Schneider's is a great discount saddlery / tackstore in the Cleveland area. Originally, it was my favorite go-to shop at QH Congress and mail catalog, but little did I know that they had a brick and morter in the Chagrin area. Schneider's has great tack, horse and equestrian supplies, clothing, saddles, boots, cowboy hats, etc. Both English and Westernwear. It's a must stop for local equestrians. The horse blankets are what I usually buy since I REALLY like a bellyband model. I have a 'very expressive' OTTB- I call him my big red princess- who likes to roughhouse with his pasture buddies and is very hard on his blankies. He also hates the cold but amazingly, is growing a coat this winter. Michigan winters are all over the map as far as daily weather, so the selection of fit and weight that Schneider's provides is exceptional. Absolute worst experience and customer service. I ordered 3 blankets on Nov 29, 2017. As of today, Feb 15, 2918, I still have not received my order. Called mid Dec, to have the customer sercice rep, tell me that the order couldn't be processed because of something I did (the blankets were to be embroidered). Lady was more concerned with telling me what I had done wrong, then fixing the problem. She then said the order would be arrive in time for Christmas, as the blankets were gifts for friends. Trying to cancel my order and get a refund, still waiting to hear back from the company via phone or email. read more

I am SO disappointed! I have purchased 2 of their insulated dog coats in the past.....and they are wonderful! So when I needed a 3rd coat my first choice was Schneider's. BUT...... I made a mistake on the original order...and it has been a 2 1/2 month long exercise in frustration, multiple returns, long email threads with customer service. I finally gave up. Having to pay shipping both ways was not cost effective for the original shipment and 2 returns. Now, trying to get a refund has been another exercise... and the credits are StILL not what I owed. I would normally highly recommend this company. I've had some crappy luck with costumer service lately. I ordered a 1680 denier turnout sheet & was very pleased with how quickly I received it. I later discovered it had not been waterproofed like the page had said. So I immediately called to get a replacement. The replacement was supposed to be shipped out October 26th according to customer service & they were to email me a return shipping label. It's now been 10 days with no response to my emails. I called to see what the status was & my replacement was never shipped. I'm very disappointed in the quality of service. read more

I emailed and called them several times to address many issues that I had all with the same order. Two weeks after placing my order I was informed that they were out of stock in one of the items and sent me a comparable product that was 10$ CHEAPER and have not refunded the difference (it has been several weeks now) and they also sent me the wrong item for one of the other things in my order. When I contacted them about this, I was given another email to get in touch with and never received a response. VERY poor customer service and I will not be ordering again. read more

Quality of the blankets seems nice, but since they don't cover returns purchasing fitted items (like horse blankets) you could end up with a return shipping cost that half of the cost of the blanket. I would recommend a better ran online retailer. read more

Schneider's Briton V-tek turnout sheet wore a 5x2 inch, 1/3 inch-deep wound on my horse's withers, causing a horrible infection and necessitating several visits from the vet, including antibiotics. The vet said the pressure of the blanket at the wither caused the wound and it was working its way to the spine, which you could see through the flesh. I have successfully been using turn-out blankets for many winters, on up to 10 horses per year, with never any problem. I have never used a "V-tek", cut-back type blanket before, and never will again. Schneider's uses a heavy, course material for their blankets. The blankets are much heavier than most other high-denier blankets. read more

Bought turnout for senior quarter horse in November leg straps came off contacted Schneider re: leg straps coming off w/belly band turnout. Yesterday bellyband hanging off too. When I contacted Schneider was told yes in warranty and yes I could take to repair and they would reimburse me. Yeah...where? and why its an almost new turnout!!! Why don't you send me another! I ordered a blanket for my wife 11 days before Christmas. I paid the expedited shipping just to make sure it arrived on time. Never got a confirmation email, no email with tracking info, nothing. I had to call probably 10 times to speak with their crumby customer service to get this info. I had to call again two days before it was supposed to be delivered to find out they hadn't shipped it yet. On top of that, they held the shipment hostage trying to get me to pay for two day air shipping after they forgot to ship it the week before. This is on top of the shipping and expedited shipping I already paid. At the end of the day, the blanket will not be delivered before Christmas, leaving me screwed. If I could have given less than 1 star I would have. Buyer beware! read more

The sales clerks were so sweet and helpful, and I feel confident my California-coated geldings will be warm and cozy in their first Ohio winter with their new blankets. The BEST dog raincoats! It's always amazed me that I couldn't find a good raincoat for the dog - one that's easy to put on, really keeps them dry & warm and is well made. Schneider has nailed it with the Dura-tech Insulated Rain Coat! It's easy to put on and doesn't bother even squirmy dogs and only has one fastener that holds it well and comfortably in place. These things are so well made that, sad as it is to think about, I can imagine that they will easily last well beyond the lifetime of any one dog. And they're priced at or below the cost of crummy ones I've tried before. Really impressive. My sister, who knows of Schneider from her horses, got two of these and between me and my siblings we now have 5 - for all of our small dogs. read more

