When this location opened I absolutely loved it. It was warm and inviting. It had a very comfortable feel. They recently remodeled. I don't know why. I have a feeling they were trying to "Keep up with the Jones". There is a new Dierbergs being built close by. I am very disappointed with their choice of design. It feels like a cattle call at the registers. The choice of colors makes you feel like you're in a Sam's or Costco. The aisles are very long. I liked how they were divided before. It has lost that hometown feel it had before the remodel. I used to go there at least once a week. Now I have gone once in the last month. It just is not the same. I'm very disappointed. read more

The Picadeli salad bar is great! Holiday displays at the front of the store will have you putting things in your cart you didn't even know you needed. Grab some local cheeses and beverages. A bouquet of fresh flowers. Greeting cards. All of the usual supermarket suspects are present. I dig the layout here. I've been shopping here since it opened. I really liked the way everything was arranged. Now, they're doing a remodel where they're moving everything around and it's hard to find what you're looking for. Just because some consultant says that a change is needed doesn't mean that it's true. They have to recommend a change even if things are perfect or else they don't look like they're doing anything. Again I shopped at this Schnucks on Sunday and just went to buy Just Bare boneless, skinless chicken breasts. There were 3 packs and one had expired 2 days earlier and the other 2 expired that day. This is my favorite Schnucks store. They have a very good selection and they give you discounts and rewards too. They also are on The Upside app which will give you a refunds based on how much you spend. They have good produce, a very good beer, wine and alcohol selection. I just left this store, that I frequently buy groceries from. I had the unfortunate experience of stopping by to pick up two bottles of wine this evening and decided to pick up some other items that would work with things I needed to eat or throw away this weekend...plus snow in the forecast so who knows what's going to happen this weekend. I digress. I had a hair appointment this past week, prior to Thanksgiving, that I had to reschedule so my grays are popping like tinsel on the tree. I say this because those two bottles of wine that I stopped by the Schnucks that I frequent caused the woman on lane 13 to request my ID. I had just worked all day and last minute stopped by to grab the wine and ended up grabbing a few extra items so, I didn't think, as a 46yo with Apple Pay who never brings her ID into the local grocery store, that this woman was serious. My daughter can legally purchase alcohol! But, alas she was dead set, that my two bottles of wine were going to be the hill she dies on this evening. I explained I didn't have my id and asked if it was really necessary. I've worked all kinds of customer service jobs, I'm a decent human, I wasn't rude. She assured me it was state law and I was not going to be leaving with the wine. I calmly explained that I would not be purchasing anything else if that was the case and left the store fuming. I have great face cream but it's not working miracles and I still have wrinkles. I have delayed my recent hair appointment, I have tons of grays showing right now. I am not going to be confused with anyone remotely close to the legal drinking age. I wasn't trying to buy anything that would be considered something that minors would have sent me in to buy. A lovely Pinot noir, a ln Italian red blend, Boursin cheese, a box of pasta, multigrain Cheerios...come on! These are not the foods of a young person, they are loaded with fiber! But here I am, at home still ticked off because the checker on aisle 13 does not have any regard for common sense and customer service. She's not saving minors from getting their hands on alcohol. She just ruined my night after a long day of work and made sure I do my grocery shopping elsewhere. 0/10 would not recommend attempting to spend money here. They don't want it. read more

This was a nice little grocery store. I stopped here on the way home to see if I could find some of the local favorites that I'd fallen in love with. They don't have the biggest selection but they have a lot of great items. The best part is the alcohol selection. They certainly have quite the variety of libations. This store reminds me a little of my beloved Wegmans in NY. The produce department is large and in charge with beautiful fruits, veggies, and plenty of organic options. They have prepared food departments where you can get sushi, sandwiches, subs and pizza. The meat department carries a decent variety of antibiotic-free meats with no added hormones. The floral department is near the entrance of the store so you can grab some flowers for Lovey and make a quick exit. Good variety of brand name almond milks which are reasonably priced. There is a small selection of GF items but there may be more throughout the store. There is a bank located inside the store, Redbox, lotto machines, a huge wine department that promotes wine drinking with a larger discount (15%) for purchasing 6 or more bottles on Wednesday vs other days of the week (10%). It still isn't a Wegmans which ranks 5 stars on my scale. It's probably 4+ stars, rounded up to 5. read more

