Planning a move 1660 miles away requires a lot of planning and it will test your stress level. Upon meeting Mike for the first time he assured me that everything would be ok for my move from Connecticut to Florida. Communication during the entire process went smoothly and answered any questions that would come up along the way. The move went well and I give kudos to Mike and his staff. I'm so disappointed to have to write this review, but I feel that others may benefit from my experience. I'm shocked by the number of high ratings this company has, because unfortunately, my experience fell short and made for an extremely painful moving day. I have moved 12 times in the last 12 years (local and long-distance), so I've had lots of experience with different movers in different geographic areas. I always try to provide as much information as possible, when booking, to determine if a company will be a good fit. I informed the person I spoke with on the phone that I would be moving all my things from a 10x20 ft storage (large enough to hold the contents of a 3-bedroom apartment) to a two-story townhouse. I was assured that the movers would be able to handle this move, and was quoted approximately $800 for the total move. In the past I've only had two movers and this time the recommendation was for three. I thought this would be a good idea and would shorten the time for the move. On the day of the move, the movers showed up (on time, which was great) in a U-Haul, and upon seeing the contents of the storage started swearing loudly, right in front of me. I heard lots of complaining and I asked if there was an issue. One of the movers said, "no," but the three movers moved at a fairly slow pace (compared to other movers I've had). Now, I do understand it was a REALLY hot day, so I was more than understanding of the water breaks, etc. I did walk away from the storage for a short time, and when I came back one of the movers was sitting on my desk chair! I do appreciate communication, (i.e., "we're taking a short break", "we're just taking a couple minutes to rest", or even, "this won't count towards your time", etc....and I'm more than understanding.). I had them move a large table (valued at $3000) to a smaller storage unit, and they laid the large table on a tiny wooden platform with wheels and pushed it along the road like it was a skateboard. These THREE movers loaded the truck in the same amount of time it took the TWO movers to load it into storage a year ago- the same contents. They had no moving equipment (ramps, dollies, etc.) When they got to the townhouse, the pace slowed down even more- with each mover carrying one item at a time into the house (one pillow, one couch cushion, etc.), with 15-minute long bathroom breaks where one would just disappear for some unknown reason. In addition to the slow pace, this move was well beyond the capability of these movers. They did not have experience moving heavy furniture. They were heaving and yelling at each other, throughout. They were hitting overhangs, dropping things on the floor, and left all the garbage (saran wrap, etc.) behind for me to clean up. They tracked in lots of dirt and debris, leaving a lot of work afterwards. They didn't unwrap any of the furniture, which required me to lift each piece of furniture after they had left. Overall just seemed inexperienced and unprofessional. In the end, the total cost of this move was TWICE what I was originally quoted (quoted $800, ended up close to $1600) which is the MOST expensive local move I've EVER had- and I've moved to/around Boston! It took three guys 6.5 hours to do this move from a storage facility to a townhouse. I was in disbelief. I COMPLETELY understand being an hour off, but being 3 or more hours off from an estimate is unacceptable. I feel terrible writing this- It seems like I've had a different experience than most, but this was what happened. Please be wary of hiring this company. Mike and his team were very nice and accommodating. Unfortunately their moving skills are very limited. Mike sold himself and his company as something they are not. His crew kept commenting on how well I'd prepared all our things for the move. They unfortunately were not prepared. They didn't bring any moving blankets or other material to protect our furniture. When I first met Mike I inquired about how they address damages that occur during the move. He assured me that they take care of it directly rather than go through their insurance company. Unless it's a big claim. They scratched a mirror as well as quite a few pieces of furniture. They also caused sheetrock and trim damage in the house we moved out of (which I repaired). The obvious damage I pointed out to his lead man. I followed up with email and calls to Mike identifying that damage as well as additional damage I discovered afterwards. He has yet to respond. It's been over 30 days now and I've given up hope! Sad to say I cannot recommend this company. Hopefully as Mike becomes more of a business owner rather than a worker he'll understand what clients expect and to follow up rather than avoid problems. read more

We really liked the guys, but beyond that they had a job to do and it wasn't done very well. I had never used a mover before so I didn't know what to expect. I didn't realize until after the fact how unprofessional they were. They hold themselves out as professional movers, yet they were unprepared to move us. They brought a truck and muscle. They didn't have a dolly, luckily we did. They borrowed our tools to take things apart. They had some blankets but beyond that were not prepared to move fragile items. Luckily we were there and we moved our fragile items and worked beside them all day moving everything. They moved all boxes in the first truckload, thereby forcing us to move them multiple times to get shelving units and furniture in place. Our dining room table was put back together wrong in multiple ways. Our refrigerator was put back together wrong. Our hardwood floors in our new house are scratched. We were left half moved! Apparently it was a bigger job than they anticipated. We had several friends show up after work to help and we had a team of landscapers help us finish moving the next day. All of them were far more careful with our belongings and our house than the movers. We appreciate their hard work, but we hired movers and in hindsight they were not up to the task. Further, I was quoted an hourly rate and an overtime rate twice, and was told there would be no charge for the safe. I was also assured we'd be moved in one day. At the end of the day, they charged me higher rates on both accounts and noted no charge for the safe like they were doing me a favor. They had nothing to say about the scratches in our floor. I discussed all of this with them when it came time to pay the bill but it was 11 pm and I was half moved, overwhelmed, and completely exhausted so I just paid the bill. I was simply not, at that moment, up for a fight. I have talked to Mike since. He says the girl in the office messed up the quote and she was fired for it, but that doesn't help me. He assured me he'd refund the difference between the quote and the bill but he hasn't done it. It's been 6 weeks. He has stopped responding to me, so here I am. At this point, the best I can hope for is to stop any other unsuspecting victims from using this company so they do not have the terrible experience moving that I did. read more
