I don't know…read moreexactly what that entails but just read the other reviews and after my experience with him I have an idea. His guys were pretty cool and even tried to warn me. He seems like the kind of guy who would tell you one thing and come back later to drop the bad news that you owe him double the amount because of some nonsense reason he did not mention in the previous agreement.

Moved from Fly Creek NY to Fort Mill SC. When North American showed up to pack house in NY, they…read moredid not bring enough paper or boxes. When they packed the truck up, they ran out of room and had my items in the packers' cars, roof, trunk, etc to bring to the warehouse. The items that they did not have boxes for were supposed to be packed at the warehouse. These items were NOT. They also left a $5,000 sewing machine in the driveway. When the items made it to the storage unit in Fort Mill, the items that were supposed to be boxed at the warehouse never were, and there were another family's items on the truck with our stuff, that was unpacked with ours (fortunately this was caught before the truck left). Two months later we hired a local mover to move the items from the storage unit over to the new house. While unpacking we noticed damage to a wooden table, missing plant stand 4ft high, and one wilton 5" heavy duty bench vise. We were told by North American if there were any issues with anything after we unpack to let them know and they would make it "right". After putting in the claim we were told that they were no longer responsible as we put, and they unloaded, our items into a secured self-storage unit. Yet North American moved the items as follows: Move #1 house in NY to Truck #1. Move #2 empty truck into North American Warehouse in NY. Move #3 empty items from warehouse and out Truck #2. Move #4 Storage unit in South Carolina.

Unhappy Customer - Very disappointed with this service. I moved from out of region (Indiana to West…read morePoint) but wanted to use a local company. During in the process of the move my wardrobe boxes that contained all of my clothes were somehow lost. I contacted Arnoff and was was told to file a claim. The claim then went through a claim agency and a lowball settlement amount was offered. In researching the next steps to appeal the settlement I discovered it would have only prolonged the time and cost me more money. I would have my claim sent to an arbitrator and that would have wanted receipts for my clothing items. Who has receipts for all the items in their closet? It's a racket designed to protect the moving companies. I sent numerous emails and did receive one from one of the Arnoff family members however it was just lip service in the end. I reluctantly accepted the settlement offer which was substantially below any numerical value to replace my entire closet. I sent a final email asking them to give the service one would expect from a local company and the human touch but never heard back. They came highly recommended and I have shared my story with other friends and voiced me frustrations. I can say that I will advise anyone moving to the area to use another company.