I shop at this Schnucks at least once each week-- sometimes other days, too, if I find I need to pick up extras. I've found the customer service to be fine, the layout is fine, and their rotation of product is mostly fine. There have been a few times I've found expired product on shelves waiting to be bought. My biggest complaint is that they don't consistently remove sale price tabs under products. I think I'm buying a product for a price that's cheaper than what rings up at the register. Of course, if I remember to review the receipt before leaving, I can wait, and talk to someone at customer service. They have to investigate, but will refund the difference. I make the point because this is an ongoing problem. It happens ALOT. Otherwise, this store is fine. I will continue going there. read more

I am just not used to the layout. A quick errand for a few items was complicated by the size & layout. It took me awhile to find pre-made cookie dough. The two outside entrances seemed to be funneled into the same center entrance into the store. I am sure with time & experience I could really like this new store. read more

I recently stopped in and had my shopping cart stop as I was exiting the store. I was stunned!! Someone came up and "released my cart" and merely apologized that sorry but they have a lot of theft. I will never shop in this store again!!! read more

Good things - The array of produce is much better than anything else in St. Charles; the meat counter is the best around short of Valenti's; the liquor/beer/wine section is the most extensive in the area. Ok things - The deli counter has a both Schnucks and Boar's Head meats to buy but there is often a long wait time to get help. But the cheese selection is nice. Overall, this is a great addition to our neighborhood, hopefully they will continue to keep a good selection of choices. read more

customer service woman with long blonde hair (Pam) treated me like I was a thief because their computer glitched, and it even said approved on the debt machine. So it turns off right in the middle of my transaction for (63.85)... three people went to handle it, and nobody could figure it out. I said three different times can you just write my number my name down I'll pay for it and you can give me my money back after.... She ignores me or maybe she didn't hear me. I don't know.... But I fucking said it. After 20 minutes of holding me hostage in their store, she walks around the courtesy counter to my cart and acts like she's going to put it up. Then, I said you know some people are going through some shit; and she says I'm going through some shit. She waits until she gets to the counter to tell me her mother in law is dying and I just started bawling my eyes out mid sentence. My brother died 8/4/21; and my husband died 1/4/22. My best friend killed himself 8/25/20. my grandma died 12/12/2019. One death every single yr. My brother and my bester died less than a yr apart. Nothing is normal anymore. I'm always sad. Not including I've been living in a hotel and being harassed and forgotten by my leasing management for 2.5 months. We got back in the day this woman took it upon herself to embarrass and disgrace me. They told me I couldn't leave; not with my groceries that I just paid for. Although I showed her my app that showed her the money was taken. I'm going to believe the government computer over Schnucks any day. Yes it's EBT. I'm done being embarrassed of it. The ones who hate on you for it can't get it and I'm sorry that's the way things are but I got a feed my kids and I'm gonna do it anyway I need to show EBT is how I do it. This woman help me hostage in the store and forcefully made me pay a second time. After screaming out EBT, 15 to 20 different times to her coworkers over and over again, and all these customers are staring at me as they walk through. But this time I'm bawling, my eyes out in this fucking woman has the nerve to like literally asked me if I have a rewards account number. I am not gonna come back here.; I'm not spending my money here anymore. Keep your damn rewards.. I called back to customer service and three other people and reported her and requested that the dude that works the self check out get a raise for having to deal with the B.I.T.C.H. every day. I said I don't want any compensation except my money back which they even charged more than what I had to pay cause I only owe 6385 and she charged and 6510 to the second time. After multiple visits and countless laps around this place, I think it has officially become my favorite place to get groceries, and, effectively, one of my go to lunch spots. My first trip here was quite the introduction, as I walked into a store wide event with booths set up in multiple aisles featuring tastings of a number of different beer brands, none of which I had ever heard of. I'm no beer guy by any means, but it was nice to have a chance to try some brands I may never have tried before, and hosting events like this will make me at least pay attention. Most of the rest of my time here has been a lunch stop, where the salad bar has been a weekly stop for me. Along with the salad bar, there is a decent sized selection of hot foods, pre-made sandwiches, soups, and desserts. Despite all the options for the food, I think my favorite feature of this particular Schnucks is the mini checkout counter for the entire lunch area. Forget taking that salad to the main registers for checkout, just pay at the lunch checkout and be on your way. It's a fantastic feature that I use every time! Aside from great events, and an awesome lunch selection, this Schnucks stocks the most beer variety of any grocery store I have ever visited. The rest of the store is clean, neat, and organized beyond expectation, and it has been a great shopping experience for me at each visit. read more

