Friendly staff, just overpriced ice cream. A small ice cream could buy the tubs they sell it out of. Respect the hustle tho.

Bright and inviting, the shop has some old-school candy and great ice cream! The staff was friendly and parking wasn't hard to find.

My husband and I pass the signs at least once a week heading north to Macon and finally decided it was time to see what they had to offer. After turning off the highway, drive slow because this quaint little country store is tucked away just a block down the road on a corner lot. We parked in the grass beside the store and immediately noticed the rocking chairs out front filled with customers happily enjoying ice cream and cobbler. Honestly, that alone felt like a good sign. Inside, the store is small but packed with goodies. They had a produce section with fresh cucumbers, onions, sweet potatoes, and the first peaches of the season. Of course, I grabbed a little bit of everything. They also sell salsas, pecans, candies, homemade cobblers, ice cream, and plenty of other tempting Southern treats. The gentleman working there, who I assume was one of the owners, was incredibly friendly and proudly told us the peaches were the first of the season, juicy now but even better as the season goes on. Naturally, we bought some, and wow... they were some of the sweetest, juiciest peaches I've ever had. Grocery store peaches could never. I also picked up a jar of tequila salsa because I had never seen that before, and it ended up being fantastic, spicy with a really balanced flavor. Definitely something I'd buy again. Before leaving, we had to try the peach cobbler. Now, cobbler is usually my husband's thing, not mine, but this may have converted me. It tasted homemade, loaded with fresh peaches, and wasn't overwhelmingly sweet like many cobblers tend to be. They also offer blackberry cobbler or a half and half mix if you can't decide. Overall, we were really impressed with this little country store and will absolutely be back. If you're passing through Byron on I-75, I definitely recommend pulling over and giving Barbour Farms a try. Just don't blink or you'll miss it!

Caramel is suppose to be firmer and chewy. What a disappointment. Maybe we got a bad batch? Old batch? My caramel apple was the same consistency, caramel rubbed right off when I was trying to eat it. The store is very pretty though with all the caramel apples lined up at the window. The service was very good and we were helped right away. We love to support local businesses, especially when it's homemade/local treats. Better luck to others.

We walked in and it's like a candy lovers wonder land! We were greeted and asked if there was anything specific we were looking for. I told him I was told to stop by but I wasn't sure what I wanted. So this is where the hospitality started. I was eyeing the fudge, so he suggested I get a sample. I wasn't sure which ice cream I wanted, he suggested I sample . . . So sample I did until we figured out what we wanted. We took a seat outside and enjoyed the ice cream, took some fudge and other treats home and I haven't stopped raving about them to everyone. So if you are in the area, stop in and give them a try!!

This place completely met my expectations - okay I didn't use the facilities so I won't comment on…read morethe conditions inside or outside the stalls lol. I didn't buy any nuts, honey or candy so I don't know or care if those items are pricey I would assume they are since this is a roadside Stuckey's type business with a different name with or without the pecan logs and pecan divinity. I actually love the old building and nostalgic gas pumps and these baby's pump your fuel at a record breaking pace I guess this old technology isn't so bad after all even if I do have to walk twenty feet to pay inside - I pumped one hundred and forty dollars worth of gas without have to enter one bit of my personal information - no zip code - no PIN number - no car wash option - no reward membership - no prepayment guarantee this transaction was strictly based on the honor system like it should be - you provide a service or commodity and I agree to pay you for those, sounds pretty simple to me. The staff was very friendly and we interacted during the credit card transaction. This experience felt like transactions did a few decades ago and gave me the feelings that I have long ago forgotten since people don't talk any longer - the pay at the pump options may save a few minutes and a few steps but I'm not so sure I need to save a few minutes and I certainly could take a few more steps. I guess the world spins a little faster now and we don't have time to say hello or hear thank you and come again...

They are based on TRUST, which doesn't seem to happen all that often these days, as they allow you to pump your gas first, then pay after your done. Being from NY, I would have expected a lot of "hit and runs', however the staff noted that they rarely get a runner. Inside the store is a gigantic array of tourist items from nuts, to t-shirts. My favorite one was the Tommy Hilfiger colors, however the slogan read "Tommy Hillbilly". They carry a great amount of different items from you to choose from, and the pricing wasn't as expensive as some of the other 'plantation style' rest stops. I was really hoping to find some local fruits down there, however they didn't have any fresh foods, all were premade or bagged. The one turnoff was that there was a huge road sign that advertised "Cleanest bathrooms", however the bathrooms were not all that great. The mens room were very old style stalls with 4 foot urinals all the way to the floor. The bathroom didn't "smell", so if that is what they meant by 'clean', then i guess they were right...however to advertise as one of the cleanest on a huge billboard would be a lie. There were a lot of 'gnats' and 'fruit flies' flying around, however with the lack of real fruits, it makes you wonder where all these flies were coming from, or where they were going. (must be a garbage area nearby). They are located in a very convenient location, so as soon as you get off the expressway, they are right there on the corner. This allows you very easy access to get back onto the expressway, without having to go too far.
