The school day feels longer than the actual day. If you lose your nametag you stay in student support for the whole day. I barley get any hours of sleep because of the 6 homework's they assign a day. Every day you go to 8 periods. If you miss one assignment your grade drops down to an F. There's no point in bringing your phone to the school because they make you keep it in a yonder pouch till you leave the school. They barley clean their bathrooms. The school is really small and the kids in the hallways walk so slow that you always get tardy. The school is going bankrupt, and they barley let you use the bathroom. In one class all you do is go on IXL for the whole class and get sent in the hall if you go off task for 10 seconds. PE and science make you read and write more than English class. This school acts like its 5 star material but its really just garbage. Its also impossible to pick up your kids without getting kicked out the line if you stay their for more than 2 minutes. The bus is filled so much that some 2 seaters need 3 people in them. The only reason anybody is going to this school is because their parents forced them or they just want college credits. I would rather go to any other school than Amplus Academy. It was probably the worst experience in my life. I had the highest cortisol from the 1 year that i was in this school. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER WOULDNT RECOMMEND.

However, there is a heavy influence on substances such as weed and nicotine throughout the school and it is very common to go into the bathrooms and find that. There are some teachers here who shine and actually care about that job such as Ms Fick, and Ms Beckham to name a few.

Because of this teacher, my son is now being told he cannot participate in graduation over a 0.5 credit issue that honestly feels personal at this point. What makes it even more concerning is that I have two children at this school, and both have experienced the same problems with this teacher. Is that just a coincidence? Las Vegas already struggles with the level of education being provided, and having teachers who take away a student's opportunity to walk at graduation something every teenager dreams about is truly disappointing and shameful. Parents should be very careful and stay involved, because from my experience, this school does not genuinely care about the students' future or success.

White lady yells at ME (a person of COLOR) for making an honest mistake while the white boy who does the same mistake I did doesn't even get an attitude. And then proceeds to go yell at another person of color for doing the same mistake. And why is it that a bunch of kids that were late because of their bus getting them to school late still have to face the consequences even tho it was not their fault that their bus driver decided "oh hey let me take my sweet time taking these high schoolers to their insanely strict and unfair highschool!" I'd love to say that this school is everything that I hoped for it to be But alot of the students here also notice that the staff here just treat the students like they don't even matter...? I mean even the reviews here are complaining that this school isn't even all that!! And the thing is the staff are constantly saying "stick to the rules!" And "we care alot about bullying" but when it's a staff suddenly those rules don't apply to them? Why is it that us younger folks have to deal with adults nonsense just because they're older than us? No student can do anything about it either because they do not make it a safe environment where they can express their feelings/opinions! This is extremely irritating and this should be talked about! I have never in my life been treated this badly in a school before! And Ccsd schools usually treat their students like the dirt on their shoes! Shows how bad Ccsd schools really are!

The staff likes to flip the situation on them whole time it's that person getting bullied?? they don't even try to stop it and I can't even wear shorts which is crazy work because it's Vegas and it's 100° outside every day! weird right? so that's why I'm saying with full confidence. If you send your kid there you're a disgrace.

I also want to recognize Ms. Lehman for the amazing job she does as principal. Her leadership, dedication, and heart for the students and staff are easy to see. I believe God has great things planned for this school and its future. Of course, no school is perfect, and every school has areas where it can continue to grow. What stands out to me at Awaken is the heart of the staff. I believe the teachers and staff genuinely care about their students and desire to keep God at the center of what they do. That means so much to our family. I am grateful that my sons are not only receiving an education but are also being encouraged in their faith, character, and relationships with others. As a parent, knowing that my children are surrounded by people who care about them and want to see them succeed gives me peace. I truly believe Awaken Christian Academy has a bright future, and I am excited to see all that God will continue to do through this school. We are blessed to be part of the Awaken family!

This school is not what it used to be. Over the last several years, programs and athletics have…read moresteadily declined while leadership priorities seem increasingly disconnected from what families are paying for. One major concern is that the school often relies on parent volunteers instead of hiring experienced, qualified coaches and staff, while at the same time cutting programs and resources for students. It's frustrating watching tuition costs remain high while equipment, opportunities, and overall program quality continue to suffer. The increasing church influence has also significantly changed the atmosphere of the school. Many families, myself included, have questioned the decision to place so much authority and financial responsibility in the hands of individuals like Fred, whose background and past business dealings have raised concerns within the community. What was especially upsetting was the abrupt closure of the high school, which left many parents scrambling to figure out where to place their children with very little notice or support. Shortly afterward, the church immediately took over the former high school classrooms, which only reinforced what many families had already been fearing -- that the long-term priority was shifting away from education and toward church expansion onto the school property. At the same time, several critical administrative positions have either been eliminated or consolidated, placing even more pressure and responsibility on the few staff members still trying to hold everything together. Morale appears low, turnover has increased, and the overall structure feels increasingly unstable. Many parents stayed because they believed the promises being made, but over time the disconnect between those promises and reality became difficult to ignore. Sadly, the focus no longer seems to be centered on the students, and the school now feels like a system barely holding itself together.

My daughter started at Brilliant Mont in preschool and grew beautifully through the years, wrapped in care, encouragement, and excellence. She showed up during a season when life wasn't easy. Her love and patience got us through a difficult time--we're forever grateful. She didn't just teach my daughter; she covered her in peace and gave her joy when things were uncertain. That's a gift you can't put a price on. From the ladies at the front desk to Mr. Alex at security--everyone at Brilliant Mont treats you like family. And I don't say that lightly. The love is real, the community is strong, and the environment is anointed. You feel safe, seen, and supported from day one. We're heartbroken to go, but so thankful to have been part of this amazing community. If you're considering a place where your child can grow not just academically but emotionally and spiritually too--this is the one. Brilliant Mont isn't just a school--it's a village.
