Just called the office to get my teenager in to see an MD due to an infection in toe. She seen a podiatrist and pediatrician and was told to see a dermatologist. Because its a holiday weekend she is booked, was told the PA and Nurse are equally good, I genuinely asked then what separates them from the MD title and she said she didn't know and I responded then maybe she shouldn't respond at all if she cannot speak to both sides and to redirect the matter to the fact that this is urgent to see if the MD can make room for my daughter....she was not happy and hung up. Way to go Garden City location, I get it, you cannot handle calls that are serious, can't separate your emotions from the professional aspect. VERY disgusted right now. read more

So glad I came to this location after having a hard time with getting an appointment at the Forest Hills location. Did a full body skin check with the PA Angela. I absolutely adore her and highly recommend. She answered all of my questions and concerns. All of the staff I've interacted with has been friendly. Easy to get an appointment too. Extremely disappointed in the lack of patient care and responsibility of this place. I was seen for a sudden condition in February, for which I was prescribed numerous items after the doctor rushed through our visit, as if it was routine for her. I was scheduled for allergy testing 3 weeks later, until I got a call from this location saying my appointment was cancelled and that I'd have to wait for a call back (whenever the allergy test became available). I waited a month before I followed up with a call to ask when I can come in, and again I was told to wait for a call back. I've called numerous times since then, and no one has been able to help me get another appointment for the test. My condition has returned, I am still not being helped 4 months later, and I was billed hundreds of dollars for a 15 minute visit and prescriptions that didn't even work. read more

Came here to deal with my Alopecia on my eyebrows. I met with one of the Doctors who seems to not be working there anymore. The service was fine but the overall Office has a cold unfriendly feel to it, very impersonal. The doctor I was seeing was very blunt and in and out and I just was not happy going there. My husband saw a different doctor and felt the same way. Almost as though we're a walking claim. Moved to Wesson Derm in Great Neck and couldn't be happier. read more

The office is streaming with light and set up for comfort. The front desk staff is welcoming and efficient. A mini fridge contains water for the waiting patients. The wait is minimal. Dr Helen Flamenbaum is caring and knowledgeable. She is an excellent diagnostician. She sees you as a person and counsels and assures you during your visit. Doctor Flamenbaum is well versed in current procedures and recent publishing in her field as well as in the latest most effective products. Her pleasant assistant precedes her into the room and gets you set up. The entire experience is wonderful from start to finish. I recommend them highly. read more

Dr. Flamebaum has been my family's dermatologist for about 30 years. This was both in her own practice and when she joined Schweiger. That is how good we think she is. I had rash and blisters that spread really fast. I saw dr Jaspreet Kaur and she took biopsy sample for me. But that might i was feeling pain and itchiness so i called them. Dr Jaspreet Kaur called me on her cell phone and prescribed me medication. She said i can reach her on her cell phone if symptoms got worse. She even called on sunday to check on me. Had a small procedure done that I was told was cosmetic and wasn't covered through insurance which I found really hard to believe but didn't question it. Had the procedure done and within a day had a shingles outbreak. I went back the next day and was told I must be stressed out. Had to go to my Dr and he said no, they hit a nerve when they gave me the lidocaine injection. If that wasn't enough, they won't really write you prescriptions for medication. They want you to pay out of pocket for their in-house medication. I was told there was no topical medication for my facial issue, that I needed to buy what they had in the office. Well after the fact its an 1/8 of the price over the counter. Really disappointed in this entire experience. Wish there were better dermatologist options out here in New Hyde Park. read more

I was seen by a very good PA who did a very neat and painless surgery procedure, and answered all my questions. This office is extremely well organized. Good safety protocols in place. Dr. Flamenbaum takes a good deal of time, explains issues clearly. Her staff is always helpful. Prescriptions are ordered on time and efficiently. I have had numerous skin related issues and they have handled each one to satisfactory conclusion. Great service here in New Hyde Park. I see Angela Cusumano and she is very patient and helpful. She knows a lot about what she does and is willing to talk you through it! The office secretary - Sue is very helpful as well. She is willing to work through whatever problems you may have with insurance etc. She is prompt with her follow up calls and allows you to be less frustrated if referrals don't go through etc. I would highly recommend this dermatologist! read more

Incompetent. They can't get out of their own way to actually provide services to their patients. I made a follow up appointment to have a cyst removed. I specifically told the front desk the service needed and she told me it would be with Angela. Fine. I show up to my appointment and am told by Angela she doesn't remove cysts. Also told me I need a consult first (had my consult with Angela in February). Was a complete waste of time and money. This wasn't my first issue with them. They're also a nightmare re billing. I have been going to Dr. Flamenbaum for several years now. The people at the front desk are courteous, friendly and helpful. The waiting area is big and bright with a place to charge your phone and complimentary water in a mini-fridge. The wait is usually not long at all. I've been coming to this office and seeing Dr. Flannenbaum for a few years now. I just come in for a body scan and she has been efficient, pleasant and professional. The young assistant is great. One time I had a bad case of eczema and it was quickly resolved. The front desk is always helpful and nice. I'll be back next year. read more

