My friend Carole and I went to the old Sun Country location recently and discovered they relocated to Irvin. Because this place is so good at what they do, I made the drive. I like the location they chose, which is right off the freeway but you do have to sort of go through a maze of industrial-complex streets to get there. The people are pretty friendly and the parts department gets you what you need without a hassle. Their showroom is nice, although Carole wasn't impressed, I would have liked to have seen more boats in there since I am in the market for an upgrade. read more

This review is a bit overdue. We bought our first boat from Derek in Feb 2020. He set us up with a 2019 Bennington 22SX. There were only 6 left from previous season and we were grateful to get such a great deal. He set us up with all the basic equipment you need and we got an extra table mount for the back of the boat to accommodate my very pale husband who needs Bimini protection from sun. We have owned a cabin in arrowhead since 2010 and I love the water but always felt a boat purchase was frivolous. Honestly, I wish I had done it earlier in our lives. We have the best time on the lake and we have a private slip on the lake and no trailer. We keep our boat wrapped during the winter and just get the pontoons scrubbed when the season starts. Absolutely love our boat. No regrets on the purchase. Derek also brought the boat up the hill for us and showed us the basics. If you are looking for a fabulous versatile family water sports boat I definitely recommend a nautique! We purchased a 2018 GS22 from sun country on June 21, 2018 and it's fantastic! In no way do we regret the purchase of this awesome watercraft! That said the staff is full of interesting guys. Chandelier our salesman is a sweet kid, but he really doesn't know anything about the boats;however, he is the owners son so lucky for him he doesn't have to be very educated or informative in regards to the product he's selling. Lucky for us we got a great deal due to the fact that he generously miss quoted the sales price. Jeff is your basic high horse sales manager. He was automatically annoyed by our sale due to the price mishap, and mostly due to the fact that I made the decision to start calling him directly in an effort to avoid chandeliers incompetence. He tried to be relatively nice for most of the sale, but god forbid you need anything once you have purchased your watercraft. Actually that's an unfair statement we did get a free carabiner. After we finalized paperwork we had the opportunity to spend an additional $300 in their boat supply shop to make sure we were coast guard legal. Funny how these days you can purchase a $100,000 boat, and not get anything but a free $2 carabiner as a thank you for your business. Matt the service manager has a hard time returning phone calls. Once you get ahold of him he's very nice, but if you have questions or need a price quote for possible upgrades he will need to call you back with answers. Unfortunately that return phone call will never happen. The only shining star in all of this besides the boat it's self is Taylor! He is amazing!!! He is their wakeboard pro who is extremely well versed in the nautique watercraft! He meet us in lake Elsinore to teach us all about our new boat. He really is the one and only reason I have given this business three stars! We asked Taylor so many questions and it turns out that basically everything chandelier told us about our new watercraft was incorrect. Even down to minute details such as to clean the sea deck. I bought a G23 that I had been looking at for years from Jeff Tarin in Ontario. Finally pulled the trigger this year with a 2016. I was really impressed by his knowledge and professionalism. It took a while to get numbers right, but he was available any time I had questions, etc. We even had an unusual pricing issue that he resolved immediately. The least stress I've ever had spending that much money :) Devin is great, knows his boats, knows his parts and is very good at keeping me in the loop whenever he is getting stuff in for me. If you ever have questions about "the stuff", ask Devin. Then there is Mack, he is, in my opinion, the best service manager I've EVER dealt with. I have cars, a boat, RV, and a plane, and no one is as professional, attentive, knowledgeable and communicative as Mack. I have had a bunch of minor issues, as is to be expected with a new boat, and he and the team have made everything right, and never made me feel like I was a burden. He is a true customer service professional. And those are just the main folks that I worked with. Taylor did my demo and got me totally excited about my new boat, and answered all of my on the water questions. I felt like I was ready to surf as soon as I picked up the boat. Where do I begin?.... Let's start with actual quality of work or shall I say lack there of. Took our boat in for a full service last summer. Brought it out to river for 4th of July weekend only to get it on the water, drive 15 min, and have it start overheating (issue we never have had prior). On our way home our trailer which they were to work on as well had an issue (which should have been fixed by them). So my husband, brother and friend spent about an hour in 100+ weather fixing it so we could get home. We took boat back in, they "said they worked on it and it was good to go". Brought it back to the river to have it still not work and have same issue. Now their poor customer