I bought my Car at Schomp Mini and I absolutely recommend this dealership to anybody. The highlights were: Excellent customer service, Great value, and Convenience. Customer Service: Excellent. My salesman Gabe was top-notch, patient and not pushy. He let me and my wife test drive a vehicle and look into driving others--he was not pushed for time, and never tried a "now-or-never" technique on us. Once You make the choice to pursue a possible sale, Schomp operates on a get-you-approved in under an hour premise so you don't spend your whole day waiting on the sale. This made me feel respected since dealers can sometimes take all afternoon. On a last note, they have customer Mini-fridges stocked full of all sorts of good drinks and sodas, from coconut milk and bottled ice tea to monster energy drinks. The small things make the difference. Great Value: I had done my research across dealers, blue book, and Craigslist. I knew what the car was worth and what the range of prices I could expect from both private parties and dealerships. I can honestly say that Schomp priced my vehicle at-or-just below what I expected to pay at a dealership. That was made Better by the fact that Schomp does not charge any additional dealership fees: you pay for the car, registration, and taxes. Period. Beyond that, I asked for top-racks for my SUV ( for bikes and kayaks), and a new windshield since the current one had some scratches from previous owner. Gabe said no problem and added them in for FREE, not to mention the vehicle had Brand New Tires! Lastly, Schomp offers a variety of dealer-warranties that are fairly priced. When all was said and done , I got the car, the free add-ons, and warranty for less than I expected to pay. Convenience: Schomp's used vehicles undergo a 100+point quality inspection, so you know you are buying a reliable automobile. Contrast that to a private sale where you may have to take the car to a mechanic before you feel comfortable buying it. Beyond that, Schomp did the financing research and paperwork for me. They found me the lowest financing and payment terms, which were very low, and I didn't hardly have to lift a finger. Past that, they did the registration and sales paperwork for me--no need to go to the DMV and all that. Additionally, when I took my car in to get the Free add-ons, Schomp lent me a Mini rental car for a day, for free. Lastly, throughout the whole process--before, during, and after sale--I had direct access to my salesman who texted me along the way keeping me updated throughout the process. I love the car. I purchased my Mini Countryman from Schomp on October 31, 2015 after about a month of speaking to Trevor Linde about it. It was a hard decision for me at the time to make but was definitely the best. Trevor is the best salesman I have ever worked with. He was very professional and knew what I wanted in a vehicle. I recently brought my mother to purchase a car from Schomp because of the customer service I received from Trevor. Although Trevor was not there that day we still received top of the line customer service. Everyone at Schomp is always professional and make you feel like family. A lot of the sales team, sales managers, service team, and service manager ALWAYS greet me by name and ask how I am liking my Mini. NEVER has any other dealership treated me like one of the family (even growing up in a small town where everyone knew everyone). When I purchased my Mini I did have an issue but Trevor went above and beyond to make my experience a great one. Service Manager Bennett also went above and beyond to make my issue right. I had the worst experience with the service department here - they quoted me over $6000 for repairs. I called around to other european repair shops to find out what a fair price for the needed parts/labor was and the other quotes were less than $2000! They will then nickel and dime you with fees for services that should have been complimentary. As others have noted, this business is highly unethical. Avoid going here at all costs!! read more

