Key parts damage to lug nuts and eventual threaded failure for a cross threaded mounting point for a High Pressure (HP) valve.
    Jay K.

I've been going here for about 2 years for more customer pay than warranty. I brought my 2018 Raptor in for cam phaser replacement (warranty) in August of 2025. I brought the vehicle in again as it didn't drive quite as well. No check engine light. 58K on the odometer, I requested a 60K service (customer pay). There are two 60k services for this vehicle, AutoNation's version and Ford's. I requested Ford's maintenance as it was more comprehensive to me. I requested that all fluids be drained, flushed and renewed. Engine oil & filter, transmission fluid & filter, front and rear differentials, transferbox, cabin and air filters as I was traveling to NJ for the Thanksgiving holiday. The service department knew that. The oil in the transfer box was not changed, nor the air and cabin filters. Would you trust anything that they did? I didn't. After my break down and inspection by a 3rd party, I traded it in, after I paid for the repairs. Returning home to CO, I broke down going over the Mississippi from IL to MO on Sunday the 1st. Found a hotel and a Ford dealer in the St. Louis, MO area. Failure of a cross threaded bolt, filled with Locktite could not withstand the pressures put on it. This bolt is 1 of 3 that hold the High Pressure (HP) fuel pump, driven by the camshaft. By compromising the mounting bolts, this was a doomed failure waiting to happen. At this point I have two different technicians doing the same thing. Crossthreading. One with a lug nut, the other a critical mounting component of the engine. Had a qualified technician done the 60k inspection including a read out of codes, which could have led to further diagnosis PREVENTING failure that left me and my family stranded in a snowstorm. There is no such talent at this facility. I have zero confidence that they can fix your Ford here. Or as in my case, returning a lesser product to me. After giving AutoNation Littleton Ford a perfectly well maintained 2018 F150 Raptor, it came back to me damaged, broken, stranded, and leaving me with zero confidence. Do yourself a favor and avoid this service department. Mark, With no respect, YOU DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOUR CUSTOMERS. This is intolerable. Before you post, make sure that your facts are correct. I can see where this culture is created.

I came in today with my eye on a specific explorer my sales person was Justin N and he was fantastic I was an anxious driver and he directed me every step of the way he was so knowledgeable about the vehicles specs and was very transparent. Scott G was my finance guy and he made everything as painless and quick as possible, which I really appreciated. I will ride a scooter before I buy another vehicle from anyone but Scott and Justin!

DO NOT TRUST THIS DEALERSHIP! There technicians lie on there inspection forms. There salesmen flat lie to you if you ask them to verify something that the inspection says works (because your sending your wife to pay and pick It up). And even if you pay all cash at there asking price they won't stand behind the inspection forms you are shown and upper management ENCOURAGES the sales people to lie to get your money. I was literally told by management 'well you bought it as is'. Yes. Based on multiple people lying to me. And even when shown proof the mechanics and the sales people lied, all done before payment, upper management refuses to fix what I was guaranteed works multiple times (in writing, i.e. mechanics inspection form and salesmen saying they do when directly asked to verify through text) and refuses to speak directly with me or answer my weeks of calls and messages. There literally is not one person at this dealership that isn't encouraged to falsify inspection forms or flat out LIE to customers to make a sale. If you can't trust the mechanics, and you can't trust management, RUN to literally any other dealer that isn't in the Auto Nation network. If one persons lies and they owned up to it and made it right, trust the business and accept mistakes happen. When every single employee lies from upper management to the sales men and the technicians, stay as far away as possible as it is clearly not an honest business and only wants to take your money and not actually provide you with what you pay for. They literally sent the car to detail and then delivered it to my wife with glove box taken apart and the cabin filter sitting on the floor, couldn't even be bothered to have it put back together before delivery to customer. Absolutely ZERO pride from this place. Worth noting, this is a $215 problem. I flat told them I would leave a 5 star review and not a 1 star review if they just took care of the lights they said worked. It's been over a month, Management repeatedly chose to ignore me and my valid issues. For all the upper management reading, you could have had a 5 star review for $215 but due to the incompetence of the multiple employees and management at your dealer you choose a 1 star review and me putting my story out there.

