U.S. Surplus has a great selection at good prices. The employees there are friendly and helpful. It is one of my "must do" stops whenever I am in Colorado Springs as I find items that I hard to find elsewhere, and usually at prices that are considerably better than online sources or eBay. Definitely worth a stop if you are anywhere near it and looking for a good source of military surplus items. About the only "complaint" I have is one common for military surplus shops, they have very desirable items on display that are not for sale! I know it adds to the ambiance of the store, but it kills me when I see something I really want but cannot buy it! :D Luckily, at U.S. Surplus they have such a great selection it makes up for the items that aren't for sale! read more

He is very knowledgeable, always polite and professional. They have a great selection of contemporary "real military surplus" and various historical military items for sale. Holy moly, I can't believe I found a place where I was able to order an "assault pack" and in great condition to boot! To add to the large selection of gear they have the good folks at Glenn's shipped and got the item delivered in a few day (ordered on Wednesday and received on Friday)! Glenn's is one of those musty Army Surplus stores that remind me of my childhood. I have fond memories of poking around for hours in surplus stores like this in Northern California. Glenn's is a small place but has a constant rotation of good finds due to it's location close to Fort Carson. The prices aren't always super cheap, as an example I checked out their barely there stock of carabiners recently; the ones they had were about $9 and no-name brands. They are completely scandalous and deceitful in business transactions. I purchased an uniform shirt from this company in my size, however when I received it, the tag on the collar said my size 16 but the shirt ran several sizes smaller than actual size. I immediately notified the sells clerk, Mary and she tells me, she will check to see if they have a larger size in the same shirt. They didn't have a size larger in the style I purchased. However, Mary continued to try to sell me shirts similar to the one I purchased in sizes that were too small. I informed her that I wasn't interested. However, she continued to try to trade me for another shirt. Also, please know that my purchase was completed by telephone with Mary and she confirmed this purchase. I did my purchase by phone because I have a security feature on my bank account and I forgot to remove it before making the purchase initially online, so this transaction didn't go through. I explained this to Mary before completing the transaction with her over the telephone. There were no issues because I had removed the security feature on my account prior to contacting the company. All while Mary was trying to trade another shirt with me, she never once mentioned anything about the shirt not being paid for. My bank account reflects that this transaction took place and I also received a receipt from the company for the amount I paid for the shirt. I provided all this evidence to the company. However, they remain to state the shirt was never paid for and for me to contact my bank. They stated for me NOT to make a big deal about this concern and continue to refuse to reimburse me my funds. I will be sure to tell everyone I know about this dishonest and scandalous company. I have no intentions of ever conducting any future business with them. They get NO stars but the review won't post otherwise. read more

NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH THIS PLACE!! Honestly it has been a long time since someone has made me this angry. This place is GARBAGE!!! If you have the opportunity to meet Steve (I guess, the main guy in charge) you will find that he has a little tough guy attitude! I drove all the way down from Denver because he refused to give an estimate over the phone... fine I'll do it. I show up there and he "attempted" to take advantage thinking that he would give me less then 20 percent of the worth of my stuff. Then afterwords he told me all of have is old crap. More then half of my stuff still has the tags on it, brand multi cam aid bags and so on... then as I was leaving he was still throwing out childish comments from the door because I would not let this scum bag pull a fast one on me. Glenn's says they operate with integrity. This has not been my experience. I ordered a NEW APECS set as it was much cheaper than buying on base. I spoke to a lady and she was happy that I was pleased with their prices. She was very friendly the first time on the phone. Shipping was quick, but when the items arrived, they were not new. There was a HID ID in one pocket and melted gummy candy that was open in the other. I requested another new jacket and it was the only one in that size, so I ordered a slightly larger one. She appologized for the mistake but was not nearly as friendly. The second jacket arrived quickly like the first. However, it also was not new as there were FOUO documents in the pockets and a couple small stains on it, but still in great condition. I told her I was willing to keep that jacket and pants at the used price, but she said to send it all back and we won't be doing business. Didn't really want to do business with them sending used items twice advertising them as new, but needed them quickly and it was still better than paying for a new set. Stopped in looking for a Vietnam era pin/ribbon for my father who is a veteran of the Vietnam war and did not receive one of his medals. They did not have any, but offered to order it for me. I agreed and provided my information. A month went by and they hadn't called back (they said about a week to 10 days to get it in). I called and was told the company they ordered it from had said they sent it, but that they didn't have it and another one was on order and I would be contacted the following week. That was a month ago and still no contact. Sure, it was a very low-cost item, but meant the world to my dad (I found it at Old Colorado Surplus who went above and beyond to get me both the medal and the pin). Horrible service at Glenn's. If you can't get it, it's on backorder, or simply isn't available, I can respect that. Stringing me along is the lowest of the low. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. read more
