When visiting Grandma in Arkansas, there are few things one must do. These things all fall in line with recreating bits of the childhood that was spent with the grandparents... those long and hot summers. 120 degree heat down on the pasture with the horses, dogs, and ticks. On this list is Saturday Mass of course, catching up with her friends on the new stuff from the Yankee up in the big city, and dinner/lunch out at favorite spots. Schlotzky's doesn't count as something we enjoyed back when I was a kid hangin' about, fishing and shooting off my .22 pistol at cans. But since Schlotzky's closed up and moved out of Grand Rapids, this has been adopted in the Fort Smith visit to Grandma's routine. Why? Cause Schlotzky's is the only 5 star sandwich experience around, in my humble opinion. Schlotzky's gets it right with their own bread, their own sauce, signature combinations of flavors, offerings, and condiments. All that and nostalgia to boot. Now that I'm in San Diego, I have seen a Schlotzky's and am very interested in showing Sarah what a 5 star chain sandwich experience is like. Oh, and you can't forget the soups! The soups here! Worst Scholtzkys I have ever been too. I ordered a strawberry chicken salad and they brought it out with no strawberries. When I ask they say they are out. When I inquired why they didn't tell me that when I ordered, no response. Then they bring me 2 whole strawberries and state it's all they have, one was rotten to the core. I then inquired about my missing bread sticks and was told it only comes with the salad if you request them. That's not stated on the menu and at this point one would think they would just give them to me or offer them. The trashcan were overflowing and the bathroom toilet paper holder seriously falls off on you when you pull it out. Soap, nope none in the bathroom and let's not talk about the floors. read more

I've been a loyal Schlotzsky's customer for over 50 years, dating back to my college days in Austin. Unfortunately, the Fort Smith location is by far the worst I've ever visited. Repeatedly, this store fails to honor promotional offers from the Schlotzsky's app--something I've never encountered at other locations. Whether it's a deliberate business decision or a lack of training among staff and management, the result is the same: frustration and disappointment. The tipping point came on November 1, when Schlotzsky's launched a major campaign promoting $5 sandwiches from Nov 1-3. The ads created plenty of buzz, and I assumed the offer would be honored in-store without needing a coupon. Instead, I was told I had to order through the app. I did so, added the offer, and still--no discount applied. I've raised these issues multiple times with both the Fort Smith management and Schlotzsky's corporate customer service. Each seems more interested in deflecting responsibility than resolving the problem. Please don't respond with a generic apology. I know where I choose to spend my money, and it won't be at Schlotzsky's Fort Smith again. read more

This location is a go-to for me from time to time. Today I decided to try the Fiesta Chicken sandwich. Got the small meal deal and it was plenty to fill me up. Generous portion of chicken, fresh ingredients and a great sauce. Plus, the staff were all great and my order came out in a very reasonable time considering it was peak lunch time. Went in today 1/28/23 saw 3 people in the back, they never once looked towards the front end where I was standing. I waited long er than I should and was about to walk out when an employyee came through the front door and went behind the counter, she walked right buy the register I was standing at and went to the second register, never said hello or high to me. I moved over to the second register and then she told me she would help me at the first register, I order and waited (to long) again. I ordered to go and they finally set it out in the service window, they had to rebag it as It wasn't togo ready. To make a sad Schlotzsky's visit sadder when I got home it wasn't the soup I had ordered. I had ordered Baked potato soup, I don't know what kind of soup it was, it wasn't Baked Potato soup. This place would do in a pinch but like most places that advertise themselves as 'delis" they are a long way from comparison with a NYC deli in most every way that matters. I love this restraunt, I come here a lot. Well, after today, that is ending. I stood at the counter for 10 minutes at 10:15 this morning. No one came out to take my order. The guy in kitchen looked right at me while slicing avacodos and the manager standing there talking to him. I finally got fed up and said I was going to Panerra and they laughed. I called them and asked to speak to mgr., young girl gets on phone and when I told her person at counter was me she said she didn't know anyone was out there. Sandwich was great BUT whe it come time to pay up I asked for my senior 10 percent discount She went back to talk to her manager and came back to inform me the only way seniors.got a discount was.by having a special card .
