I explained I needed an appointment ASAP and the nice lady whom I spoke to said I would need to pay a little extra to be seen which was fine. I got there in 5 minutes and after a short wait was seen by the Doctor. He found a small hair in my eyelashes scratching my eye. He carefully removed it prescribed me eye drops and scheduled my follow up for next week. Their office is very welcoming , they make you feel at home and provide excellent service. Ventura store just told me no they didn't have the same pair and nothing more. Then I went to the one in Camarillo and explained what happened and Angie was so nice and told me it must have been a defect by the way they were cracked and told me it was still under warranty so was so nice and looked around to try to find me the same pair. She finally found some but in a different color in Santa Barbara so they shipped it to Camarillo and I got them within a few days December 20. I went back and picked up the glasses and this morning I woke up and they were cracked in the same exact spot as the last pair so since I got this last pair in Camarillo, I decided to go back to that same store since Angie was so helpful and let them know what had happened. When I went in the girl behind the counter greeted me and as I was telling her what had happened from the beginning she was giving me a look as if my story wasn't true in a way and told me well you only get one warranty and I said well I believe it was a defect and then she called to Angie and Angie tried helping me out looking for another frame that maybe my lense could be put into. I recently came in for my eye exam and I wanted to keep my same frames. The main appointment went well. I was contacted when the glasses came in and was told they were broken. Normally, I was told, customers sign waivers when they have their current frames used, since they could break. I was not presented with a waiver, and was told I need to pay a 'discounted' $200 for new frames. I get it, part of business, but when I learned that the lenses were also created too large for the frames, I was told that wasn't why they broke. With this experience, I feel the discount was not ample for what happened, knowing that the lenses were made too large for the frames. I really like Dr. Lee, but will not continue with Oaks because of this dishonesty.

I'm in my mid-40s and obviously needed a different prescription for up close vs far away. Dr. Gary at Family Vision Center didn't even need me to make the suggestion-- he figured it out very quickly during my exam. The progressive lens prescription was spot on the first time, even though my eyes are tricky -- one nearsighted eye, one farsighted eye. I can FINALLY see again (without employing a bunch of tricks like taking my glasses on and off and moving things to exactly the right distance in front of my face). I'm so, so pleased with the excellent quality of every part of my experience with FVC, from the intake person, to the doctor, to the glasses fitting specialist. They have an equipment that can scan the back of the eye to detect any issues. Dr. Skromne took the time to explain and show me what the scans indicated. I did not feel rushed at all, and actually thought they were extra patient with me especially since I kept switching deciding between getting glasses or prescription sunglasses. However, my last visit in 2025 was my final visit. This doctor tried to diagnose me something very serious and recommended that I see a specialist that wasn't even qualified to diagnose the condition he suggested. He also stated what he said were facts about the illness, which were incorrect. Needless to say, he scared me to such an extent...that I did go to a specialist. I didn't have the condition. The handling of it was callous and impersonal. I have moved on to another eye doctor and will never visit this one again.