service comes into play. Spoke with Manager who didn't care really that any of this happened and that he had ruined 2 family trips. The way he handled the who situation was very disrespectful and unprofessional. Sad to think he's a manager and that's how he handles his customers. Back to boat issue, my husband looked up a bunch of stuff online to Ty and figure out issue and called them to try doing "this", what do you know that fixed. Didn't know you need to tell people how to do their job. A year later we are finally getting our boat back. Haven't taken it out in the water yet so not sure if it's actually fixed this time but I'm really hoping it is. If I could give NEGATIVE stars I would!!!!!! Absolutely phenomenal experience from beginning to end. Olivia, did our financing, should also be working customer service dept. That woman needs a raise!...Being a business owner myself, if this business wasn't 5 hours away I would have offered her a job. Witty, funny, understanding, very professional, and she worked to get us some great numbers while making this process very easy on the buyer. Michael was our sales contact and he too did an excellent job. I think we spoke only 2 times on the phone and everything else was done via text message. Super easy to deal with. We had a miss communication at one point and very professionally we got through it. These things happen when dealing with lots of customers and it was the weekend of the boat show so tons going on. I always say mistakes happen it's how you deal with that mistake that matters and michael got a 5 out of 5. We never even set foot in their facility until we came to pick up the boat. Literally everything was done via phone and text and we drove off with a 2020 Nautique GS20 a week later. Furthermore this company has followed up numerous times to confirm the experience was good and I have been able to reach michael via text a couple times with other questions on the boat. Buyers beware! These guys are bait and switch specialists. After doing my homework and deciding to spend the extra money on a Bennington, I gathered funds with my partners to make a cash purchase. When it came time to cash up the dealer advised me that the price had increased almost 10%. Excuses included that it was their last of this model and there was someone else interested in the boat at their Lake Havasu location. I made my purchase elsewhere 2 days ago and am very happy. We just bought a used boat from Sun Country Marine in Ontario. The salesman Jeff Tarin, was such a great guy to work with. We put the boat on the water and it had no power and started to squeal, I called Jeff immediately and asked him what we could do. Jeff asked me to take the boat over to their store in Lake Havasu and he would let them know we were on our way. We reloaded the boat and headed over to Havasu and were met by 4 gentleman who were so attentive. They jumped right in the boat and had it figured out within 2 min of looking at it. It was the fuel pump. By the time we they were done, we had a new fuel pump, they fixed my running lights on my trailer and had the wheel bearings greased. On our first visit here, we felt like we were intruding while the sales staff was eating donuts, even though we were the only customers at that time. We drove an hour and a half to look at four pre-owned boats which were listed on their website, as well as on boat trader. We were informed all were sold and the sale listings were not updated. There is no information on boat specs available for easy viewing to look at any inventory on your own, yet sales staff makes it clear that if you're not there to buy a brand new boat, they have little interest in assisting you. It's hard to understand the long term business model on that approach, as many younger families are looking to start off with a smaller or pre-owned and then gradually upgrade as their family grows. read more

A BIG zero for their repair and customer service!! We bought a boat contingent on the steering being fixed, it was leaking fluid. The boat owner took it Sun Country for the repair at a cost of approximately $1300.00. We bought the boat and took our first trip to Lake Mohave, NV. Less than 30 minutes into our madden voyage I heard the whine of the power steering. The steering fluid was leaking and was very low. I had to pull the boat and take it to Boulder City NV for repair. A hose was split and two clamps were loose. The hoses went from the steering to the oil cooler. I contacted Sun Country when we returned home. They denied reimbursing the $118 repair. The service manager Josh expected us to end our vacation on the first day and tow the boat 4.5 hours back to their facility in Ontario. They wouldn't accept the repair receipt from Boulder Marine as legit nor did they offer ANY compromise. I'm astonished at the lack of customer service and understanding that I needed to save our vacation by having it fixed at the closest facility. I am equally amazed that they are willing to take a hit on business due to me sharing my bad experience on Yelp and with family and many boating friends. A poor decision by Sun Country, shame on Sun Country and their service manager Josh. read more

I literally walked around inside looking for help and there was no one around. I called this bus. To find out about a boat on their website and was told he would find out the answer to my question and call me back. Never heard from them. Ugh this place stinks. Scared to buy a boat from them.
