I was in the Cherry Valley area earlier today, and needed to grab a couple of items for a July 4th cookout. I came across this store Schnuck's Supermarket - it's a massive grocery store - imagine a bigger jewel Osco. They have a nice selection of groceries, but I also found that I can get a lot of the same groceries for more cheaper from Jewel Osco or Mariano's or Aldi/Walmart. It's fine if you want to come see a different grocery store, but nothing too special I guess. read more

Love shopping at schnucks. Great meat department and fish department and deli. Only complaint I have is their avocados. Always old and mushy. Get better avocados at Walmart. read more

Prices are a bit high. Some employees in the deli and some cashiers are very disrespectful and rude. Some are not very customer service orientated. Terrible store to seek friendly and customer focused staff. Just awful. read more

Found Buffalo trace for under retail price. Okay selection. Don't forget to check behind the register for more bottles. They have many bottles at or below retail/msrp. They do sell buffalo trace products as well. read more

Military veteran parking always wins points in my book and it's nice to see it in Illinois as well. I've always liked the unique selection of items I can find here. I also like that McDonalds shares the same parking lot if you're looking for a quick bite to eat. read more

Great prices and wide verity of products. Also very conveniently located. Staff was helpful and friendly. I'll be going back here for sure!

If you remember Logli's, this is basically the same place. They just changed their name to the parent company. This location isn't the biggest or flashiest one of their stores, but it's pretty nice. The Deli, Seafood and Meat counters are all good ones. The staff is friendly when helping you. The liquor department has a decent selection of beer, wine and spirits.The rest of the store is clean and well stocked. Again, this isn't like one of their flagship stores such as the State St. Location, but it is a nice smaller neighborhood one. read more

The reason I shop Schnucks is it's the closest grocery store to my home. I shop sale, as regular prices are super high compared to valli. The workers are always very nice, I almost always get the same man at checkout, Kevin. The store is clean and organized. My only complaint is every single time a sales item is missed and I pay double what I'd ever pay on said item. It aggravates me and I don't go back for at least month. read more

I will not order groceries through Instacart again, pickup or delivery. Sure, the website promises 'free pickup', but all the prices for groceries are more expensive online - and pickup is subject to change without advance notice. Loads of excuses, from 'it's the holidays' to Covid... You have to prepay too, so don't use a credit card. You will find, as I did eventually, that the order was going to take TWO DAYS to complete - no guarantees, and that a refund will take FIVE TO TEN BUSINESS DAYS. Instacart has no problem taking your money, but getting them to give it back is like getting a politician/real estate developer to pay his taxes. This is the primary reason I won't recommend this service. If my knees ever heal up, I'll shop in store again (my back and hip are never going to) - but I'll make the effort to go to a different vendor. read more

This place has gone downhill so much it's almost unbelievable. When I drove into the parking lot at 10:30 AM on a Wednesday, I noticed there were carts all over the parking lot, including blocking two handicapped parking spaces. I get inside and couldn't help but notice 5 employees standing around twiddling their thumbs, looking bored to death. Once again, there weren't any electric carts for my mom to use (she has a back injury) I take that back, there were two available carts but the batteries were completely dead. It would be different if this were the first time this has happened or even the second, but this has happened at least 5 times now. I asked to speak to a manager but one never showed up and after waiting several minutes, we left. We used to love shopping here but we will NOT be back even though we'll have to drive across town to shop. read more

We stopped here over July 4th weekend 2014 and we still talk about it now 5 months later. Mostly, we can't remember the name of the place. We bought items to share at a family reunion and I bought a travel size of Secret deodorant. We picked out a fruit plate that was only marginally appealing. I checked prices at a few places later and determined that Schnuck's charged almost double that of other places for the deoderant. Next time I'm in the area, I'll take my business elsewhere. Every year elementary teachers spend 100's on their students so it's great when companies donate goods. Lots of teachers go to grocery stores for brown paper bags. They are a life saver at supply drop off and good for crafts. I went today to get 21 bags for supply night. The cashier was very rude about it, so I asked if there was someone else to ask. She went to the customer service desk, came back and said 21 is too many and only gave me 10. I spent $16 on goldfish crackers , I guess I should of asked for a refund since they were rude. read more

11 o'clock on a Saturday store shelves empty floor disgusting checkout lines backed out into the aisles is a walk by the front the manager and two other people are just standing around talking the baging job I had to do myself. We used to shop at the Schnuck's in Dekalb before we moved, never had any complaints. This location has a decent enough selection of brands and sometimes some bargains on sale. Unfortunately on my last visit the cashier rang up 2 grapefruits priced at 2//$1 as French Pears which priced by the pound came out to nearly $6. When we took the receipt to the service counter the two employees who came out acknowledged us just long enough for me to inform them of the issue before they began having a completely separate conversation and totally ignoring us until the woman performing the transaction condescendingly handed my husband 68 cents....by this point I was over arguing with employees who didn't seem at all interested in handling a customer service issue or the fact that their cashier couldn't tell the difference between a grapefruit and a pear, so I left without argument (and made sure to check the sign on the way out which did in fact advertise 2/$1 grapefruits). I will not be visiting this location again. read more

Overpriced and lack of selection - but for rockford it has a lot of selection. Since most people in Rockford are trashy I expect the selection to be pretty bad, yet they have a market area with special meats and cheeses and the deli guy is pretty friendly and helpful. The rest of the store offers a selection enough to keep the rockford trash happy - by no means is this rockford trash store as good as the worse suburb grocery store - but for rockford it has selection good enough for the trashy people that walk its streets. Love Schnucks! Tried their Lasagna today for lunch at work and it ROCKED! Big enough for me to save half for tmrw. Only thing I would change, would be adding more marinara sauce. I also picked up their chicken meal for my family, it cost $13.99 and I received 8 pieces of chicken, 2 side dishes, and 4 biscuits. My son tore it up! I love Schnucks bc they have a wide selection of almost everything, and very fresh produce. They might not be the lowest price, but it's worth it to me. read more

Ghetto. Staff today who checked out my order never said hi, thank you etc. Who appeared to be the manager was standing in the way gossiping with other cashiers. I had to ask her to move so I could pay. I bought cranberries at a competitor just a day ago which were 2 for $3. Ocean spray. Today these same exact cranberries were $4 at schnucks!!!!! It's not just cranberries Your prices are crazy crazy high. I NEVER EVER buy anything but what might be a good sale price. For example shredded cheese was 1.29. I saw on sale kraft dressing for almost 3.50, and not for the big bottle. Crazy crazy high prices. I will never miss them if they leave our market for good. I will go across town to get way better produce prices at valli ( no way will I pay $4 lb for fresh broccoli. You are nuts) and general shopping will be at woodmans. Please just leave our area schnucks. Your prices are insane, your staff at this location are horrible and you encourage the ghetto gangbanger clientele with your tattooed and pierced employees who are rude . read more

I am finding it more and more difficult to find the items and brands I was able to find here in the past few months especially. The store is very conveniently located to my home so I mostly only shop there for last minute items now. I drive all the way to Woodmans for the bulk of my shopping because they have a much wider selection and still carry the brands and items I am no longer able to find at my neighborhood Schnucks store. I am disappointed that I had to stop doing all of my shopping at Schnucks because they don't carry most items I buy for my family anymore. I love the staff at Schnucks but alas don't see them near as often as in the past. I have a pretty large family to buy for and would estimate Schnucks has lost at least $7k a year in sales from just my family alone. In short, great store limited selection. I feel as tho shopping there now is like shopping at a Walmart grocery. Similar brands limited selection . read more