I have never felt so appreciated at a grocery store in my life. The employees are very inconsiderate of the customers. I started shopping there between 6 and 7 AM on Saturdays because I did not trust the employees. I was almost run into by a an employee pushing a shopping cart. I prefer to bag my own groceries because when my groceries are bagged by one of the employees, I have found both broken and missing items that I paid for after going home. At the self check-out lanes, I was yelled at by an employee. He said, "You shouldn't bring a cart in here!" I reported it to the manager and he said, "I don't know why you shouldn't be able to bring a cart in here." I guess he changed his mind and now the employees are running the store and that is why they are allowed to treat the customers so rudely, there is a lack of leadership. I could understand if the store is busy, however, between 6 and 7 AM on Saturday there are hardly any customers. Therefore, customers should be able to use the self check-out lanes whether they have a cart or not. The employees at this location do not appreciate the customers. I called other Schnucks locations in the St. Charles area and was told that customers are allowed to use any register at any time. I will be looking for another store to shop at and spend my weekly hundred dollars on groceries where the employees and leadership appreciate their customers, Lindenwood Schnucks does not. I work too hard for my money to waste it at store where the employees and management do not appreciate their customers. I wonder if this is just a beginning of Schnucks's new attitude towards it's customers? read more

Overall if you are in this area and you prefer not to go to a Wal-Mart and do not mind paying more for your groceries, then this place is alright to go to. They tend to have what you're looking for in stock. They have a decent produce area but nothing special. They do have a salad bar and also a good lunch-to-go area that's easy to grab a sandwich, chips, and a soda to go or eat there. Also, they do accept Apple Pay which is a nice feature that not a lot of stores have active yet. From going here several times now I can say the customer service here is average on a good day. You do pay a little more for your items here for the service of bagging; on several occasions I have had to bag my own groceries even when it hasn't been busy. The people at customer service have been somewhat rude when I have had a question or have had issues with the self-checkout area. Since this store is within a half-mile of my house, I tend to find myself going here more often now than driving somewhere else, however if I'm not busy and do not mind driving to another grocery store then I tend to go somewhere else for cheaper groceries. read more

