Brought 2 of our vehicles here to have the tires swapped. A few minutes after arriving they told us…read morethey couldn't swap them because they were all wheel drive vehicles and tires were different sizes (going from an acadia to explorer). My husband and I have both worked in the auto industry do we already the tire sizes were able to be swapped, and for that matter both our vehicles are front wheel drive! My husband asked to see the vehicles while they were in the air (to double check), and sure enough FWD. He asked the girl who checked us in if she could just let tech know to double check before they give customers wrong info. She pulled the tech aside and told us tell him yourself, so my husband did. Tech had nothing to say except "ok" and gave him a dirty look. There was no "hey we were wrong we apologize"... just nothing. When cars were done my husband tried to tell the tech have a good day and he walked away and didnt even acknowledge him. We came here because ive been a customer in the past and never had an issue. 1. Not having the knowledge to know the difference between AWD and FWD - not good if youre in the vehicle repair business. 2. Not offering any kind of apology when it was YOUR mistake, just bad manners. 3. Walking away and not acknowledging a customer who was polite but pointed out your mistake and told you that you were wrong - unprofessional. We wont be back.

They would not honor the warranty. Today, we saw 4 bubbles on the side wall of another tire. Again they wouldn't honor the warranty. I would never recommend buying anything from B&R. I would recommend True Tread. They were honest and helped us with all new tires. I will always buy tires from True Tread Tires in Canfield.

I have been back and forth over the course of 16 months for repairs and during this time ONLY the oil change was done correctly. That I know of. Everything else it seems is always due a "return visit" to fix what should have been fixed right THE FIRST TIME. (See the attached pictures to this review that show clearly when they sent me out after the manifold or head gasket repair and they failed to bolt the engine back to the frame at all). That is absolutely ridiculous. I HAD been coming here for years but not any longer. I am now awaiting a call from their customer service department for 1) why do I have to continuously return to have two or three different techs come behind each other to fix what should have been fixed right the first time and 2) when they did my manifold repair was it not done correctly which caused me an additional hour and a half wait time and HOW during this repair did they somehow loosen my hood which no longer attaches to the frame correctly and vibrates incessantly. They ALSO never fixed correctly the other 2 issues. After all of these years folks, I have to warn you all! Shop at this store at your own risk because they just do not care anymore and that's a sad thing for me to say having been a loyal customer for 16, 17 years, even bring ing friends here. I am not kidding, I'm looking into legal options now to try to recoup some of the money back so that I can somehow keep my car running. Below is my original review from a few years ago which I just felt obligated to keep up since up until the last 2 or 3 years they've been fairly good to me. This is no longer the case.

Mike said to bring the car in the next morning and they could fit us in before our trip back home. Mike was there the next morning and had the tests run twice for us just to make sure we'd be okay to make the long drive home. Car made it back safe and sound and we had the car looked at by our hometown mechanic - the problem turned out to be a bad ignition switch. We were impressed with everyone's professionalism and courtesy at the Boardman location, and especially their efforts to get the car checked out promptly for us when we were in a bind. Wait time was a bit long due to a full schedule that day, but honestly -- what other shops are even open on Sundays?

With this in mind, I have tried to be trusting and loyal to a particular, major auto repair shop in the area. I come from a small town--you know who to trust and who will do right by you. Youngstown isn't a "small town," at least not where I come from. It is difficult to know who to trust here. When you own an old vehicle, are on a budget and still realize that there is a need to leave room for car repairs--it means a lot to be able to trust people with your car. When you go to a large, commercial shop hoping that loyalty might mean something and excuse you from being taken advantage of, especially as a female--you hope that you can rely on these men to be straight with you. Not jerk you around because they can and because you have a balance on the charge card you felt blessed to have to cover extraordinary charges that come along with owning an old vehicle. FYI, ladies: Don't trust everywhere you go. These guys at Pep Boys have been kind, understanding, accommodating and empathetic. They haven't neglected to help me and shoot me straight. For that, I am grateful to these guys. I'm done with Midas seriously don't even care about any "warranties" on work I have had there. They have done me wrong too many times and I'm not spending another minute in that disgusting waiting room. Thanks to Adam, Eric and any others at Pep Boys for helping me when I've needed it most. I appreciate you guys.
