He has never passed a electrical competency test, and is only grandfathered-in as a master class B electrician, based on his experience working as an "electrician" for more than at least about 7 and 1/2 years. This past experience allows Smith to work only in Tama County, Iowa. He primarily works on farms so his work is not inspected by a competent person. The work he did for me was so defective that 240-volt electrical wire splices were only held together with loosely wrapped electrical tape. Under load this would have created a fire that could have easily burned down my house and killed my family. I needed to pay a competent electrician to remove this incompetent ba___d's work and completely start over because Smith did not even use the correct gauge of electrical wire on the job. Smith also uses un-skilled laborers on the job as helpers, but does not even bother to pay to have worker's compensation insurance for his employees. I hope his employees and your family are not injured or killed by Smith's electrical incompetence.

We contacted this company and explained that we have a complex water system including well pump, whole house filtration system, etc. We were looking for a company to work with for servicing of our systems. Initially we asked if they provided free water testing. They stated that they did. I explained that we were concerned with Chromium 6, as a national report had recently been released showing that a significant number of counties in the U.S. had been shown to have this toxin in their systems. When the gentlemen showed up to do the testing my wife again stated that we were most interested in the Chromium 6, the same toxin that the movie Erin Brokovich was based. The salesperson spoke to my wife for about a half hour about the price of a new water system. Neither time was a cost referenced for the FREE water testing we initially had them out to perform. A significant amount of time elapsed and I received a call from the salesperson notifying me that my bill was past due... I told him we had received nothing regarding this and asked what the bill was for as we only had the FREE water testing done. He then lied to me and told me he had told my wife that there was a testing cost associated with the Chromium 6. My wife was not pleased to be called a liar, but I figured that the salesman saw many customers and had simply assumed he had stated this. I asked that he have his office send a bill for my review and figured I would work with the company to come to a solution. I received a bill while out of town for work and called them once home. While trying to get a hold of the person that deals with billing in their office on several occasions over the next couple business days, my wife calls me and tells me that I had just been served small claims court papers for the $136 bill. $136! Hardly worth a trip to court when I was trying to work this out with them. UNBELIEVABLE!!! When I finally spoke to someone in charge, an office manager, she was indifferent and unapologetic. He was not up front about his charges even when asked point blank in person. He first tried to charge for 4 hours of work at $75 per hour. The actual job took less than an hour. When I confronted him about it, he changed it to 3.5 hours. Gee thanks :-( . So he didn't have the basic equipment needed for the job with him, even though he had an idea what to expect before coming to the job site. But, hey, I get it, I'm not an electrician, so maybe this wasn't such a common part, but the parts were standard. He then drove a 1 hour round trip to get the parts, but could have gone to a hardware store closer to get what was needed. When I received the bill, I saw that he charged his labor rate of $75 per hour to drive an hour and a half to and from the job site. This after he told me he doesn't add on a trip charge. Uhhh, seems to me to be a hefty trip charge, or was it just his highly skilled driving abilities that costed $150. In the end, the job is done and this small business was price gouged. Going forward, we will not hire him again, and I will always get estimates in writing. FYI, Ulery Electric was a match for the job on the HomeAdvisor.com search. A similar review can be found there.

They were swamped with other work but came quickly and performed the tasks.After I had our home reconstructed, I asked them to replumb, rewire and reconnect heating and cooling. They were professional, polite and did high quality work. I have had them for drain/sewer issues and their work fixed my issues quickly.
