They offer free photos with Santa every year, you get the one printed photo free but can purchase more, we chose to buy the online package so we could download them and it was only $20 so not bad. You have to make a reservation online but they do this for Easter as well! After purchasing a rifle and a scope at a different store, I realized I needed some additional parts for mounting the scope onto the rifle. The store where I bought the rifle and scope didn't have the necessary additional parts. So I called Bass Pro Shops to see if they did. Not only did the have the parts, they said if I brought my rifle & scope in, they'd mount it for me. Score! I'd never mounted a scope before and I was exactly sure how and new I didn't really have all the right tools to do the job right. Matt was the guy on duty in the Optics section. He was super friendly and explained what he was doing at every step. Not only did he do an absolutely great job mounting the scope, he did it much faster than I could've. Also with none of the swearing I would've spouted. I have to say, the excellent customer service I witnessed tonight will definitely make me drive the extra few miles to go to Bass Pro again. I still think this place still deserves a solid 4 stars. The store is always clean , well laid out and always has new merchandise come in . I came in to buy a specific CRKT knife as a gift but they didn't have the model I was looking for. I was able to buy a gun case for a gift and that was very reasonably priced at $34. I love that their brand of smoker pellets was on sale , I needed to smoke a ham along with my Thanksgiving Turkey. Treager branded pellets are always on the higher side and I tried Cabelas out. Bought 2 bags. Younger kids look like they still love coming here to look at the fish tanks, decor and toys. Saw that Santa is Covid safe and taking reservations for Christmas photos. A bit of a let down for such a well known place .... big place and huge inventory but the prices are outrageous.... of course online prices are cheaper, but sometimes I like to 'shop' ..... but I passed more than a couple big box stores to get here ..... Dick's, Sportsman 's Warehouse, Sports Authority ........ Floor employees were friendly but some went out of their way to not make eye contact ..... again, large selection of merchandise but asking top dollar ...... $40 for a lb of smokeless powder ..... that's the same price as an online purchase plus the hazmat charge ..... gun prices are a good 10% higher than any gun shop in town ..... and this town has MANY gun shops ...... There is a 'take a number' ticket machine at the gun counter .... and only 2 employees back there ..... the counter can be empty of customers and they will not recognize nor help you unless you 'take a number'. ...... seriously? ..... There is no incentive to drive all the way out here ...... I see this place becoming a present-day Circuit City .... it will turn into a showroom .... people will come and check out the merchandise but will ultimately buy it online ...... I don't see a whole lot of return business here.... first time shoppers that are curious and that's it ..... and on the day we visited, 8/4/18, the credit card system was down ..... how much money did they lose because no one could use a credit card? ..... cash only ..... The fish tank is cool if you want to take the kids to see it ..... 5 Star Atmosphere, 3 Star Prices... Bass Pro Shops in my opinion is more of a shopping experience than a good deal on products. Don't get me wrong, they have some great sales from time to time, but for the most part without those sales they are generating the immense capital to build and maintain these crazy stores packed with log home stylings and taxidermy former animals. From what I have seen the gun prices are pretty high... I bought my new Glock for about $200 less at another store! Ammo is high too, except during some holidays when they run some specials to get you in the door. The center point of each store seems to be the HUGE FISHTANK! Once you have seen it, there is not much else to say about it... Kids really love it though! Bass Pro does offer some cool things to get you into the door. During the holidays they have Santa photos and activities for the kids which is cool. All in all this is a decent spot to walk around and see what they have going on. read more

It's been several years since I've physically been inside a bass pro store, I always shop online for the most part. This location has a massive parking lot with ample parking available. The store is pretty big but you won't feel overwhelmed because you're immediately greeted as you walk in and the hostess points you in the right direction for what you're looking for, plus they have really big signage everywhere that makes it super easy to navigate. The staff is extremely helpful and pleasant. The store is very well stocked and organized. They have a really big aquarium in the back and as you're walking through the store you hear the sound of running water like a small creek or waterfall and it's beyond relaxing to listen to. If you're ever in the need for sporting goods or clothes, bass pro is definitely a must! read more

Archery department is always understaffed meaning you'll rarely get good service. Anything you ask for always seems to be an annoyance to them. Decent selection, but you won't be able to test out any bows - just buy and pray you like it. Nothing personal, but you're better off going to a local place that will spend some time with you before you make a purchase. I needed some snow boots and had looked all over the place didn't want to spend 200+ on a pair to keep my feet warm and dry and after shopping around found a pair here them at fit the bill. I could wear them shopping or trudging about. We aren't trail/ski people so I didn't need anything spectacular. The salesperson held a pair for me. She also helped me through the vast selection and gave me information about various types. Sarah was friendly, Informative , professional and most importantly helpful! We took a break from the heat to get some AC time and extra supplies for our camping trip. I hail from the home of Bass Pro Shops, so I'm definitely a fan. I always appreciate that you can bring your pets in, and that it's a fully immersive experience whether you're there for a gun or beef jerky. To top it off, the view is outstanding on a clear day. I honestly enjoyed stopping by at this location in Colorado Springs, CO. It appeared much bigger outside, compared to the one in Northfield (Denver, CO 80238) BUUTTT, the inside lacked much and half of what Northfield supplies. I did enjoy the impressive Christmas flare that struck up when we pulled up in the parking lot. They also had a small water with bridge and gazebo type of gardening display, which Northfield lacked. I loved how decked out in holiday it was inside. A big, jolly Christmas tree greeted us and we couldn't help ourselves but feel jolly and take a photo of it. We enjoyed seeing Santa and the elves as well as nutcrackers everywhere. Their aquarium looked as standard as our regular location and we also saw they were low in stock for magazines, which is to be expected. I loved the kid's gear and outfits because it gave Nick and I some ideas when we have little ones. Overall, a pleasant location. read more

