I have heard that if the patient doesn't know you, then you will not get in to visit. There is a black woman who is a Reverend, my brother got involved with this woman and her two daughters they are or was doing, Voo do doll (witchcraft) on my niece. This black Reverend woman she took the Stimulus Check ($1,200.00) that my niece had, this reverend woman, she had my niece prostituting my niece she saved up $500.00 and gave that to this Reverend woman and her daughter a total of $1,700.00 that this Reverend woman and her daughters have taken from my niece this Reverend woman and her daughters said that my niece own her for baby sitting for her. My nice has two boys who need their mother, she has a 10 year old son and a 21 year of age son. This black reverend woman is trying to keep my niece from her family. They have been doing Vo do doll (witch craft) on my niece since the year of 2003. They are trying to control my niece life with drugs and sex. My niece mother was killed by this Reverend woman and her daughters they told people that my niece mother (deceased 2016), was or had a mental problem to make them selves look good, but they were doing Vo do doll (witchcraft) on her and they are doing witch craft on my brother; this Reverend woman has said they she is only waiting to get read of me. I believe Madden Mental Health Center; there should be more concern when a family member is looking for a love one and then they are told merely that that person isn't there at the Madden Mental Health Center, but my oldest niece said the staff told her that some times they come and go and come back again. This Reverend Woman and her daughters they come out to the Madden Mental Health Center to see or visit my niece but they don't tell me any thing. My niece have a cellular phone in her name I have called that number and text my niece at the number but no answer. It is my niece out going voice on the voice mail. I know that I should go to the police or put a missing person out on my niece. My niece is not crazy they are making her to use drugs, and trying to control her life with witchcraft. This woman got my niece saying that she don't like me. That she can't stand her son, nor me. I know that my niece loves her children. and I know that she loves me and her other family members. I would give this place 0 stars if I could. I know it's a state run mental and rehabilitation…read morefacility, but it's worse than what you imagine. Let's start with arrival. You have to do the full naked inspection and wear a gown totally nude until someone can bring you clothes. You sleep on a stuffed tarp with a stained sheet with no pillow. The units are coed, but bunks and restrooms are separated by a common room. The place is unsanitary. They mop daily, but don't sweep, the floors are sticky, the chairs are uncomfortable, the showers are moldy, the phones are never cleaned, the rooms are filthy, and while I never saw any rodents I certainly heard them and saw evidence of them. The food was horrendous, cold turkey sandwiches on stale bread was a staple, and it never got much better. Now let's get to the staff. I saw 1 psychiatrist in the 11 days I was there for what was supposed to be a 5 day hold, we had a daily group session which was usually good, I ment my social worker a handful of times (she recommended my release days earlier) she was one of the few bright spots, the panel that was supposed to meet me to approve my release NEVER met with me, the nurses and cleaning staff were on their phones, I saw nurses just fill in previous numbers from blood pressure and heart rate rather than actually taking them, the group counselors were nice but a 1 hour once a day group session doesn't do much, and I saw staff antagonizing some of the more vulnerable patients. To kill time you had limited options. You could play cards with other patients, read the news paper, read out dated terrible books, color, or watch tv. I was lucky to have a group of 4 people to talk to and play cards with. The people ironically were the only thing that kept me sane there. When trying to get to the panel to start my exit plan I was told I was still restricted despite the 1 psychiatrist that I saw saying he recommended my release, and my social worker recommended my release, my family and wife calling and visiting and advocating for me. They keep you there because bodies on the unit mean money. The man who ultimately made the decision for me to leave told me he only did so because he was tired of my wife calling him. I have PTSD from this place. I grip the steering wheel tighter when driving past this place. I feel sorry for any person that ends up there especially those who were extremely vulnerable and in need to real help. Please if you have a relative, friend, or loved one in this facility do everything you can to help get them out.

So at the request of my physician, I went to Madison St. Medical Sleep Disorders Center for a…read morereferral and to speak to the Doctor about my restless and sometimes sleep apnea ridden nights (Sleep apnea is a common disorder in which you have one or more pauses in breathing or shallow breaths while you sleep. This results in poor sleep quality that makes you tired during the day. Sleep apnea is one of the leading causes of excessive daytime sleepiness). Well my scheduled appointment for the study was actually a week away, but I totally got the dates mixed up and ended showing up a week ahead (last night actually). The technician at the front, who also was walking in when I did), was so pleasant and insisted that although my scheduled time was a week away, to please wait an extra hour in case someone did cancel or was a no show. She said that this one person has canceled or was a no show three times in the past and she would really like me not to waste my drive here. So of course, I waited in this pleasantly decorated reception area and counted down the hour. Low and behold (big surprise) he never showed up so they accommodated me. This was a really good thing because I was there already and the fact that she accommodated me was awesome. Now, the actual rooms you are given makes it seem as if you are in a nice 4 star hotel suite. I mean, its a nice moss green (very soothing) with your own bathroom (nicely decorated glass in green tile, shower, you know the works). The technicians came in and explained the WHOLE procedure to me, and I proceeded to go into la la land. Although of course I had wires everywhere and I was being monitored all night for different rhythms in my brain. I thought this place to be extremely professional and wow, the staff are just as nice as can be. In the morning, they wake you up (5 AM.) and let you complete your study with an hour of getting ready, so of course I showered and left. I just think that this was a really nice experience and hopefully I will get answers as to why I am having restless nights. I did appreciate also that they share parking with Leona's (next door) and for Oak Park this is a must since you will get a ticket if you park in the street. I want to be very honest with this review of Loyola University Medical Center…read more We arrived on Easter Sunday night after being transferred from another hospital, and I was truly grateful we made it. The ICU staff on the 2nd floor were exceptional--kind, professional, and attentive. They consistently checked on us and treated both patients and family with care and respect during a very difficult time. However, after a few days, we were moved to the 3rd floor, and the experience changed significantly. During overnight hours--around 2 AM--the environment has been surprisingly loud. I heard staff using profanity, watching videos or news on their phones at high volume, and openly complaining about long shifts. I understand healthcare is demanding, but this is a hospital setting, and patients (and their families) can hear everything. My relative is here receiving end-of-life care, so I stay overnight. At one point, a nurse questioned my presence rather abruptly before knowing the situation. To her credit, she apologized once she understood, but in moments like these, a little more compassion upfront goes a long way. One of the nurse was rude and jist keep using profanity and stated this is who she is. Wow, Loyola use to have professional nursing staff, what happened? I also noticed interactions where staff spoke to patients in a very casual, sometimes inappropriate tone. Maybe I'm a bit old-fashioned, but professionalism matters--especially in a place where people are vulnerable, grieving, and trying to find peace. My takeaway: There is clearly a strong, compassionate team here--as seen in the ICU--but consistency matters. Professionalism, awareness, and respect should be maintained across all floors, especially during overnight hours. Hospitals should feel calm and supportive, not loud or chaotic. Patients and families deserve that--especially during life's most difficult moments. I will give a 4 star due to our first encounter here and the kindness nurses such as Nicole and Quand and Jordan. Very kind d and attentive. And I just heard 2 nurses use profanity to another nurse. I am sincerely flabbergasted that they speak like this so openly and there are patients present in their rooms. The level of unprofessionalism is amazing, and i am really saddened by this as this hospital was once top hospital. Being part of the joint commission will definitely reflect not only my review, but how I move forward. This is really upsetting me.