I am now the proud owner of a Mini Cooper S, and I couldn't be happier! We wanted to replace our SUV, and I've always liked the look of Minis. The salesman, Nick, was great-- he patiently let me try a few models, go to another dealership to try something else, then come back to try a few more. We weren't rushed at all, and were encouraged to try the cars out on Santa Fe and hilly roads to get the full experience. The roadster ended up just not being feasible, but it was super fun to test. He looked at options for multiple cars and ended up getting me a fantastic lease deal, maintenance included, on a great little car. We had great service from everyone here. The dealership definitely has a unique vibe-- very modern, very cool, almost hipster. I haven't dealt with the service department yet, but I'll update when I do. The customer service is top notch. After having the leases countryman for three years I returned mine. We are downsizing and making a big cross country move. I absolutely enjoyed the car while I had it. When I returned it Matt made the whole process super easy for me. I think Schomp Mini is one of the shadiest dealerships out there. They appear to have really gone way downhill since they've moved to their new location, which you can see from their drop in stars in their Yelp review history. I've kept giving them the benefit of the doubt over and over, giving them another chance repeatedly. Bad idea. Their latest insult when buying a car there, was to make me sign a contract that wasn't one of Colorado's standardized contracts, that would make me liable for the existing body damage that was already on the vehicle if the deal didn't go through. Under the contract, I would have been liable to PAY THEM for the existing body damage already on the car, if I decided not to buy the car after test driving it. When I confronted the General Sales Manager Travis Taggart about it, he made a comment that I felt was very insulting, by trying to play the safety card and claim that the contract was just for the safety of the salesmen (it isn't). Meanwhile they have my driver's license, my home address and phone number that's been in their files for years from previous business, and I'd provided them proof of insurance on 4 other vehicles (including another Mini). Schomp Mini is the only dealership I know who can blow-up an all-cash deal over a problem with their contracts. Don't let anyone jam your signature onto electronic contracts that they try to get you to sign before reading them, and don't provide you a copy after you sign them. Know about Colorado's regulations on dealers using standardized contracts before going in. Or better yet, avoid the hassle and don't go to shady dealerships. +++ UPDATE in response to: "Comment from Emily F. of Schomp MINI Business Employee 12/16/2019 Hi Nick. Yes, we do ask everyone to sign a test drive agreement. It does not leave anyone liable for existing damage, and we even offered to write down the existing damage on the agreement up to your satisfaction. You declined. We will always have to walk a fine line on protecting the assets of the organization, our employees and our good name along with also offering the best customer experience possible. We are sorry this got hung up over our test drive agreement, but it is not something we are willing to change. It has served well to protect our customers, our employees and our assets for decades and has rarely caused the issues it seemed to cause with your visit. We continue to be one of the highest regarding organizations in the state and the country, and while we will never be perfect, we always strive to do our best." +++ This response is another strike against Schomp as another example of shady-dealer-double-talk in my opinion. The contract they presented could leave you as a buyer legally liable for thousands of dollars of damages on the vehicle, and did not have a place in the contract for existing damage to be excluded. It is an electronic slam contract you sign electronically, and they didn't have a way to modify it online to actually exclude existing damages. I would post a copy of the contract to prove it, but as Schomp did not contest, Schomp shadily doesn't give buyers a copy when you sign this very legally binding contract as a necessary part of the sales process. Any claim now that Schomp could even add the list of existing damages to that electronic contract that night is just double-talk. It never happened. If you rent a car with a similar damage liability contract where you are liable for damages when you return the car, the car rental company discloses up-front all the rental car damages right in the contract before they hand it to you to sign. Schomp does not disclose damages up-front when they have you sign. Good luck when you bring the car back, and it comes down to a he-said she-said as to what is or isn't existing damages. You've already signed away your rights. Schomp's response also makes it very clear to me that the General Sales Manager's offensive attempt to play the safety card and claim that the contract was just for the safety of the salesmen, is shown to be false by Schomp's own response. Otherwise Schomp wouldn't now be talking about how they would "write down the existing damage on the agreement". How would a contract that Travis Taggart claimed was just for the safety of their employees, need car damages noted on the contract? Trying to play the safety card to jam you into signing a contract should be offensive to anyone who bothers to read this far. I gave Schomp's salesperson the opportunity to close the sale that night, and Travis's response was instead to offensively play the safety card. Like I stated before, Schomp Mini is the only dealership I know who is willing to blow-up an all-cash deal with a current Mini owner, over a contract they admit is "not something we are willing to change". Sadly, this is just the end of a long line of issues from Schomp. No more chances. read more

Do not work with Schomp Mini. Owning a mini Cooper was always a dream of mine. It has truly become a nightmare. Don't buy, don't lease, don't do an ounce of business with this location. Over the past year I have Work off to come back-and-forth to this location to have problems not addressed, not get fixed, in an unending cycle of incompetence and rigidity they put their customers dead last. Every single time there was anything wrong they blamed BMW headquarters and not themselves. I'm actually ending the lease early and paying a fee simply to not have to do business with them. Service. Listen, I bought my Mini here and have had all the service done. Yesterday was the first false note and I am concerned there may be a big slip. I was there for routine service and asked about the price. They also recommended some additional things that I decided to go forward with. I asked for the cost and they hand waved the total. Having never had a bad experience I said go ahead. Just a little over an hour later, the car was ready. I saw the bill and was shocked. I asked what their labor rate was. The response was $165/hour. Well, I was charged almost $300 and the car was in the shop 1 hour - the hands on had to be considerably less than that. I asked and was given an "explanation" about "standard" rate tables - never to my satisfaction. So, count on $300/hour or take your business to a more reputable place. read more