I was very disappointed in my experience ordering from this company. I paid for expediated shipping on my very large order. They delayed my order, didn't let me know, and when I called to ask why, they were impolite and rude; the rep spoke to me as if I were a child. They didn't offer to compensate for the delay in any way--they pretty much said "too bad, get over it." If I didn't have an Arabian, I wouldn't be purchasing from them again. My fiancé has been asking for a pair of cowboy boots for the longest time. Honestly, I couldn't bring myself to buy them for her since a) she doesn't ride horses and b) she isn't a cow girl. Since Christmas is around the corner, I decided to skip my annual go-to Uggs purchase this year and instead decided to buy her a nice pair of winter boots that have the "country flair" I assume she is looking for. I found a nice looking pair of country boots by Ovation on Schneider's website. Being the awesome fiancé that I am, I know her tastes and I know she'll LOVE them. Wasn't super stoked that I needed to call to ensure availability in her size - I don't even like calling in take-out orders - but the price was right and shipping was free, so I went with it. First time ordering from them. Since items required freight quote I called to place order instead of online. First call to place order, very friendly and helpful. Follow-up days later after a txt from Este shipping. Link was stopped by Google as breaking some sort of standards, so I called SStack. The gal couldn't find my order, nor could I online. But she would call me back in 30min. 5 hours later I called back. Next gal said they already shipped it. THEY SAID they would confirm with me BEFORE shipping as they need a quote. Shipping cost was almost as much as the product. DO NOT TRUST. Their attitude was, well that's how we normally do it, but its on its way. This review is less then complimentary for Schneider Saddlery. Some time ago I purchased a used Joseph Sterling Millennium cutback saddle. If anyone has purchased this saddle you have found out it is very expensive. I paid $1,000 used and although the saddle showed natural wear there was specific areas which was worn down to the hide above the front of the seat area....poor tanning. I have called customer service several times and never got any satisfaction. Since this saddle was made by Schneiders, I asked for a bottle of saddle dye to fix the problem areas. They told that they didn't carry dye and because I purchased it used there was nothing they could do. After several calls and the same answer, I called Eric Schneider (owner) and never received a call back. The last lady I spoke with (of importance) told me she was going to get in touch with the company and get back to me (never did). Called three more times and never did speak with this women. The last call made someone in customer service told me they would send me saddle dye in Havana Brown which was what I asked for several months before. I told them that I had already purchased leather dye to fix the existing area on this saddle. Why was it necessary for me to make so many calls to Schneider Saddlery? After several years of purchasing horse products from Schneiders this incident turned me off for good. Very poor customer service and owner interaction. read more

AWFUL customer service and poorly made blankets. I have bought tons of stuff from Schneider's throughout the years. Bought blankets that have clearly come apart at the seam from being poorly made, yet they still find any excuse not to replace the blanket and put all blame on the horse, even when its clear the horse could not have caused the problem. Buyer beware, do not buy blankets from them not only because of the poor quality but if you have a problem, they try to get out of replacing them any way they can. I watched the video for measuring dogs - been measuring horses for over 50 years - but there was no chart for sizing. So, the dog rain coats were too small. Paid shipping to send them back, paid shipping again for larger ones. So, I spent over $23 on shipping for two rain coats for my farm dogs. There aren't even tail straps to keep the coats from sliding sideways. Don't order from Schneiders for your dogs. Save the shipping and shop local. read more

So I have been there twice in the past two weeks. The sales staff is not helpful at all. They don't know anything about there products. And when I went to try pants on I asked if there was a mirror for a better look. The sales girl gave me a cocky response that there was one in the dressing room. Obviously I saw that one but since they are so tiny and you could barley move around in there I was hoping for a better look. All she had to say was no. There was no need to get sarcastic. I've order over $1000 of horse supplies over the last 4 months. I ordered an item on 6/3/16 with 2 day shipping. The charge for this shipping was $33. It is 6/14 and I still do not have the item. I call these folks who praise there customer service on 6/6 and informed them that FedEx was not going to ship to my door , viewed on tracking, but was waiting for me to pick it up at FedEx. Needless to say the fine folks at Schneider did not bother to call their shipper and ask that the delivery be made to my door. I received a post card, dated 6/10, from FedEx letting me know I could pick up the item. I emailed the fine folks at Schneider on 6/13 after receiving the post card and called the director of customer service but the fine folks at Schneider do care enough to explain what happened and why they did a very very bad job. Great products. ABSOLUTE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!!!!!!! Many, many problems receiving items from this company. Always passing the buck when it is THEIR label that is faulty and they refuse to fix, or even to address the problem!! I will NOT spend my days trying to track down my packages that are ALWAYS being left at abandoned houses, while showing as being delivered. Totally unacceptable. After many contacts with this company and encounters with rude, snotty, 'helpless' customer service representatives...I AM DONE!!! When called on the carpet, they only provide LIP Service to help themselves to look better than they are. DON'T BUY IT PEOPLE!!!!! They have gone seriously down-hill. I own very many horses and I have a lot of friends that also do; we will continue to need products for them, just not from this company. I ordered a blanket from Schneiders and the quality was great, but it was to big for my horse so I sent it back for a return. That is when the issues started. I had never ordered from them before. Once they received the blanked back it took a week and a half to process the exchange, then 2 more weeks to let me know that the blanket I wanted to exchange for was sold out for the year and now 2 more weeks just to receive my money back for the original blanket I ordered and sent back. So frustrating to work with and took unreasonably long. Not to mention it's full winter season by now in WI. Never will do service with them again and would suggest to others not to as well. If you know the item will fit your horse then your ok, but if exchanging you will have to wait a very long time for results. read more

This review is for their online store. My first time ordering from Schneider will also be my last. I ordered an item that was promoted as coming with a bonus accessory (not limited to while supplies last, just a bonus). This was a contributing factor in my decision to purchase this particular item from this particular vendor. When I received my order the accessory was not included. I called the customer service and explained the situation. The customer service rep put me on hold to "talk to her manager" and about ten seconds later (wow rep and manager must be very fast talkers!) said she discussed it with her manager, who manages the online descriptions, and this item never had the accessory I must have gotten confused with a different item. So I email them with a screen shot showing the item promoted with the description. I was told that was the manufacturer's promotion not from them. I asked them to send me the accessory "or its equivalent" - different brand/whatever and was flatly denied. So I asked them for a return label so I can return the item which was not as described. They refused to do this too! They have forever lost me as a customer - and if you're a fellow horse person you know we always have more things we need. read more