I called at 3:45 pm to see if I could come in to have a rash looked at. The friendly receptionist said to come in at 5:00! I got there a few minutes early to do first time client paperwork which was minimal and exactly 5:00 I was called in to be seen! I have never experienced such prompt service and a same day appt! The Dr. was not in but a few PA's were and they handled the problem fine. I was in and out of the office quickly! My regular dermatologist had no appointments available for 2 weeks and there was always a long office wait. I plan on going to Schweiger from now on. They also have multiple locations and convenient office hours for us working people. read more

It was my first time seeing a dermatologist and I will for sure be coming back. The front desk staff was so polite and welcoming. There is also a mini fridge with complimentary water bottles for the patients. Lisa, the doctor who I saw was extremely knowledgable and kind. I had come in with what I thought was a skin infection and it turned out to be a breakout of rosacea. She explained to me everything I needed to know about my skin and how to treat it. This was my first visit to this particular Dermatologist office. I called on Monday afternoon and they were able to schedule a visit for me on Tuesday. I was surprised with the quick friendly service that was given to me. I am pretty sure upon entering the office on Tuesday, the same girl (young w/ glasses) was the one who assisted me on the phone. She is definitely an asset to the team as she was so friendly, patient, and overall just a great employee. I also then met with Angela, who was so friendly and professional. The office was immaculate and the service I received was quick and efficient. I would recommend this office to anyone and I am happy my general doctor recommended it to me. The only down fall is the parking isn't great - so definitely give yourself extra time to find a spot! read more

I've been a patient of Dr. Flamenbaum's for many years now. She is very, very serious about her patients' well being. She is thorough, compassionate and takes the time to listen to what you have to say. If not for her I may not be here today. On two occasions she biopsied two spots that didn't look like your typical cancerous lesions. They turned out to be melanoma. On other occasions she's removed a number of abnormal tissues. Doctor Flamenbaum is excellent. Office procedure with BIg Business Medicine, bigger groups, centralized appointments, pharmacy calls makes this a very frustrating place to go. They seem to have an exclusive deal with one pharmacy. After 5 calls back and forth to the insurance company, the pharmacy , the doctor's office (I did get through) I was told that pre authoriz was done, I would get my medicine. An hour later I got a call from the pharmacy they ONLY deal with and they wanted my insurance info again. I could not pick it up they would send it to me. In other words, I would not have it today. Then they told me, I WOULD NEED PRE-orthorization from the doctor. 360 degrees in only 4 hours and 5+ phone calls. NOT WORTH THE TROUBLE. read more

I had been a long time patient of this practice, but I have recently become concerned about a change in business operations that no longer allows you to connect with the location directly. Instead, the local office number that is published online connects to what seems to be a general call center for all locations of Schweiger Dermatology. It seemed impossible to contact the front desk directly to resolve an issue directly or to get in touch with my doctor about a medication issue. I was even advised that I should return to the physical office location to resolve my issue because the phone contact was so removed - this is very inconvenient to require for post-visit situations that can be resolved with better, direct communication with service providers. I can understand using a call center after hours but not during regular business hours when you should be able to reach the humans in the actual office you visit. This was not the case pre-pandemic and I think this is a very poor way to treat patients. read more

The entire thrust of this practice is cosmetic. They make no provision for calling patients with the results of biopsies. When you do call, you will be shunted to an answering service with a promise of a callback. Do not expect an immediate response because you won't get one. I felt comfortable in office. I spent minimal time at the front desk. I signed in on an I Pod, as if it was a voting machine. I've had cystic acne for YEARS and had my fair share of cortisone injections to tame big cysts that won't budge. Like all of the other Schweiger groups, they very clearly dilute their cortisone to the point that it doesn't even do anything. The PA was lovely and the front desk was prompt and efficient. But as an organization Schweiger is not reliable for effective cortisone injections because of the extremely diluted solution they use. Do not waste your co-pay, deductible or money for a cortisone injection here. It will not do a thing to decrease inflammation. read more

I saw Dr. Helen Flannenbaum for my yearly skin check 2 years in a row. She ran on time and actually did medical procedures I required in the office within about 15 minutes. I had switched dermatologists because my doctor at Pro Health on Hillside Avenue ran extremely late and asked me if I had ever been there every year. Heard of charts ever?