After having some horrendous experiences purchasing cars in the past, it was refreshing to find a dealer who does not BS when it comes to sales. I walked in the dealership to purchase a used car, took a test drive, signed some paperwork and walked out with my car the next day. During my purchase experience I worked solely with one saleswoman, Lannah, who was very kind and responsive to my texts. The sticker price was EXACTLY what I paid (plus tax of course), there was no attempt to negotiate and there were absolutely 0 dealer/handling fees. Even when it came to being offered a warranty, I said no and that was the last I heard of it. The mini's are junk and terrible in the winter. I was told I needed a trickle charger because I didn't drive it enough to keep the battery charger! I added a trickle charger and the battery still went dead! My motorcycle has a bigger batter then this car. I had to bring it in 2 X's for them to fix an oil leak and 2X's to repair a broken oil line support. Parts and car are WAY overpriced. I could go on but I would not buy this car for Colorado driving ! ! ! read more

BEWARE!!! Very unethical service department ! They have tried to scam me before, this week they went too far. Took my car in for a final check to see if any remaining work , that was covered under my extended service contract could be done.( I had just serviced it a couple months earlier) I got a loaner , as I always do, and I signed a blank IPAD they handed me. It was blank with a line on which I was told to sign. They called me and said I had @ $2000 in needed repairs!!! I was stunned.. refused the work and showed their video to an independent mechanic. He told me to get my car and leave the dealership immediately. He said that they were scamming me and that the only repair I needed would be @ $300. When I returned to get my car I was forced to pay $157 . I NEVER authorized any work which was not covered under my prepaid service plan!! I felt bullied and threatened! In my opinion buying/servicing a car is not fun. This is my second Mini from Schomp. Some of the changes in the new Mini Cooper design are wonderful. Other changes were disappointing to me. When I was unsure about the new Mini they answered all of my questions. They made sure I was happy with my purchase. They followed up with me to see if I needed a refresher on any of the new options and to see how i was bonding with my new Mini. I recently had a pretty poor experience with Schomp regarding my blue 2015 Mini Cooper S Hardtop. It was very disappointing, because it really did not have to be had there been acceptable communication between the service department and myself. I originally took my car in on Saturday, October 1st in order to have my bonnet stripes replaced, as they had water spots on them and the vehicle is still under warranty. Seems like this is a common issue with these stripes, so perhaps there should be something done on future models or advice given on how to avoid this. Ultimately, when I took the car in, I was told this could be replaced the next day. I travel every week for work, so I would have to come back the following Saturday to pick up my car, which is fine. My travel schedule is not fault of the dealer. I received a call letting me know the stripes had been replaced and some maintenance work would have to be done regarding my crank shaft bearings. I was then called a day or two later letting me know the this was completed and I could pick up my car when I was in town. I came in on Saturday, 10/08 to pick up my car, and they could not locate my keys. I was annoyed at this point, but not mad yet, as I understand human error occurs. I was told I would be called Monday after they contacted the adviser in charge of my car, to let me know if they had found the keys or needed to order new ones. I received no call from the dealer and began calling them on Wednesday 10/12 asking about the status of the car. Twice I was told I would receive a call back, and did not. On the third call, I was told my car was ready to be picked up. I asked them to check about my keys, and after waiting on hold for approximately 10 minutes, I was told my keys still were not found. Finally I received a call back after my 3 calls, and was told by the adviser that he was able to locate my keys. I expressed my frustration with the situation, as this would have been a much easier pill to swallow had I been kept in the loop, rather than having to repeatedly call the dealer to attempt them to force them to solve a problem they created. Finally, when I picked up my car on Saturday, 10/15, I went to Target to pick up some essentials. When I came back to my car, I noticed my sunroof was now not working. I went straight back to the dealer 30 minutes after picking it up from this whole debacle. I then waited for about 45-60 minutes for them to reinitialize the computer on the car, and was finally on my way with keys and a functioning vehicle. This was a very poor experience, mostly due to a lack of communication. I do not want to mention the adviser's name on a public website because I feel that would be in poor taste. I am writing this yelp review because it was my understanding I would have the opportunity to take a survey, but never received one. Schomp mini is such a friendly environment. They always treat you like a priority. They have snacks and drinks available which is very convenient since I have a toddler. They also even had a small ride on Mini Cooper toy that has occupied my son on a few occasions. We wanted to buy a used car from a highly reputable dealership to have some sense of having the vehicle competently inspected/serviced prior to sale. The sales staff is awesome, just to ensure they get credit due. Found the car we wanted but before we purchased several minor issues were identified. We were then told (looking at you, Sales Manager) that the vehicle was an "as is" sale, but only AFTER we paid a NON-REFUNDABLE deposit on the vehicle. So now I'll be having to replace brake pads, a clearly broken fog light, and figure out where all the loose parts that were laying in the back of the vehicle go. This is precisely why we went to such a highly-rated dealership, to avoid the nickle-and-dime stuff that happens at a Fred's Auto Barn (apologies if there actually is a Fred's Auto Barn.) I would have thought that the value of their reputation would have exceeded the minor repairs to make the vehicle right. If you're in the market for a new car they certainly have some nice ones, and they have a coffee maker that probably costs more than my first two cars put together. But if you're in the market for a used car you might as well do business with Fred's to avoid thinking that Schomp Mini is going to make any extra effort on your behalf. I'm sure we'll enjoy the vehicle after I do all the repairs myself (with total knee replacement in between that happening.) Not a bad dealer, just turned out to be the same nickle-and-dime routine as Fred's. Very disappointed. We won't be doing any further business with Schomp Mini. read more

