This is my preferred hotel when we come to visit the Caryville/LaFollette area. Our family is…read moreoriginally from Caryville, and I've stayed at this hotel many, many times, over the past several years when we have come down to visit family. The entrance and the hallways are filled with local historical photos, news clippings & ephemera, antiques, old farming equipment, classic cars, and tons of other things to look at. The llamas outside are a certainly a unique feature, and are quite endearing to watch. The rooms are very comfortable, many with lovely balconies and views of the lake. Those that look out to the back of the property offer an occasional glimpse of the llamas grazing on the land surrounding the hotel. Linens and towels are always top notch and freshly laundered. Occasionally I have had small issues with noise from neighbouring rooms, but usually when families with children are staying in them. Normally I sleep well and am not disturbed by other customers. The breakfast has been really well done the times when I have been there. A great selection of standard hot and cold items. Copious amounts of tea and coffee. I can't recommend it highly enough if you're coming to the area and want a great hotel without the crazy price tag that some local resorts might charge.

Never been here before. The first thing I noticed about this hotel were the cute statues on the driveway. The front desk attendant was friendly and kind. We are diamond members, so she have is waters and a choice of snacks. They also had fresh made cookies in the lobby and hit coffee and tea! Each room has a cute little balcony outside with chairs. I walked onto the balcony, and I was greeted with a most beautiful view of a fog covered mountain with a lake in front! ! I had to take away one star because they don't put hair conditioner in the rooms! By the time yiuvreslize there isn't any, you're already in the shower. This decision obviously wasn't made by a woman with long hair. So sadly, I couldn't wash my hair for fear of not being able to comb through it after.

The building is clean, the room was comfortable. The breakfast was quite good too. Our only…read more issue was that the shower curtain and liner were too short for the bathtub. When either of us took a shower, (try as we might to prevent it) water pooled on the floor and out into the small foyer of the room. We took a total of two showers because we stayed only one night. Checkout did not afford a chance to notify the hotel of the problem. The person at the desk was working hard and we did not interrupt her.

I am currently staying at the HI, and it's one thing after the other with this damn place!! 1st, they booked us for Thursday-Sunday, when I specifically asked for a Monday checkout. Get here and they charge me an extra $163!!! Then. Every single time I leave the room, when we get back in the evening, my damn keys don't work!! And they blame it on ME!! That's I'm placing the close to my cell phone or mobile device of some kind!! I literally held them in my hand, and placed them in the glovebox of the car!!! They came to clean the room, but left us no toilet paper. Now if I want TP, I have to walk down to reception and get some!!! Lady, I gotta poop! I ain't got time to walk down there and get it!! Overall this experience has been absolutely horrible!! They really dropped the ball on this one! They ruined my experience with Tennesee. We are just here for my sons wedding, and they've made it miserable!!! 0 stars if I could.....

So the reservation started off kind of shaky. I called and a gal picked up. I was able to tell her…read moreall the information to make it; however, when I asked for a confirmation, she was quick to respond that she was doing many things at once and that it would take time to send a confirmation email. Customer service wise, if you pick up the phone, you need to either put the guest on hold, while you finish what you are doing with another guest. Do not try to take a reservation and then state that "I cannot do this right now because I am doing too many things at once." It came off so rude. Anyway, I was able to get the confirmation, the email I requested never had shown up, and so i had to jot down the number from an individual who was already irritated. OMG, it is not my problem you were irritated because you were not trained well to prioritize workload! Coming from an hour and a half away, it is kind of important to feel secure that the hotel I am making a reservation at will book me and have a room available. I was a bit thrown... I travel here and I notice that the first Hampton Inn sign (turned perpendicular) to the entrance that serves two hotels (Holiday Inn, Aldi, and Hampton Inn) is a bit misplaced. I ended up in the Aldi's parking lot because it was in front of it. I end up coming inside and a guy takes my information and gets me the room keys. Everything smooth there. I then ask because I see on Google Reviews and on here, it is not stated very well; however, breakfast at this Hampton Inn is completely free. I know with some Hilton brand and Marriott brand hotels, one has to be on a member tier to be able to get it free. If not, they will have to pay full price. Luckily, this is not the case here. Just wanted to make that clear. The cable options in the room are amazing. Good t.v. guide with title of the show and alphabetically ranged (*note for myself, they have The Travel Channel). 126 channels in all! 04/16/2026 The breakfast was not bad. They had a variety of make your own (waffles and cinnamon buns) and then these black seed lemon tarts in the plastic display. The hot foods were breakfast cups (bread with egg used as spread), bacon strips (which were actually crispy and cooked well), and lemon potato wedges (I was not too fond of them). If one were to keep going, they would have all the cereals. Another big thing is the cut fruit. I was taking bowls of that. Probably the only time I actually care enough to get my fruit portion in. Comparing to a Quality Inn's breakfast, they definitely have Hampton Inn beat on the potato wedges. I wish Quality Inns would cook the bacon like this Hampton Inn had done, though. I feel like hotel breakfasts have pretty much the same ingredients, just done up more in Hiltons (Hampton Inn). Egg beater yellow (folded) eggs that may come scrambled at Quality Inn, will be liquified on the bread to make the cups. The potato wedges will be more cooked (not fried) and have lemon juice squeezed on them. The cut fruit may actually be cut by someone or bought from a store, pre cut, instead of a served in a Dole fruit cup (which is more preserved) and placed in a fridge. They do not give tea options in the rooms; however, I found that they had unique Cranberry tea (have not seen that in other hotels in Kentucky) along with Lemon Ginger. They also have herbal, black, green (I think) and earl grey.
