So while I was sitting in the airport in San Diego, I had a thought since I don't work until Thursday I need to get some personal care while I have the time. So I looked on yelp read some reviews and decided on Schwartz Salon and Spa. And by my surprise there was an evening appointment available with Chelsea. She was very lovely kind and caring. She made my hair feel and look fantastic. I'm 50 dark hair until the grays started to invade so, she blended them quite well with highlights and a healthy trim. First... A HUGE Thank You to Cait for fixing the butchery the previous salon did on my hair! I posted in a FB Group for recommendations on getting a V cut. There were so many recommendations I decided to give a salon a try based on a person's experience and because she gets the same haircut. BOY was that a mistake. I almost cried when I saw the end result. So went back to my post in hopes that I'll find someone who can fix the f**very cause this is bad! Called Shertz Salon and Spa based on Caitlyn's response to my post. I explain the situation and sent her the before and after picture. She said she'd take care of me. She did an excellent job! I needed a haircut so I decided to give this place a try. I was surprised I was able to snag a last minute appointment on a Saturday morning. The booking process was pretty easy but I did have to call the evening before to make sure they confirmed my appointment on their books. Upon arrival my stylist, Jordyn, was super friendly and sweet. I requested a trim and some shaping up of my layers to give my wavy hair more shape. She did a great job shampooing my hair and making it a relaxing experience. During the hair cut we chatted quite a bit and she made me feel very welcome. She did an excellent job on the hair cut itself and blow dried/styled in straight. It looked sooooo good leaving the salon and I was so happy. I'll definitely be booking here again for my next hair cut. read more

I love Schertz Salon and Spa! Everyone here is so kind and nice and really takes the time to give you what you want. They offer so many wonderful services and they are all very reasonably priced. The owner is wonderful and very sweet. Jessica gives the best massages and facials. She's very talented in her field. Jordyn has been my hair stylist for almost a year now and I've gone from blonde to copper with bangs! She always gets the color on point and does a fantastic job! Peyton and Chelsea are incredibly talented stylists as well and I definitely recommend them. Linda is a wonderful stylist and her updos are amazing ! Overpriced for the basic work they do. Peyton ripped through my long, WET hair and didn't even give me the proper color/ cut I was asking for. I ended up having to brush through my hair MYSELF and wouldn't you know, it was easy to brush/dry!! Not to mention she tried to reinforce the excuse of "it's because we lightened it" NO! There was even a point where a girl with blue hair came up while the toner was in and asked why she was using that toner!! The workers were trying on the clothes, one running around barefoot which is gross and unprofessional. There was unswept hair below my chair for the whole cut and the owner (older lady) had to sweep up other's stations. My scalp was so sensitive after this experience and my hair was 1 & 1/2 inches shorter than it should've been. I check my ends, they did not need that much off, but it's probably because my hair got ripped through. Do better. read more

The entire staff provided a positive environment and were very pleasant to every customer that came in. The salon is clean and there is plenty of parking. Below specifically speaks on the stylist who did my mother's hair. It's not often you come across an amazing hair stylist who is respectful of your time , has reasonable prices AND provides a positive environment for their customers. Jordyn also provided prompt and professional communication as I asked her several questions before actually booking. She did an amazing job on my mother's hair! Not only are the blending of the colors amazing and exactly what my mother was looking for....the cut and style was exactly what she asked for! She cut 7 inches off. Jordyn is a gem and I am so happy to finally find someone who can cut, color, and provide an overall comfortable and positive experience. My mom has been smiling since we left. I have a hard time giving this review. On one hand, Payton was great! She was professional, knew what she was doing and very kind. My hair looked amazing when I left! I am looking forward to my next appointment with her. On the other hand... the other 2 girls working with her that day, were not. They bullied her the entire time. Telling her to go get the pizza they were all sharing for lunch, while she was in the middle of doing my highlights. Acting snotty and just plain rude to her. One even got upset bc while washing my hair she made a very small mess. Scoffing & said, "God! Payton!!" as she walked back to their laundry. The attitudes and remarks were completely uncalled for and quite unprofessional. If you have criticism for "the new girl" can't you solve it like an adult, not in front of all the customers with rude comments? I get she was behind & asking them to help her out. That is difficult when you're booked. But one of the girls had a cancellation & was just sitting in her chair, so she had time to help out. She was just REALLY upset that she was asked to. She did finish drying and styling the customers hair. But not willingly. (I'm sure if the other girl asked, she would've graciously helped her without the rude comments like she made to Payton.) It's sad they were treating her that way since they've been there longer, they should be more professional. Payton handled it all with class and didn't make any remarks back to them. I'll definitely go back to Payton. On a side note. I like this salon bc they play Christian music in the background. Maybe they changed that in the last year? After my hairdresser of 23 years passed away, I had to find someone new. I tried Schertz Salon and Spa and the first visit was great, I was testing the waters, asking for an inch off the length. Peyton did just what I asked and I was so pleased that I went back two months later. This time I asked for 2 inches off the length and more of a U shape. What I got was a very layered and much shorter cut. It had taken a long time to grow out the layers previously and I never wanted to go through that again. Peyton said she had gone over that with me before the shampoo but that is not accurate. I would not have agreed to layers again. Ever. When I texted her, Peyton offered an apology saying she should have made things more clear as a U shape cut requires layers. Nope, not the case. I won't be back, nor will I recommend this salon. read more

As soon as I walked in I was greeted by the hair stylist with warm smiles . Ashton did a great job on my hair. The owner - Lucinda- fit me in on a Saturday morning before my daughter's wedding. I had only been here once before as a walk in and was happy with the cut she had given me. The styling on that Saturday only took about 30 minutes and she did a wonderful job and my hair still looked great that evening. Susan has been my stylist for years. I am very very PICKY about my hair and how it looks. At first I was insistent and directed Susan how I wanted my hair - color, style etc. Susan would make honest opinions and suggestions. They were SO good and much to my surprise - better than mine. I started just going in and telling her do my hair and letting her suggest what she thought would enhance my appearance. She has NEVER stirred me wrong. Through - long, short, red, blonde, purple, highlighted, lowlights, permed, and any other way you can imagine - she has never damaged my hair or had to do do overs. ANYONE who has anything bad to say about her professionalism, kindness or abilities has to be flat out lying. I've never seen her give anyone a bad style, color or highlight and I've seen a tremendous amount of her work. Want a great do? Go see her. She will NOT FAIL you. Since the new owner, Susan, moved into this salon she has done nothing but bad work. She is serving too many customers at the same time and started to shortcut people. I witnessed a customer complaining that she only did half the highlights (Susan only highlighted half the hair) than at the previous salon. I felt bad for this customer. It was a sixteen year old girl. Even after the girl's mother noticed that not all of the hair was highlighted Susan refused to finish the job. Susan stated that she did not have time since she was late with another customer already. If you do decide to go to this beauty salon take plenty of time and make sure the whole hair gets done to your specifications or Susan might shortchange you. Do not be surprised if Susan over-processes your hair and your hair falls out, which happened to me. Thankfully, I found a great beauty salon in Cibolo (Stylin Hair). These ladies are wonderful. They are working on making my hair healthier again. read more