Apparently this is the second busiest MINI as far as volume in the US! The facility is extremely impressive with a mix of those modern and outdoor features that Coloradans crave. I want to give a shout out to Joanna Frick who works as a MINI genius. She is very knowledgeable about all the cars and can certainly assist you in your buying process. None of the sales staff will pressure you either which I really do like. They also have these fun events with catered food and live music that you should check out if you are in the area. The car was in perfect condition and under miles! This is an unethical revenue strategy. The employee said sorry I don't have anything to do with this and cant help you. It's just a checklist! I rarely make reviews but after purchasing a lemon from this dealership I had to warn others. I recently purchased a 2011 2 door hardtop Mini from this dealership and it was the worst purchase I have ever made, and I have purchased many used vehicles in the past. Please take these words of warning to heart and reconsider buying from this dealership! After purchasing a 2011 used Mini from Schomp Mini in December I immediately started having problems. I test drove this vehicle twice with no apparent issues and decided to pull the trigger on it. On the drive home the sway bar ends busted and the dealership had to come pick up the car and fix it, which they did at no cost as I was still within the 2 day cool-down period and could have returned the car. I live in Los Angeles and decided to drive the car back to LA, cancelling my return flight. The drive home to LA was uneventful although as SOON as I made it to LA the car immediately started experiencing mechanical problems... First the warning bulb indicator came on which ended up being the driver's side tail light housing that MELTED which meant I had to replace the whole housing at about $200. Then the real problems started..the car lost power out of nowhere, I received a loss of power indicator light and the car barely made it home....This was ONE WEEK after buying the car. I have spent the last couple of months going from Mini dealership to mechanic shop trying to diagnose the problem, which started as "its probably bad spark plugs and ignition coils...will fix for $2000", which I fixed, to now "oh that didn't fix the problem, now we know the real problem, it's either the high pressure fuel pump, low pressure fuel pump, transfer fuel pump...or  JBE box...we have to replace EVERYTHING to fix the real issue ...at another $3000!" SCHOMP Mini refused to take any sort of responsibility whatsoever (and to think I initially gave them the benefit of the doubt), all I got from them was "well it was fine when we sold it" and "should have bought the extended warranty, not our problem now...you are past the 1000 mile limited warranty we offer". The vehicle was a complete lemon and lemon laws only cover new cars, Schomp Mini knows this and they clearly don't inspect their used cars prior to resale. Word of advice, DO NOT buy from this dealership...and if you do, either make sure it's a new car under warranty, or a used car under the extended warranty plan (either theirs or buy your own immediately). Schomp will absolutely NOT stand by their vehicles and they do not inspect their used cars. Do yourself a favor...go elsewhere. read more

