Pete Garrett has an narcissistic asshole attitude. Guy really thinks he is somebody. Waited over four months for plating service. Which by the way never happened. Then, when I went to retrieve my firearm it was given to me disassembled in a Ziploc bag. And they tried to make me sign some kind of waiver. That didn't happen either. Rude, and unprofessional. Disappointed with my experience. I dropped a gun off to have stock iron sights replaced with new front and rear sights. On the phone before coming in I was told the gunsmith would need to see the gun to give an estimate, so I brought it in. In the shop I was told that I would get a phone call to give me an estimate when he got a chance to look over it. They never called to give an estimate. When I dropped my gun off I also left the new sights that I'd bought online. They came in a bag with all the tools and manuals with them. This bag - and my old sights - were thrown away. I also have posted before and after pictures of the damage done to the slide during the process. Overall for paying over $130, I expected better results and service. read more

I am waiting for a call back on my "repair " It was a slide jam, with one in the chamber. I called and was told bring it in. Ben greeted me, and told me he would address that jam after hours. It was dangerous. Nothing back. I know they are backed up. I expected that. Not pissed. Maybe give the customer a time frame. And if you didn't, then shoot them a text. Ok, just as I review, things worked out with an explanation. I never received a card updating the status of work on my gun. Not Ben's fault. Not the first piece of mail that got lost this season. Anyway, picking up my gun, and Ben called and explained all the work. read more

I've owned a Colt .380 pistol for 50 years that had been needing refinishing for 40 years. Ben at Schlossers brought my pistol back to "as new" condition. Im advising you to NOT go here. Ive tried to give this guy money 4 times, every time this guy acts like he is too busy to care less. Just Tuesday 3.31.15 I tried to have a very simple barrel nut removal done (my new place didn't have a vice, but I got one after this). The upper was already removed and stripped down with even the slip ring loose. All homeboy had to do was put it in the vice and twist off the nut with a wrench I even brought in. He claimed he was too busy to take literally 2 minutes to bust this out for me. I offered him $20 cash to bust it out, still NADA. He went on to say its not a 2 minute job, while we bickered back and forth for 5. He said it would take 5-7 days to get to it. He is a one man band shop that is a snap shot from the 40's.
