Dr. Schwartz is an amazingly smart and down to earth person. She made me feel heard and she answered all of my questions thoroughly.

Ok. Apparently, I am not the only one who the doctor kicked out because of dissatisfaction with rude staff and a ridiculous wait. I waited 2 hours during which the staff refused to answer questions or even try to explain the delay. I learned that others were there for over 3 hours and this was normal for the office. When I was called in, the nurse said she didn't think my insurance would cover the visit. I said that made no sense as I am sure it does She took me into another room to wait to talk to doctor. I tried to call my insurance company, but it was then after 5 and, obviously, any question about coverage should have been addtessed in the 2 hours I was in waiting room and my carrier was still available. I complained, on phone, to my daughter about the ridiculous wait. And the insurance problem. Then the Doctor came in and told me that if I didn't like her office, I should leave and it was not a suggestion, but a demand. I was flabbergasted and said what, are you serious? I've waited 2 hours to see you. And she said she didn't care- that I had to leave and never come back and she would never treat me. I then said, can we talk about this? Do you want to hear what happened from me? And she said NO, and walked away She did not give me my blood test results for the tests she had ordered and i took before the visit. I was so upset that I was sick to my stomach and shaking and my heart was really racing. I have never had such a bad experience with a doctor. She is supposed to be a professional, but, clearly, does not tolerate anyone who makes amy comments of dissatisfaction with the long delays or her staff. Bottom line, while I have waited for doctors, as emergencies occur, one should never be expected to walt 2 hours and accept that as normal, without explanation and with staff being rude. And, coverage should be confirmed by staff before sending patient into doctor. Again, the worst experience I have ever had in a doctor's office. I would give her zero stars, but it isn't an option. read more

I think this may be the WORST doctor I have ever been to. Her office staff is EVEN MORE HORRIBLE than she is. Everyone in this office is incredibly rude and difficult to deal with. I had 3 exams with this awful doctor until I finally realized ITS TIME TO FIND SOMEONE NEW! If you go to this office here are some things to expect: 1) Spend AT LEAST 3 hours in the waiting room 2) Wait again while she takes personal phone calls during your exam 3) If you get a painful biopsy, and you are crying, they may threaten you with an additional fee for paying the next day if you are crying and just want to go home right away. 4) The doctor could call you at work and diagnose you with cancer over the phone and then tell you to find your own surgeon 5) The office staff could hang up on you multiple times and bill you for incorrect things Horrible office!!!!! read more

I actually really like the doctor and the staff but I have to give it one star because the wait time to see the doctor is ridiculous. I was there for over 3 hours on two seperate office visits which is absurd. I now book (1 year in advance) the first appt of the day but still count on at least an hour. I haven't had to get in there on short notice - yet. If i get any good recommendations for a replacement i will change doctors, which is a shame because other than the absurd wait time I like the doctor, the staff and the office. read more

This was the worst doctor experience in my life. First of all they must triple book because I was in the waiting room for an hour and a half and the other patients seem to find this normal with this office. When I was finally called in, a very nice nurse weighed me and got my height, the. I was back to waiting another half hour before the doctor came in. She was very nice and the rest of the appointment went well, so I kept my feelings about the wait to myself. After getting my blood results back she wouldn't call my prescription in so I had to pick it up. When I called back the next day about getting approval for my prescription for my insurance company, I was treated rudely by the secretary who didnt seem to want to help me at all. I was asking how long she thought it would take for a nurse to get back to an insurance company, and what kind of side effects I would feel from this perscription ( since the doctor didn't take any time to explain anything to me) I asked if either a nurse or the doctor could call me back. The doctor called me and basically said if you don't want to take the medicine don't, and also FIND A NEW DOCTOR. I don't know how she got the impression that I didn't want to take the medicine but that was all she had to say to me and hung up on me! I called the secretary back and she said the doctor had been listening to only HER side of the conversation and took it from there. I am disgusted with the events that went on this morning, I'm literally sick to my stomach. This is the worst experience I've EVER had with a doctor. I can't believe that these women treated me this way. I will be leaving this rating everywhere possible. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME COMING TO THIS HORRIBLE, UNPROFESSIONAL, UNCARING ESTABLISHMENT. Dr Schwartz is excellent, she addressed my many questions patiently and thoroughly. She is a rare combination of down to earth mixed with briliance. I came to her with several issues that other doctors couldn't help me with. Now, after 2 months of seeing Dr Schwartz I am feeling wonderful and full of energy. First time I was there everyone on the waiting room was complaining that they always wait more than an hour. So yup they were right after 1.5 hours I was finally taken. The dr listened and was knowledgeable. But when it came time for call back for medication you might as well die. Six phone calls later and one of office staff Maria finally called me and said I'll get to you but nope. I worked for drs and this is no way to run an office. You are in the medical care career that means people's health. I will never go back there again or recommend them. read more