I thought I wrote the original review below a while ago but for some reason it isn't showing up. However, I've also been back a few times since I originally purchased my Mini for regular maintenance and I'm still continuously impressed with the friendliness and fast service I receive at Ralph Schomp. I love my Mini and the people at Ralph Schomp just make owning it that much easier. The original Mini buying process... When Sir Nicholas and I first moved to San Francisco we decided to sell our cars because driving there is horrendous and parking is crazy expensive. So, when I found out I would be returning to Denver one of the first orders of business was to buy myself a new car. Now, for years and years I have wanted a Mini and so immediately I began researching where I could buy one in Denver. Ralph Schomp is the only location that I found and so after going online and figuring out what my ideal car would be I gave them a call. And that call went something like this: Me: "Hi. I live in California right now, but I'm moving back to Denver in a couple of weeks and I'd really like a Mini. I know pretty much what I want, but I also don't have time to wait for a custom built car so I'm hoping that you have something similar to what I want. I definitely want a green one if you have that color, I'd like the S copper, and I really want a manual transmission." Sales guy: "Well we happen to have a Mini that meets all those requirements. However, it also has the cold weather package." Me: "Perfect! I wanted that." Sales guy: "And it has a white top instead of the same color" Me: "Perfect! I wanted that." Sales guy: "Well it also has a dual sunroof." Me: "Yes, yes, and yes!" This went on and on until basically the sales guy told me that the very same Mini I would have custom built if I had time was sitting at Ralph Schomp just waiting for me. At this point I got kind of squeal-y and asked what I had to do to have them hold the car for me. It turns out not a lot. They approved me for the financing (with an extraordinary low APR I should add) and then asked what date and time I'd like to come get the car. Then after all of that was set up my sales guy sent me an email confirmation that even included a photo of my little car just waiting for me. I spent many hours showing that to people and/or just looking at it myself... The day after Nick and I drove into town I had my appointment with Tyler (my sales guy) and as I walked in he greeted me with the phrase, "Are you ready to see your new Mini?" He then led me to a covered car right in the middle of the showroom and we both grabbed one corner of the car cover and pulled it back revealing my beautiful little motoring vehicle. It was very exciting, kind of like being on a game show I imagine. After I finished signing all the paperwork, we sat inside the car while Tyler showed me all the controls, helped me set up all my preferred settings for things like the blinkers, the radio, my blue tooth thing for the phone and on and on. And then they opened the garage door in the side of the building and I drove away smiling like a fool and loving the way my car handles. The thing I love about Mini dealerships is there isn't really any haggling because prices are what they are. And the people that I worked with at Ralph Schomp were so accommodating and friendly that I really enjoyed my purchasing experience here from start to finish whether I was interacting with them on the phone, via email, or in person. DO NOT EVER DO BUSINESS WITH THIS DEALERSHIP. CROOKS. I'll just sum it up for you: -After a month of owning the car, received a call that the interest rate was being doubled (despite the fact that the agreement had been signed already with a lower rate), and if we did not agree, then the car would be towed. -Was promised a Visa gift card because of a promotion; once the deal was signed, no one "was the one to deal with that". -Was promised to have the new car delivered, and was strung along for over 5 hours beyond the window of time because "no one was around to bring it"; when we left to go pick it up ourselves, we called to say we were on our way; after 30 minutes of no answer, we were finally told that, oh by the way, it was suddenly on its way, and that we needed to just turn around. -Received inappropriately informal text messages and emails from Jake, the guy who originally made the "deal". These are just the main points in a concise fashion. I.e. could expound, but you get the gist. I look at situations like this and wonder what the owner would think if he knew his business was being represented and conducted in such a disturbing fashion. Stay away. Admittedly an emergency visit on my part as there were warning lights going off, things started well as service was able to rustle up a loaner on short notice. Check in with my advisor was another story. I had called and spoken to a young woman on my way in who apparently had not filled my advisor in on my situation. So a confusing check in (honestly always an issue as there is another mini owner who shares my name) followed by no communication until more than 24 hours later. Regardless the car wasn't ready when expected nor was it clean when picked up though I had been told when I called that it was washed and vacuumed. Schomp MINI - Lots of minis - Car Dealers Near Me - Highlands Ranch, Colorado