Bass pro sold my wife a broken gun. Made her wait 2 Hours after they sold it to her to find the clip and then what do u know when she shot , the clip started falling out. My complaint is the (time share) trip that they forcefully try to sell on you, they try and buy you with a ($50) gift card. They will tell you anything and everything to try and get you to sign up for a chance to win a trip or money, and then once you sign a little paper to enter they will for ever try to sell you a time share package. Don't fall into that trap, or fall into that trap it's your choice. When we kept declining the sales associate began to get less friendly I can tell by her demeanor and her tone in her voice. ----CLEAN, but the sales associates aren't all friendly and the manager trying to sell a time share for 40 minutes of our time. I feel like I'm walking into Disney Land each time I enter this place. I can spend hours browsing in the fishing Dept. You can even find good deals or sales items occasionally. The staff are all knowledgeable, most are friendly and take the time to help you find what you need, or even suggest a better alternative. This part will remain unchanged. Management is a different story altogether. Condescending and even smug is a good way to describe them. If your price point isn't high enough, they will treat you as a nuisance. Customer service is not priority. This is based on dealing with only 2 managers, so take it w a grain of salt. There may be some good ones? Try dealing staff only for your best experience. read more

I have had pretty good luck here I guess based on other reviews. I have visited a number of times with focus on archery, fishing and shoes. Each time, I have always found willing staff to spend time with me selecting items or answering questions. I especially like the guys in the fishing department (Hank is number 1!) who like to not only answer questions, but offer fishing advice or local spots. only beef is that they can't look up your bass pro card at purchase. Always have to go to the counter to get it done (I hate carrying those tags!). I separate this review from the bar/bowling alley. that place is a mess. We were in dire need of some Sterno for a party, and this place had it. We called and they set some aside for us to pick up. Once we got here, it was confusing trying to figure out where to go to get into the store as they have turnstiles at the front. There was a line on the far right where you had to pay for entry and another line to the left where you just walked in. To this day, I still don't know what the one on the right was for. We walked to the back near the camouflage clothing as directed on the phone and it took us a couple of associates to figure out where our Sterno was located. Once we figured it out, we picked up a few more items and checked out. Overall, it is pretty busy here and it seems like communication needs a little work. read more

Got a new compound bow from Cabelas. Walked in to BassPro and Jake at the archery center got everything set-up. He took arm length measurements (length of pull), taught stance/draw technique. Showed me how to use the trigger glove, set the pull weight to 55lbs. He cut my arrows to the proper size and set the arrowhead mounts in place. Did some range time on targets and waxed the strings. He was friendly and knowledgeable. Great customer service. Jake is the go to guy for bow set up and maintenance. read more

Purchased a brand new compound bow and visited the archery department to tune my bow, but was greeted with attitude and disrespect! The two specific individuals (Jonathan & Reagan) in the archery department made it seem like I was an inconvenience to them. I don't want to bring racial prejudice, but I felt like I was treated unfairly because of my race! It's pretty disappointing when you go to a store largely due to being able to use their rewards program, only to be told at checkout that they will not type in your loyalty program phone number because it will somehow crash their system. This happened the other day when making some holiday shopping purchases. Josh, the cashier was extremely rude, appeared to have no empathy and said that we should just return after Christmas and have the points from our purchase added then. Finally after fumbling around trying to find our physical loyalty card he said that we could go to customer service and have the transaction added. Thanks, Josh!! Next, we went to customer service to ask to have our transaction added to our loyalty card and also inquired about the rewards balance on our loyalty card. It turns out that we had just over $10 that we could've used on our purchase, but since Josh was told that no one could use their phone number during the holidays at checkout, we missed out on that. Bailie at customer was more helpful but still didn't seem to care that this was happening, and repeatedly told us that the now $11 balance on our loyalty card couldn't have been used until after the recent transaction went through anyways. Yes, Bailie, obviously the $0.50 cents that we just earned couldn't have been used today, but we could've used the $10.xx that was already earned. Needless to say, customer service is very lacking and if store management will not allow a customer to use their loyalty card with a phone number during the holidays then much of the reason that I have to shop here is now lost.
