounds good David, we'll see you tomorrow." I asked her if that would work and she said, "Yup, see you tomorrow." The next day I show up for my appointment and they tell me that the $100 refund was already removed from my co-pay and I still owed them $300. I tried to explain that the lady I spoke with the day before did not tell me that and that they sent me a letter telling me to call them to get my refund. I started asking questions as to why they would tell me to contact them for a refund if they already took it off my bill and the women tried to show me her monitor saying it's already been credited. I told her I didn't care what her monitor said and that the lady I spoke to previously told me that I could credit it AFTER she called and told me it would be $300. I explained why this was a problem since I could of re-scheduled the appointment and let my employer pay for it instead. After she accuses me of arguing with her, she pulls out her calculator and asks me what insurance I have. She then tells me that the co-pay is actually $500 and that the previous staff member I spoke to must have rounded it differently. So now the co-pay is $400 after they take off the $100 they owe me. She allowed me to re-schedule the appointment so that I can wait for my employer's money to pay for it. I apologized to her and told her I wasn't trying to argue. She completely ignored my apology as if I didn't say anything and just went straight to asking me what days were good for me. The staff then called me and told me that I need to find another dentist to perform the procedure because of the way the staff has been treated. The staff members are terrible people who apparently jack up/con people on prices if they don't like you or you say something about them being unprofessional and rude. read more

Root canals are not a pleasant experience, but if they were this place is as pleasant as it gets. Reception staff were friendly, dental assistant was very friendly and put me at ease (which is not easy, I hate dental work)... once I was numb I didn't feel a thing. I previously had issues getting numb and so I was concerned but Dr Walden obviously knew what he was doing! They worked to get me in as soon as possible because I was experiencing a lot of pain. I didn't have much after-visit discomfort at all. I drove from Cincy to Nky and it was well worth it. I would recommend this office to anyone! read more

Dr. Walden was wonderful. I had a root canal and experienced no pain at all. The whole experience was pleasant. He staff was also great to deal with. They took me back pretty much as soon as I got there. He came in spoke to me, made me feel good about what was happened. But the laughing gas on, I put my book on tape on and a hour later which felt like 14 minutes I was done. I would recommend him to anyone. His staff even called me the week before to tell me what the out of pocket cost would be. read more

I was really nervous but the dr and put my concerns to rest and it turn out to be a good experience.

I just had a root canal procedure on 2 teeth this afternoon. I was pretty anxious about it as the last one I had from a different doctor sent me to the hospital with a bad infection. The staff was very courteous and made me feel at home. The last root canal I had took 2 hours, this one encompassed 2 teeth and took a mere 30 minutes. Dr. Walden and staff were wonderful and I can't stress enough how good an experience I had. To top it all off the doctor and the rest of the office are UK fans. Go cats! read more

I had 2 root canals with Dr. Walden a year apart. Both experiences were as pleasant as they could be with a root canal. I truly trust him and would highly recommend. Dr. Walden is amazing. He's kind, compassionate, and truly cares about each of his patients. What I found absolutely amazing is that he was so gentle, I was never in pain or uncomfortable during my procedure. In fact, I had immediate relief from the pain. Dr. Walden performed a root canal for me when I was expecting several years ago. I was very apprehensive but was in so much pain I couldn't put it off. He was patient, gentle and I never had a bit of pain after. He took me out of my misery. A few years later my daughter needed a root canal at around age 12 or 13. Dr. Walden did an excellent job for her as well--once again, no pain after at all. I think we each took a couple of preventative ibuprofen afterwards and that was all we ever needed. steer clear! I was supposed to have had a re-treatment of a root canal and I'm pretty sure this guy did absolutely nothing! From what I could tell, he took my crown off and cleaned out the area and resealed...and didn't even do an actual root canal!!!!! A month later, my tooth infection came right back...confirmation that the root canal was not even done. But, he sure made a lot of money! read more

I was referred to this doctor for a root canal since my dentist was out of town for two weeks. I felt quite certain which tooth it was but they did x rays and decided it might be another tooth. Because I could not say specifically which tooth it was by banging on them, I was sent home. In terrible pain I called back the next week and was told the same thing. I called back again and was told I had two options I could have the tooth pulled or do surgery and it was going to cost $3,000.00 and they couldn't do it for another month. I almost had a tooth pulled that did not need to be pulled but decided to go to another doctor. It was the tooth I thought it was and I had the root canal. This is a rude uncaring office. read more

Be careful not to question or get on wrong side of the 2 staff up front. I did not realize I had upset them, they "told on me" to the Dentist Eric Walden. I was reclined in exam chair and Dentist Eric walks in just chewing me out about how his "girls" up front take abuse all the time and how I remind him of his father and he knows exactly how I am because I am exactly like his father. Does not ask me what happened or how I am...just starts firing. Walden showed a huge temper and I asked if he wanted to hear my thoughts about what happened and he was clearly not interested...again went on about older people and his father and how they just don't act right when they come to dentist. The might be technically sound but watch out for that temper and do not upset the two up front because they are not to be trusted IMO. read more

Eric Walden is GREAT!!! He's gentle and that's a lot when your getting a root canal. The Staff so was so polite and friendly my only issue was I've visited the office Twice in I week and both times there was a issue with my prescription not being at the right pharmacy. Luckily after the procedure I was not in any pain.If you go to Eric Walden just make sure you hear the receptionist call your meds in. read more

For those who did not sign up for insurance and need a root canal, this office might be ok. Just be prepared to know the exact cause before entering and not receive care or explanation of much. Even with insurance, they charge patients up front by credit card and reimburse, supposedly, after insurance pays them. By appearance, it seems they could charge a higher rate, not refund the lower amount that having in network insurance allows. I did want to make sure of their procedure - they do not want to provide it in writing. They took a single x-ray. I had the one from my dentist taken just a few days prior as well. Dr. Walden entered with a disapproving look with raised eye brows. Do not know what he had before me, but certainly not welcoming. He asked of my issue. I informed him. He did little. Was sarcastic when I asked about the coolant he was using to test (went to my own dentist after, she showed and explained it to me). He asked the time period of pain. I told him and started to tell him what my dentist stated. He was bothered by that. Dentist referred me; I thought they would work together. He does not. He mentioned sensitivity on the tooth next to the failed root canal. I could not answer if pain was on a single tooth or between them. I said I did not know of issues with the other tooth. I said I could look at my dentist's x-ray that was provided for the endodontist. He said he could see his own x-ray fine. I asked if he could show me the area to which he was referring. He wanted only to stand behind me, not ever face me. I thought at one point he was talking to his assistant as it did not appear he was speaking to me - he got irritated when I asked if his statement was directed at me or her. He stated she could not state the answer (I thought he was timing the length of time for pain with cool test, having her mark it when I told him it subsided). When I started to pull out my dentist's x-ray, he said he would not do work on me. He did not want to explain, show, have any conversation. I was expected to know the direct source (if I did, I would not have needed an evaluation. I would have just gone to get whatever the proper procedure was done). Dentist is referring me to another endodontist with whom 2 in her office has had good experiences. Dentist stated I was only referred to Mr. Walden due to his location and being in network. Not advised to use. Reading other reviews through google, seems there are a number of issues this year with Mr. Walden's office. He might have been good at one point (looks like 2011 by reviews), but certainly not now. read more