This place was so disorganized I find it astonishing that they are still in business. I had to come back into the dealership to sign the contract three different times because they kept making mistakes in filling out the paperwork. The saga then continued when I went to register my vehicle at the DMV the day before my temp tags expired to find out that the DMV had returned the paperwork to them twice for incorrectly filling it out. It then had to be sent back a third time and I had to wait another two weeks before I could register the vehicle. This is in addition to being misquoted on the price, provided false information about the features / functionality of the vehicle and a general lack of responsiveness (calling / emailing 6+ times before getting a response). My assessment - the people I dealt with were nice enough, but entirely incompetent. read more

Looked at a car here and made the mistake of giving them my phone number. Ended up getting a volvo, as it's way more tricked out and much cheaper, but CARSON, I think his name is, called me EVERYDAY for a week. Finally I called and told him, I BOUGHT A VOLVO. Guess what, he calls me today to ask where we are with the MINI. REALLY? Really??? You guys need to hire adults that listen, and aren't doing bong hits in the back room. JOKE. read more

It took 3 days to get a quote that I finally got after calling the service department numerous times. I bought the car here 18 years ago and have used this shop for maintenance since. They would not price match for 300$ on a $2700 suspension job because my other bid was from a non- competitor! What about customer loyalty? Les Schwab did a great job. I love my MINI but it needs its check-ups. Since I moved to Denver, I have been taking it to Ralph Schomp MINI. The service has always been great but my experience today was exceptional. You see, last week my battery died and of course the AAA repair man offered to replace it. He assured me he knew what he was doing but alas, MINI Coopers require expertise that he did not have. After the battery went in, the dash wouldn't light up so I took the car in today. Brady, the service manager, was awesome and had the problem diagnosed and remedied within the hour. Of course, because of their courtesy car service, I didn't have to wait and instead spent the morning testing the new hardtop. I could not have been happier. In summary, the service, courtesy and expertise at Schomp MINI is fantastic and I wouldn't trust my MINI anywhere else. read more

This was one of the worst experiences I've ever had at a dealership, period. The sales manager and the owner should be ashamed of their sales staff. My friends and I looked at the inventory for over 30 minutes while sales staff walked by without greeting us, asking us any questions, etc. I figured, maybe they take more of a "hands-off" approach to dealing with customers. I went into the dealership and looked at the few MINIs inside. We looked and waited for over 10 minutes before I went up to someone asking for help with finding a vehicle. The gentleman said he would get someone for us and asked us to sit and wait. We waited over 15 minutes and the guy that he got was someone who I had seen in the area just sitting around, drinking coffee, and playing on his cell phone. When I introduced myself to the sales associate, it was obvious he had no intention of being helpful, or that he really cared about selling a vehicle to me. He was nonchalant and distant. Not friendly in the slightest. I told him was I was looking for in a vehicle. He said he needed to go and look at the vehicles outside to see if there was anything in the inventory that matched that. He said this while sitting in front of a computer that HAD THE ENTIRE INVENTORY ON IT!!! We waited another 15 minutes and we he returned said that he didn't have anything that matched what I wanted. He made no further attempt to help me find anything and gave no indication that he would. I just looked at him for a minute waiting for him to say anything more, and we he didn't, I bid him a good morning, and we left. I don't know if I was dressed too casually (we were all wearing jeans and t-shirts) or didn't LOOK like I could afford a car there, but it was obvious that no one at that dealership cared. At all. Period. I ended up driving to MINI of Loveland near Ft. Collins and had an outstanding experience there (see my review there) I wouldn't recommend this dealership to anyone and, after speaking to some of my friends who own MINIs and discussing my experience, they will no longer be patrons of this dealership in the future. read more

Meh Ive experienced better indeed. I LOVE my mini dont get me wrong. I had the most absolute amazing time buying my first mini in san francisco - it was glorious and didnt feel at ALL like your classic buying a car - so this experience was extremely frustrating. Certain costs were NOT communicated to me, i felt passed around and swindled and once I LEFT the dealership I was called a week later to resign paperwork that the financial team screwed up - if I didnt head in within a couple days then I would have a double payment yada yada. This experience just gave me an icky feeling. Again - MINI cars rule - Some of the people I dealt with here meant well, but it just didnt impress me at all. read more

