Dealing with Schroeder Plumbing was a very difficult experience. The rough-in plumbing went ok, but they harp on you to make sure all the finish plumbing fixtures are on site when they come back for final installation or else they will charge you $450 for a repeat visit. When I say harp on you, I mean they harp on you. At their first visit for installing final fixtures, we ran into a problem related to the fact that the rough-in valve for the shower was installed too shallow. The tiles had already been installed so busting them out & re-setting the rough-in valve was not an option. We had about a 3/8th inch space that we had to fill and unfortunately Grohe had no product/escutcheon to fill that void. We spent sleepless nights and countless hours researching a solution to this problem. Our solution was to pay a plastics company to make a custom ring out of acrylic to fill that void and luckily it worked. Now you would think that a reputable plumber that cares about customer service would have contributed some ideas about how we would resolve this issue, but Brian Schroeder and his lead plumber offered no ideas whatsoever to resolve this issue. They basically inferred we were on our own to figure out a solution. All they seemed to care about was harping on us about an extra charge to come back again. The plot really thickens here since I (a woman and co-owner of the property) hovered over this lead plumber when he came back to finish the job. This annoyed him, but I didn't care. I wanted to make sure that everything he needed was on-site and I even offered to buy him lunch or run and get any parts he needed. Unfortunately, he had a chip on his shoulder and proceeded to tell me how disgusted he was with "carpet-baggers" coming out to the desert and ruining the quality of life. Funny but, us carpet baggers are providing a tremendous source of work/income for his company. As he was installing a faucet, he announced to me that he couldn't finish because a set screw was missing. I then ransacked the Grohe box and sure enough I found the set screw. This happened again when he told me an escutcheon for a shower valve was missing. Again, I ransacked the Grohe box and found it. I had to ask myself "Is he looking for an excuse to extricate himself from this job"? His final announcement was that he could not test the water temperature because the water heater was not working properly. I then performed research to find out how to re-set the temperature on the water heater since he was unfamiliar with the Rheem electric water heater that we had. He left without finishing the final task which was to install hose bibs for the washing machine. This ended up being a lucky break for us since a different plumber came back at a later date to perform that task. He was amazing, very cordial and helpful and in two minutes time he had our water heater reset. In summary, this wasn't our first rodeo in restoring/refinishing a home. It was truly a nightmare working with Schroeder Plumbing and I would not recommend them. read more

Yesterday we had a rather urgent plumbing situation arise when the main line in our septic system got blocked causing everything to back up in our house. I called Schroeder Plumbing and the woman (sorry- I don't remember her name!) who answered the phone was very nice and patient as I tried to describe what was happening in my home. She was very knowledgable and walked me through what the problem probably was (we bought this house less than a year ago and this is our first time living on septic). She assigned us two technicians, Anthony and Tony, and they arrived at our house about 30 minutes later. They were both really nice and professional and handled the situation quickly and effectively. Thanks to their excellent service, less than an hour after the problem was found it was fixed. Their prices are also very competitive and fair and I will definitely be using Schroeder Plumbing for any future needs we may have. read more

How anyone scheduled to be at my home at 11 AM who didn't contact me and was uncontactable until 3 PM can be described as "PROMPT" is sort of beyond me. Brian showed up considerably late on two other occasions. So...promptness is NOT a forte! SO, having said that, when/if he does show up, he's efficient, professional, reasonably priced, hard-working, knowledgeable and does excellent work. He knows his plumbing! Being on time or timely communication - not so much...Also note that he charges 6% for credit cards so have your cash on hand. read more

First, I emailed a quote request through yelp. Emily wrote me back right away and set up a time for a crewmember to come check out my broken water heater. Great start! Tony came the very next morning. He was quick to find my problem, get all the details together, get his information back to the office and figure out my quote. Emily emailed me a VERY thorough and detailed description of the work to be done, supplies and price. I called her immediately to set up an appointment. After getting a few ballpark quotes over the phone, I knew I had to go with Schroeder. Not only was the price so fair, but the staff is so professional. I confirmed my date and time with Emily and the guys showed up Monday morning as scheduled. Aaron and Jason hauled away my water heater and installed my brand new one. They were so polite and easy going, I felt very comfortable with them needing to come in and out of the house. I stayed with my baby in my room until the work was done. They said to wait about an hour for the heater to get going. I waited about two hours and the water was still running cold. I called Emily and she knew immediately something was off. She told me they install & everything is usually good to go. I let her know I didn't have power in my bedroom or master bath and wondered if the guys hit the main breaker. She told me not to touch it, she'd send them back over and see if her electrician was available to check it out. The guys were back at my house in no time at all and let me know they DID have to hit the main breaker but figured it out in seconds. They got my water heater going AND got my power back on in my room! The installation was PERFECT, it was just my old breaker being fickle. I called Emily right away to let her know everyting was amazing and I could tell even over the phone, that she was genuinely happy to hear a good review from a happy client. I will absolutely hire Schroeder again for any of my plumbing needs, I am so happy with this wonderful company and well trained, polite and all around awesome staff! read more

My experience with local plumbers has been spotty at best. This week when I had a clogged line, I checked the Yelp reviews and decided to call Schroeder Plumbing. Brian was great. Because he called ahead, I knew exactly when he would arrive. Once he got here, he asked a couple of questions to pinpoint the problem and then in short order had cleared the clogged line. My old house has a couple of other plumbing issues that need to be addressed and he explained what needed to be done and about what it would cost. I liked him a lot and trust that I can depend on him, not just for really professional work but also for reliability, fair prices, and excellent service.
