Scheels is for sure a fun place to be but the staff makes it awful. I have gone here at least 3 different times to look at shoes. One time when I tried to approach the staff they left. This last time I went...: my husband told a staff member I needed help but when someone else approached her asking for help she left without addressing that he requested assistance first. I then FINALLY got to try on a pair of shoes and I needed to try a different size I stood at the door for a min of 5 mins and no one approached me. 2 staff members looked at me and walked away to straighten up display shoes. I love this place. They have literally everything including a candy shop, restaurant, arcade, play area, fish tank, you name it. The Ferris wheel is $1 and kids love it. You could make a whole day here, especially on a cold day. Amazing store. I felt like a kid in a candy store... well there IS an actual candy store in here! I'm visiting Colorado and have never been to Scheels before. It's a massive store with all things sports. Not only that, you see a Ferris wheel and an aquarium. The store is really clean, pretty stocked up and they have a lot of staff members walking around asking if they could help. They're super friendly and we learned that this is an employee owned store. Saw some doggies walking around as well so that was cool. Prices are okay, they're on the high side even the sale items but we found a lot of new items for NFL gear. We bought some sports team gears and even the Air Force shirt for the game we were going to go see while visiting. They even have a little game section with video games and a home store! Wow is this a sensory overload when you walk in. All fun though! There really is so much to explore and see in here. To be honest we came because we heard there was a Ferris wheel. So it was why not! Let's go check it out. When you walk in the first thing that caught our eyes was the beautiful fish tank. Then the Ferris wheel. How cool!! Of course we went directly to that! The line went fast which was surprising. While in line we saw a lot of families with their dogs. It was surprising and adorable! Once we got on it was so fun. A little scary lol! Admittedly when we stopped and we were at the top I was shaking in my boots lol! After we got off, we looked around and that was fun. We didn't really get anything but it was cool seeing the candy shop, somewhere you can bowl, lots of clothes and outdoor stuff as well. A fun way to spend an hour for sure. read more

Both of these ladies were SO helpful with my many questions about clothing and looking for certain items. Each were personable, kind and patient. This sporting goods store is amazing!! At first, when I walked into the store I was a little overwhelmed because I didn't know which section of the store I would go to first. The first thing you will see when you walk into the store is the cool Ferris Wheel. To access the upstairs you can either take the elevator or get your steps in by taking the stairs. The big ticket selling item I saw was buying ammunition. They have a line to stand in and it looked like it went super fast because the staff is there to assist you. A sign stated 3 boxes per person. They do have a cafe in the store that sells Little Man Ice cream. I have to say they pretty much have everything. The parking lot is huge and they have plenty of parking. They do offer military discounts of 5 percent. read more

The fact I can price match is the only reason I gave 2 stars. I purchased a pair of glasses last week and had to be escorted to the register. I understand that they were over $200 but how come the people who purchased glasses before me from the same sales person got to walk away with theirs? If they weren't a gift I would've left them. But icing on the cake is the cashier never asked if I needed a bag in which I needed one. I asked her for one after and 99% of the stores would give you one especially if they never offer one, but she charged me 27 cents, but aren't bags 10 cents? Our family frequently goes to Scheels; like every week, back home in Texas. We were visiting Colorado Springs for the holidays and heard that this new location had recently opened; so of course we had to check it out. I'm not gonna lie; I prefer our Texas location with layout and because it's slightly bigger. But that's because we're used to our location. This location is still beautiful; love the fish tanks, the cafe and the candy store. Our kids love going here. I do love that this location has more brass statues out front than ours. Especially the one of Reagan. And I love the moving Lincoln inside the store. This location definitely has a better selection in winter wear; obviously because of climate. Customer service here was top notch just as it is back home. Happy to see another location! And happy for Colorado to have a Scheels! read more

This place is great if you are looking to do a little shopping, people watch and get a walk in all at the same time. It's like sports authority and six flags had a baby. The store is large and their selection of sporting goods is pretty awesome. Prices are not cheap by any means but if you are looking for yoga pants or a solid pair of sneakers, Scheels got a variety of brands from which to choose. The store is large and there are fun activities found around the store.. From a pizza restaurant to a ferris wheel to a small bowling alley.. there's definitely fun to be had by the whole family. My daughter loves to stop and watch the fishies in the massive fish tank at the entrance. The staff is always super friendly and helpful and the store seems to always be buzzing with people walking in and out. Scheels is the ultimate shopping experience for anyone who loves to shop for outdoor and indoor gear, sports, sneakers, gym gear and almost everything in between. I've been here twice in the last 2 months and was completely wowed by all the amazing items they offered. I also bought some household decor which was something I didn't know they carried. This visit was so amazing that I think I was in the store for over 2 hours and ended up purchasing a bunch of items that I didn't know I "needed"-- LOL! I also like their very flexible return policy which I called in advance to ask about before a return. And it's that you don't have to have a receipt for a refund or the original packaging but they will ask you to remember what card you put it on, if you want your money back. Overall Scheels is an amazing store but can run a bit more expensive than other stores of it's kind but it may be worth it for some people. read more

We were just there looking for a specific type of work boots for my husband. We were upstairs and on the main level and passed at least 15 to 20 employees. Two acknowledged our existence.. No one asked if we need help finding anything. When we got to the men's shoes downstairs, there were no employees to help. I had to go find someone. After waiting 10 to 15 minutes, a lady came out of the stockroom and said I'll be with you in a little bit. She was busy helping other customers, there were two guys working in the department. They never offered to help. Customer service sucks. Employees do not care about helping customers. And, then you see what I call The Scheels Wheel - a giant Ferris wheel for kids and adults that takes your eye all the way up to a glass ceiling...WOW! It's pretty magnificent. I've been to a lot of sporting goods stores, but never one that includes so many unexpected options. There's a huge array of the things you except to find, but the cafe, candy shop, arcade, home interiors center, Ferris wheel, aquarium, etc. all offer a special punch of fun! And, the selection of goods in this well-staffed and friendly store is also surprising. Whatever sport you are into, they've got the goods. My only disappointment is they sell guns. For such a big store and seemingly commercial atmosphere, this place is pretty dang cool. I have found firearms parts and accessories here that were cheaper than anywhere else I could find them. If you have trouble finding something it won't be long until a staff member asks if you need help. I'm usually impressed with their knowledge. Every time I bring my dogs with me into the city, I have to go by Scheels. Love walking my dogs around to see the fish and the taxidermied animals. Ofc my dog always gets to pick out a toy, also, and carries it out of the store like he just won the lotto. Love this store. Employees are generally always welcoming and friendly, and ready to help if I need it. Also, the fudge that you can get in the Downstairs food store is very tasty. I ordered a case of .410 ammo given a delivery date and had a charge on my card, only for a WEEK later 1 day before the delivery date I get an email cancelling my order because now they were out of stock. Not out of stock when I ordered it, out of stock when a WEEK LATER, they finally bothered to try and ship it. Massive store with interesting icons outside and a Ferris wheel inside. Nice collegiate section of branded items. A good but not great variety of things. But for a store this large one would expect more complete inventory...of running shoes, golf gloves, athletic shirts etc - certainly popular sizes can get diminished but to have nothing in for example a size 11 shoe with no expectations of new stock til December seems a bit...odd. Maybe it was a bad day. Maybe it was bad luck. Maybe the staff was misinformed. But expectations have certainly been reset to be sure. read more
