After 40years +/_ of being with Dr. Schneider, This new corporate group has no scene of costumer service. I ordered updated prescription lenses for my frames, that I needed for an upcoming trip. Two weeks later I got the call they broke my frames. Understood, they are not responsible for my expensive frame I bought from them the year previous. They said I would need to buy new frames, so I asked to see frames that would fit the lenses made. They said, it did not matter because the lenses were thrown away. Then, I asked how long to get a replacement, 2 weeks. Leaving for a trip in one week. Asked for a refund and they said they would issue one. Nothing said about 25% restocking fee for lenses they trashed. Went elsewhere and received a pair of free sunglasses for driving in a couple of days and they tried to get my glasses as ordered from Total Vision before I left, Came up a day short but at lease they tried to accommodate my needs. BTW both pair of glasses were half the cost from Total Vision. read more

Dr. Schneider is a good guy and a rather caring doctor. However, the staff there is extremely unhelpful. I felt like they were trying to up-sell me on using their advanced equipment. There are hidden fees that they don't tell you about until they give you your bill before you leave. Oh yeah, and they charged my credit card TWICE and would NOT do anything about it! I had to call my bank on a 3-way call with the Doctor's office just so that my bank representative could tell them that they were fraudulently charging my card an extra $230! I went in for contact lenses. I had never been here before, but CVC was recommended through my insurance company's website. My insurance co-pay is $10. I asked them on the phone before I made an appointment if that was the only charge and of course the answer was yes. 'Your insurance will cover it' they said. Of course I knew that I was going to pay for the contacts as well, but I was just making sure that they accepted my insurance. I go in for my visit and after they call me to the back, the first thing they ask me is 'do I want to upgrade my exam.' Upgrade my exam? I did not want my eyes dilated, so it was going to cost an extra $35 for them to turn on their "Special" machine that does the same thing without dilating the eye. (Mind you, this is part of the reason why they were ranked high on the recommendation list, due to their advanced machinery that was supposedly provided to all of their patients. Truth is, no special advanced machinery on your eye exam unless they pay an extra $35. I said no, and left it at that. After the doctor came in and had the exam, I go to pay my $10 co-pay and the lady bluntly says, "That'l be $52.50." I had to ask her to repeat herself literally 3 times. I asked her numerous times what the extra amount was for and she repeatedly answered that it was for the contact lens exam. I said 'isn't that part of the insurance co-pay?' She replied, "No. Your insurance pays for the the eye exam, but there is a $42.50 charge for a contact exam. I wanted to scream: THAT'S THE SAME THING! So I left there a little ticked off. I even had my wife call the next day to make sure that they weren't trying to scam me. She got the same reply. So even my wife asked, what is the insurance for if you are just going to charge your patients an extra $42.50? If I wore glasses then I wouldn't be charged the $42.50? The girl actually didn't even know how to answer that. She just kept repeating herself over and over. It's for the contact exam. It's for the contact exam. After all that, I still ordered my contacts from them. I ordered a year's worth. The day after my order, I checked my balance and noticed that the doctor's office had charged my card TWICE for $230. (My year's worth of contacts were $230). I called them and asked them if they could please refund me the $230 due to an accounting error. They tried to assure me that there was no error and I was mistaken. I told them that the charge literally already came out of my account and that I am not mistaken. The next thing that came out of this woman's mouth is the entire reason that I am writing this review. She said: "Well, that's happened before. Sometimes our machine charges people twice. It might work itself out in about 3-5 business days. Call your bank and work it out with them because we cannot do anything for you." I was in shock! I called my bank and had to patch in the doctor's office on a 3-way call just to get the bank representative to explain that they were indeed charging me twice and that they were performing fraudulent activity if this is a repeating offense, as the woman stated to me. They cannot expect to charge people twice and then "Hope it works itself out in 3-5 business days." That's absolutely UNACCEPTABLE. For those of you thinking of going there, let me save you the hassle. There are MANY other places that are MUCH BETTER. It's just an ugly feeling knowing that the office just doesn't care about its patients. I am a business man and understand the strategic ways to make a sale; however, hidden fees, unexpected charges and charging people twice and not telling them are not strategies for sales. They are fraudulent activities and a sure way to lose all of your patients and never gain any new ones. read more

I recently got an eye test here and while the testing was great, optometrist very knowledgeable, the process of picking out a frame great, when I went to retrieve my finished glasses, which I paid hefty price, as I wear progressive lens and anti glare, they were not the color shown and chosen. The person working with me to check the fit and sizing was rude and just said. "That's what was ordered" IMG_1150.HEIC. I was upset and should have left the glasses, but as my own pair had a terrible scratch right in the middle I just walked out with them. Won't be going back. read more

What a truly amazing, caring, and one-of-a-kind doctor! In the 15 years that I couldn't see him due to a relocation, I had more conveniently seen almost a dozen different specialists all over the world during my extensive travels. None were able to help or show even the slightest desire to help. After wasting so much time and money, I finally decided to travel far and make a special trip just to go back to Dr. Schneider, who had originally prescribed me the one pair that I always resorted back to. Without knowing just how far I travelled just to see him, I was extra surprised and reassured of his greatness when he, on his own, dedicated over an hour out of his very busy schedule just to address my problem. I have been going to Dr. Schneider for I don't know how long. He always takes his time with me, discussing my issues and looking for answers to my vision problems. I really trust him. I've been helped by Dr. Chow in the past and she was also very caring. All the ladies working there make you feel welcome immediately and are very sweet. Today, Cherissa helped me select my new frames, which is no small feat. Let's face it, when you wear glasses 24/7, it's like wearing the same dress every day and it has to be right! Cherissa helped me pick out at least a dozen frames to try on and we narrowed them down together. She didn't rush me and I felt like she had my best interests in mind, finding me the best fitting and best looking frames. I felt I could trust her opinions and was very happy with the result. In between exams, whenever I need an adjustment or something, they are happy to help me. You might be able to pay less, but you will never get this service anywhere else. read more

I have been coming here for almost 30 years. I am severely myopic and also have astigmatism - in other words, my eyesight is lousy! I'm very particular about my optometric care and visited several optometrists before I was referred to Dr. Schneider. He is a very conscientious and caring provider. The office is equipped with state-of-the-art equipment (even though my insurance does not cover the inner-eye camera, it's worth the extra $$ to skip having my eyes dilated). This is a review on DR. Schneider. I usually see Dr. Chow who I really like, but during my Lasik procedure Dr. Schneider literally squeezed me into his schedule even right when the store opened. He was very helpful for a last minute procedure and He was very thorough with his pre and post operation examinations and he really took his time to ensure I had all my questions answered and I didn't feel rushed. I have never had an excellent eye care exam before and I've had eye exams plenty. But this place, was leaps and bounds over anything I had ever experienced. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable, courteous and answered my myriad of questions respectfully. I was very concerned about some eye issues and opted to get a retina xray which cost a little bit more but I'm so glad I did. I did not want my eyes dilated and I did not want to wait to make sure that things were great with my eyes. The machinery is clean, state of the art and very patient friendly.
