A $59.00 bilge pump. He charged me $730.00 but he said he was giving me a deal 10 % off for the month of February so my bill was $677.00 He started the boat and went over everything. Kai called me and said the carburetor needed to be rebuilt. I said that's funny I started it up 3 weeks prior without any problems and the carburetor was fine. Right away he said oh let me go back out and check it a little further. At that point I should have just picked it up knowingly he was trying to rip me off. I hate when companies steal from customers. Customer's are the people paying your bills. It's honestly, loyalty and word-of-mouth that brings in business. I Recommend if you don't wanna get ripped off take it to someone that's honest. This place is far from that!! So Kai charged for service of $400. To do an oils change, fuel filter and to replace a bilge pump. Honestly what mechanic takes 2 1/2 hours to do simple work. I'm posting my receipt to show you how they rip people off.

Jim C. Over a short…read moreperiod of recent time, I encountered three separate issues with my 1988 41' ACMY; 2 involving freshwater leaks (1 hidden) and a non-starting generator. After a couple futile attempts at my DIY repairs, I finely explained my issues to Chris. He immediately identified the most likely causes and solutions. The first was a small leak hidden behind a stateroom wall. I guessed at my solution and installed/plumbed a couple new water lines, blindly routing them behind the wall (pretty difficult effort). My solution was wrong. He identified a suspect inlet pressure valve I was not aware of, and that turned out to be the correct solution (quick and easy). And he had the correct tools to do it. The second water leak was a big issue down in the hull. I found where it was, but it was inaccessible to me. Chris knew how to do it and had me back fully operational the next day. Lastly, my 8kW generator would turn over but would not start. Again, I mentioned that issue to Chris. He immediately concluded corroded wires. Right again! Generator runs great again. Chris quickly identified simple low-cost solutions and got me back operational in almost no time. And of course, his quick, simple solutions saved me significant money.

We were at our wits end and getting discouraged as this was a new engine with less than 100 hours on it. As my wife works in the industry at a business with a similar name, we reached out to see if they could figure out what was causing our issue. Derek was very helpful and courteous as well as thorough with the inspection process. After a couple of days he figured out that water flow was being restricted at the transom due to a clogged inlet that was described simply as "mush". We obtained a new transom and had it installed. Derek called us up and said there was no more steam, the temp was back to normal and the motor was running fine. After picking up the boat, we took it to Elsinore for a test run with no issues. What a relief. For the scope of work performed, the cost was reasonable. That being said, everyone knows what BOAT means! Lol. A big thank you to Derek and the entire staff at Advanced Marine Service! Now we are bound for the river!
