Owatanna's location is one of the more grander Cabela's that I've been to in the Midwest. It was a pretty decent sized building with a decent amount of item variety and a huge taxidermy display right in the middle of it all. I really enjoyed the taxidermy and mount displays at this location. There was a huge diversity of animals from around the world and the quality of the displays was on the same level of a natural history museum. Just walking around and looking at everything was a fun time. There is even a walkthrough aquarium that shows off local sports dish species. Staff were friendly and helpful and prices for most items were very reasonable, especially sale items. The only thing missing was one of those penny arcade gun ranges where you shoot things and they move, oh well!

I browsed the men's section first since the shoes are pretty much the same, I couldn't find them at first so I went across the store over to the women's and couldn't find converse in women's either. I did notice the women's shoes wasn't as busy as the men's. I browsed around a bit (no one greeted me or anything in men's or women's). I did finally find them under a table display and they only had platforms for women's so I went back over to men's to take another look. I did find them and waited for a salesman to assist me. A man walked up (after me) and the shoe he wanted was next to stock room so he was helped right away. I waited and asked for help.. I was told by a rep that he had to go check on some other customers, I kept waiting and being ignored to the point I witnessed reps asking people still looking around if they needed help and finally someone came up to help me, I asked for a 7 (as I'm a 8 1/2, 9 in women's), he came back and told me the smallest size they have is an 8 which is too big. He asked who I was shopping for, I said myself and he asked me what size I wear and I said about a 9 in women's and he said "well this is men's" as if I was blind. I saw some cute Bondi 9's. I researched Hoka website and they are a neutral shoe, but will work for overpronation, which my friend says I have. They were comfortable walking in the shoe dept. I also needed a new cover for my thrift store Stanley. I did score 20% off. What bothers me is they say they have a military discount but supposedly this store doesn't do that. Scheels offers 5% off. I'm glad I had a 20% discount for these spendy $174 shoes. Hope they are comfortable for my new side fun job this summer. I will be walking a lot and enjoying concerts.

There was another guy in the golf area I told him you could see the shoe prints on the top of the 2 ball putter. He tried to clean it off the best he could. I have purchased 2 graphs, trolling motor, installation ( supervised by Pat ) one hell of a nice guy and couldn't be more helpful on numerous occasions. Rerigged our boat and I couldn't be more satisfied with the installations. We used sales and saved money ! Still spent 9k. Purchased a firearm, performance special order and sold traded a firearm at this store. Hanna, was Exceptional in helping me purchase the firearm I wanted. From ordering, out of state to making sure the paperwork was correct and I was up to speed on the process! Gary helped me on the day of pickup for my firearm. Exceptional also. Employees like these, service, quality products and what makes a sporting goods store awesome like this store is why this store will have my business and I could go anywhere in the metro area to find what I want.