She is a great doctor, and knows her stuff,, but it is not worth the wait. Usually the wait is over an hour which is absurd, but today May 25th it was over 3 hours !1 Shame on me for staying the whole time, but more shame on this office.. As good as she is, this is not worth the aggravation and I am going to ask my primary doctor for someone else read more

Go to Karen Schwartz if you : * like waiting a long time in a cramped waiting room where there are about 7 seats and two of them are in a corner where a door will hit you and you can't switch legs b/c you will kick someone. * like waiting forever and then only being seen for about 4.5 minutes by a woman who looks like she just came out of a tornado with her hair all a mess and looking like she hasn't slept in weeks. * don't want to get called back with your test results. * don't' mind having the Dr. only call you back after you have left about 7 messages. *don't mind that after waiting 3 weeks for test results, the doctor finally makes time for you at 9:30 pm. on a work night when they know you are pregnant and suffering from thyroid problems, and know you most likely will not answer because you are SLEEPING. * like getting messages like this, "Yes your levels are low and you should be on more medication. I will send you a Rx so take that and I'll see you in 6 weeks" (on speaker phone) Ok and then, when you decide you want to switch to a more competent, perhaps semi-caring doctor, and you go to pick your chart up, the SNOTTY STUCK UP receptionist will tell you that it's not THEIR fault they didn't get your results and they will then imply that YOU are wrong to want to leave their office. And then they will give you selected pieces of your chart and will not sign your entire chart over to you or copy ALL of it. And they will do all of this, IN FRONT OF all their other miserable patients who will be waiting in that cramped room for another 1.5 hours. They should be shut down. read more

I would not even give Dr Karen Schwartz (1) star. I have been going to her for years now for my Thyroid only because I can't find anyone else in my area. She is also a gynecologist, so I started going to her for my gynecological exams too. Aside from the time it takes to see her, because the wait is at lease 1 to 1 & 1/2 hours, she is incompetent. I went to her a couple of weeks ago for a specific issue and needed a vaginal sonogram, and her staff performed a thyroid sonogram instead. When I tried to tell the technician that I wasn't here for my thyroid, she insisted on doing it anyway and said that Dr. Schwartz told her I needed it because it was 6 months since my last one. I told her that I come once every year to get my thyroid checked, and that I was there less than 6 months ago and had a thyroid sonogram, but the technician continued to do the test. When it was done and I was sent back to the exam room, I had to wait another 20 minutes just for Dr Schwartz to come in to see me. When I told her that they did a thyroid sonogram and not a vaginal sonogram she didn't even apologize, she just asked the technician to take me in again to do a vaginal sonogram. By the time this was done, and I was back in the exam room, I waited another 20 minutes for Dr Schwartz to come in and see me, and then I walked out because I couldn't wait anymore. When I walked out of the exam room, the place was packed with people. I did not stop at the front desk because I had a work related appointment and could not be late. When I got into my car, I calming called the office to tell them that I walked out without seeing Dr. Schwartz for the results after my test because I couldn't wait any longer. I asked them to have her call me with my results. The office called me later in the evening that day, and the first thing they said to me was that I left without paying them. I told them that I've been going there for years and have never owed the Doctor one cent, that wouldn't my health be more important at this moment, since I was having an issue and did not get my results of the test that they performed that day. Then they put me on the phone with Dr. Schwartz. It is awful that it is so difficult to find a good Doctor these days that really care about YOU. read more