I can't believe I haven't written a review for this store yet. It's now the closest Schnucks to my house and also the closest grocery store to my house (although IGA might be a tad closer, it's a lot smaller.) Was pretty excited for the opening of this store. While I find Dierbergs to be acceptable, their prices are also pretty outrageous sometimes (at times entering the Whole Foods/Paycheck realm of insanity) so I am glad I can drive a shorter distance to get cheaper food at the same quality or better. But there are still items they simply do not carry at this store, e.g. Soy Vay. I was crushed when I saw they didn't have it. But instead of going to Dierbergs, I just bought a three pack on amazon, hell yea! You can request that the begin carrying a certain product at the front, though I did this right when they first opened (I wanna say August 2014?) and they never called me about it, so I wonder if they just couldn't get it thru the distributor or what? Either way, not the end of the world, just a point I wanted to note. I like the sushi counter because there's this one really friendly dude who has my favorite combos memorized and he sees me coming and knows what's up. I usually grab that, and a bottle of wine, or two, or three.... their wine prices still can't beat TJ's unless there's a sale, but whatevs. Until they open a TJ's in St. Chuck, I don't mind coming here. Nice, new, and clean. Unfortunately, every time I go to check out, there's ALWAYS a person in front of me paying with a check. I was like....wtf. Bro, do you even credit card? It wouldn't be a pain or anything normally, but in the particular instances in which I had the misfortune of getting sandwiched into a lane with said check writer in front of me, the individual made an error, or the cashier made an error, which led to the whole thing becoming a 5-10 minute ordeal. At which point all of my crap was already on the conveyor and I just shrugged and stood there reading trashy magazines and forcing myself to not start eating kit kats. :P Really not a Schnucks problem as much of a weirdo St. Chuck people thing. lol. The new Schnucks is close to my house, so I have been going there as opposed to 'my Dierbergs' which is a few miles farther. Prices are reasonable. The store caters to the university student, which I like. It always seems clean, although I did see a mouse run across the entryway and into the wood bundles once. The checkers are slow. Twice I have been behind people who were using checks, stamps, or cards to subsidize their grocery bill. Both times the checkers could not figure out how to credit the charges. Management came to help, but they struggled as well. In both instances the customer was embarrassed and frustrated. One even turned to me and apologized for holding up the line. I feel like the manager should have acknowledged the customers in line- or opened another register. Also, there are not enough cart corrals near the store. read more

I used to be loyal to Schnucks and I was so excited for this new store to open closer to home so I could start shopping there more frequently again. However, I just returned home from the fourth trip in a row in which this Schnucks was of multiple basic ingredients in the produce department. I ended up walking out and driving over to Dierbergs on Zumbehl where I found everything I needed in half the time it takes me to pick my way through the new poorly laid out Schnucks. The store layout is not at all intuitive - this is probably done to encourage you to browse and buy more than you intended but I like to get in and out of the grocery store as quickly as possible and find it frustrating that I still cannot find the basics without going on a scavenger hunt every time I'm in the store. The staff is really nice and I love the craft beer selection in the liquor department but I simply do not have the time to make extra stops every time I grocery shop because Schnucks can't keep basics in stock. read more

This Schnucks is definitely one of the more hipper grocery stores around because of Lindenwood being across the street, there are always new faces with more livelihood wears and/or punk rock attire. Anyone that I've spoken with that works there has always been more than helpful. And the store's overall appearance and environment is great! read more

Awful experience! Physician sent order to Schnucks Pharmacy on a Monday. It is now Friday and still can not get medicine. Physician called insurance and was notified that no pre authorization needed. Now pharmacy will not fill prescription due to computer stating the need for authorization. Called insurance and found it was Express Scripts keeping pharmacy from filling prescription due to a policy. I was told I can pay out of pocket if need be. The procurement of prescription being filled is arduous with everyone playing doctor. I have been on this prescription for 10 years without any deleterious effects. read more

They told me at least 3 times that my order was not in their computer which I thought was odd, then I called my doctor and they told me, they did send it, I was wondering did they send it to the wrong place or something? No, my stuff was ready, the stupid girl "Mackenzie" did not know where to look apparently in their computer system? I guess she's new? But don't tell me my order is not there when in fact it IS. Finally after the 5th time of her looking for it, I finally got it. Then when she, the "pharmacy tech" swiped my debit card and it came back declined but the funds are fine. I don't know what she did when she swiped it, but now my bank has to send me a new card for whatever she did to my debit. she asked me FOR my pin number. um, no. I am calling the manager tomorrow, Repeat!..don't use their pharmacy! what a mess. I have to change pharmacy now. This place gets three stars for convenience of location, good variety, and nice layout. HOWEVER on no less than 3 separate occasions i've gotten home to realize at least one or two things i purchased were past their expiration date. This location is terrible about rotating out their products so beware. You would think i'd learn by now, but i usually go get groceries after ive worked a 12 hr midnight shift and i dont always remember to check everything, especially if im tired and in a hurry. I also had an incident where the cashier bagged some of my groceries while i bagged the rest. She forgot to hand me the hamburger i purchased for dinner from behind her station and didnt notice because i was also bagging. So also make sure you leave with all your bags. read more