That statement was false and misleading. When I went to sell the car, I discovered that the DMV had recorded an accident on the vehicle a full year before I bought it. This misrepresentation cost me a $3,000 in lost value, verified by an auto broker who showed me recent comparable sales of nearly identical vehicles. When I raised this issue with CarMax, they refused to accept any responsibility or compensate me for any of the loss in value. CarMax heavily markets "peace of mind" and "transparency," but my experience shows those claims are hollow. If their employees can misrepresent a car's history and the company refuses to make it right, then buyers cannot trust the accuracy of anything they're told. Furthermore, do not rely on the CarMax vehicle inspection to uncover previous damage that would have been discoverable by a competent mechanic. Be certain to complete an independent pre-purchase inspection using a competent mechanic. CarMax misrepresented the vehicle I purchased, and their refusal to stand behind their word shows a lack of integrity. Buyers beware--you could be left with a car worth thousands less than you were led to believe.

They charge over $200.00 for diagnostics if your warranty doesn't cover their findings. However, this specific part was covered.. After getting it inspected from a different mechanic who took literal video of the problem, I took it back into this dealership and showed them the video and asked them to address that problem. (along with an oil change) The guy who checked me in, informed me that it would close to a week before anyone could look at it due to recalls. I said that was fine and by the end of the day, they messaged me that it was already done... Suspicious considering he said he had over 60 cars to handle prior to mine. That tells me they did the diagnostics as quickly as possible to get it out of the queue. Upon reading the report, they found all these other things that supposedly needed to be done but somehow hadn't found any of these issues when Id taken it in a month prior AND a few months before that?! Strange... They also basically said that this grinding was due to feathered/cupped tires. When I addressed their findings regarding the video I showed the intake employee (the ACTUAL thing I wanted diagnosed), they said there was no issue with it. Which was absolute bullshit. They didn't want to address it because it was covered under warranty and they didn't want to put in the work for free. So they just made a list of these non-urgent things that needed to be done in the hopes it would satisfy the $300.00 I had to shell out for an oil change basically. I took it to another independent mechanic and he took his own findings, submitted it to warranty and it got approved.. WILD how an independent mechanic can handle such a simple thing but an actual dealership strung me all over the place for months out of pure laziness. If you have a Jeep, don't go here. If you have a warranty and know there's a covered part that needs to be addressed, don't go here. Unprofessional, condescending and unreliable.

And you would think for a dealership with a service dept on site they would diagnose and correct all of the problems before they sell the vehicles, but they don't. They either patch them up and hope you don't notice for two months or I have the worst luck in the world. The vehicle I bought myself ended up being in the shop for at least a month after I discovered it's issue. Thank God I found it a week before my warranty was up or I would have been on the hook for the $5,000 it cost to fix the problem. But it didn't come without a fight. It took the dealership two attempts to fix the vehicle. The first time they fixed the wrong thing, and when I told them I was still having the same issue they told me they weren't going to fix it. We eventually got on the same page and they took my vehicle for another two weeks and finally repaired it. For that I'm grateful. But now the vehicle I bought my grandmother had the check engine light come on. Mechanic comes out to give it a tune up and finds the spark plugs are covered in oil. Boom! It needs a new valve seals. My mechanic says "it looks like it's been this way for quite some time". I bought the car less than a year ago. Unfortunately the warranty has expired on this vehicle. So I'm on the hook for this one. I'm not saying don't buy a vehicle from this dealership. But I am telling you to take your car to a mechanic as soon as you drive it off of the lot to find any issues before your warranty expires. Because from my experience it doesn't seem to me like their service department has their customers best interests at heart.