Service for my Mini Cooper Clubman was OK. I'm use to a more upscale experience in Dallas and will be interested to see how this dealer improves when they relocate soon to join a BMW dealership. I thought the process was a bit confusing as to what was actually done to my car and why, and didn't feel they resolved issue with a foul smell coming from AC, nor did they care. I feel very vulnerable owning a Mini in The Springs and having only one dealership an hour away. May rethink my choice of vendors and models on next buy. Would hate to say goodbye to my Mini, but the horrible road maintenance in the Springs makes you think 4-wheel drive SUV..... read more

So I purchased a mint condition 2004 Mini because they just exude FUN. Much of the Mini mystique stems from them marketing the cars as cute, fun to drive, economical and maneuverable cars. When I retired, I thought it would be fun to have one as a weekend driver. Did my research and shopped around for a good used one. The car was originally purchased from Schomp and the original owner provided me with a "suggested repair" sheet from Schomp service department that listed 4 items. One item was "replace door lock actuator" on driver door. Cost ... $600 dollars. My mechanic checked it out and found that a 24.00 cable had come loose in the door. He reattached the cable and the door and lock function perfectly. Total cost: 70.44 About three months into my ownership, I had a broken key that needed replacement. I had never been to the new Schomp Mini dealership and - quite frankly - I probably will never return. The building is big and easy to see from the highway, but once you enter the property, the signage is awful and I found myself driving up and down aisles of cars trying to locate customer parking. I entered the door marked "Parts" department only to find myself in the service bay. I looked around for another sign or door marked "Parts" and saw none. Finally entered the sales department and one of the salesmen led me to the rear of the service bay to a black door which took me to the parts counter. I would have never seen that door without his help. Stepped up to the counter and one of the three young people asked how they could help. I told them I needed a replacement key. The guy closest to the counter looked up my key and said it would be 180.00 for the replacement key and fob. I was quoted 168.00 on my earlier call. I paid the 180.00 and started back to my car. It was then I became aware that the entire building is black and gray. The cars on display look dull and lifeless - partly due to cold lighting. The overall feel was like being in an underground bunker rather than a dealership that sells FUN, COLORFUL, CUTE cars. I'm sure some architect or designer sold them on the "Industrial" look ... but it sure doesn't coincide with all the uplifting marketing that Mini Cooper presents. C'mon Schomp ... lighten up and put some checkers or stripes or something cheery on that building, brighten up the interior and tell your people to greet customers with a smile or - at least - a friendly hello. Do NOT give them your phone number!!!! I went in with my husband to test drive a car and thought I was being smart by opting out of giving them my email address but made the mistake of giving them my phone number. They called me 5 times the week after!!! 5 times in a week after I told them I wasn't interested. They kept calling so I blocked the sales persons number. But now, a month later, after I purchased a car elsewhere, he's calling me from an alternate phone number. What the hell do I have to do to get these people to leave me alone?? This has become harassment and, while I left the dealership liking the mini, I hate the damn company and will never buy from them if this is how they treat people. read more

I found my experience with Schomp to have a mix of pros and cons so that makes for a solid A-OK review. I first started off inquiring about a used vehicle they had on their lot. The online sales rep was awesome answered all my emails promptly didn't pester me with crazy amounts of phone calls and strictly answered my questions without pressuring me into going into the dealership which I liked. My online sales rep was even nice enough to take a video of the vehicle so I had a better feel for what the car was like before I went in. So 5 stars for the online sales dept. When I arrived to the dealer my online sales rep was out for the day so another sales rep took his place. He started off by saying they promise to have me in and out in an hour or less which I thought was total BS from the start. Well 5 hours later I was walking out with my vehicle, nothing against my sales rep he was great but trying to haggle the sales manager on a decent price for my trade in was the biggest battle. These guys wanted to pay me below KBB trade in value for my trade in which every other dealer around was willing to give me a lot more anyways after haggling and deciding to meet in the middle for my trade in, everything went pretty smooth. I did have to take my car back to have a few dents repaired which were included in my sales deal and having to schedule this was kind of a nightmare. After about 30 emails exchanged I was able to book a date and schedule a loaner vehicle. I kept getting the run around that there were no loaner vehicles available and was told when one becomes available they would schedule me in... well 3 weeks later and after pestering them a few times a week to get this done they finally booked me with a loaner vehicle. So as you can see this place does have its pros and cons but overall I can say I was somewhat satisfied with my overall experience with Schomp. read more
