We stopped in for lunch on Saturday at Scoops & Subs for the first time. Unfortunately, it wasn't a memorable lunch experience, and it's probably not a place we'll think of first for future lunches. Let me start with the positives. The staff member working was incredibly friendly -- welcoming, helpful with questions, and genuinely seemed happy we were there. That kind of service always makes a difference. We ordered three items: * I had the Chicago hot dog * My husband ordered the Hot Italian sub * Our daughter got the roast beef sub I ordered the Chicago hot dog. Having had a Chicago dog in Chicago before, I was excited to try their version. It was fine, but it didn't really stand out or leave a lasting impression. My husband skipped the au jus that normally comes with the Italian sub because he doesn't love a soggy sandwich, but after one bite he wished he hadn't -- the meat was dry. Our daughter said the tomato on her roast beef sandwich had that gritty texture you sometimes get when a tomato has been frozen and thawed (happens in my fridge at times). Overall, she said it wasn't the best roast beef sandwich she has had. So the summary is: nothing was terrible, but nothing was particularly delicious or memorable either. One other suggestion would be lighting. The interior felt very dim, which made it harder to read the menus placed on the bar and harder to read the details on the ice cream labels. A brighter space inside would make it feel more welcoming and easier to navigate. While we were there, a party of two came in and another group of about five or six shortly after. Both groups ended up getting ice cream only, which may be a hint at what people come here for. This is a locally owned business, and we do enjoy supporting local spots. We'll likely come back at some point and try the Hershey ice cream. Based on this visit, it just didn't quite hit the mark for us on the lunch side -- but we're open to giving the ice cream a try next time. read more

I can't tell you if the food and service is good because I went out of my way to get there and it was closed, yet when I Googled the establishment it CLEARLY STATED that the restaurant opened at noon on Sundays. There were no hours posted on the door or outside the restaurant , that I could see. It would be a good idea to tell your customers what your hours of operation are, if you want customers to show up. It would also be smart to update any changes through Google. I still want to check out this place, I'm just not happy about the runaround. I don't appreciate my time being wasted. read more

Drove passed this and the sign caught my attention because I wanted a sub. When I walked in i was greeted instantly by friendly faces. They recommended the Italian beef sub as their signature and let me tell you, it doesn't disappoint!!! We came here specifically for the monster shakes and tried the Chocolattidotti--it was dangerously good! Super rich, chocolatey, and totally over the top in the best way. My wife and I have taken pleasure in feasting from the menu at Scoops and Subs for the last two months since moving to Palm Coast. Everything is delicious; especially the designer ice cream creations. All of the servings from the grill are huge , flavorful, and prepared to perfection. The staff is friendly, and respectful. First and last time ordering from this local spot. I've only left 1 review ever for any place, but felt it necessary to leave a review for this place. Big waste of time and money. There was a hole in the bottom of my pint of ice cream, which melted everywhere, too bad it didn't melt into my extreme dry sandwich. As a restaurant manager for over 30 yrs, reviews like this hurt. I thought I'd "go for it" and try the PB milkshake (knowing I wouldn't finish it). I was disappointed. There was way too much milk in the shake - so much I couldn't taste the flavor of the ice cream that was used. The cup was half whipped cream. And, the toppings were stale - the sugar wafer cookies weren't crunchy (and not from being in the milkshake). The peanuts around the rim of the cup were stale as well, probably from being made up days in advance and kept uncovered in a cooler. I will say that the peanuts around butter brownie and cookie were delicious, though! Next time, I'll just do a brownie and a scoop of ice cream, and save the calories (and cash) for the $14 milkshake. read more

Decided to try Scoops and Subs thanks to a co worker. Right from walking in you're greeted with friendly staff that will answer any questions you have. I decided on the Italian Beef sandwich that's packed with sausage, beef, peppers and Au jus. This sandwich was Beefy (beef joke) and spicy!!!! My son and I visit restaurants in Palm Coast regularly and decided to start leaving reviews. Tonight, we visited Scoops and Subs. I ordered the Beef Supreme sandwich and it was all that and a bag of chips! The beef was perfect, the sausage was sliced perfectly and had the right amount of flavor. The veggies were perfectly placed on the sandwich, and the employee gave me the option of having a mix of hot and mild peppers, which was excellent. Overall, the sandwich was delicious, priced well, and manageable. My son ordered a chicken salad sub and he is going to review it now. The sub was very good with the perfect amount of veggies and they were evenly spread out. It didn't spill at all onto the wrapper and tasted amazing. I also got a soda and a bag of chips with it which was really cool. The staff were nice with great service. The place was calm and peaceful. read more

Wowwwww! If I could give this place 10 stars I would. We live right around the corner from this, and always wondered how it was. Glad we decided to give it a go! The milkshake was something Palm Coast has never had or can compare to... feels like something I would find in Miami or New York. My husband and I split the massive milkshake and we both couldn't even finish it after getting through the slice of strawberry cheesecake, strawberry+cream wafers, and ice cream bar on top! I stopped in today to try out an Italian Beef, the person who made the sandwich was very nice and quick but unfortunately the sandwich was disgusting. The beef and its juices were extremely bland devoid of any seasoning. Aside from the lack of seasoning, the beef itself had a strange texture and taste. Also, I've never been to an Italian beef spot and had my sandwich drenched in the broth by default, that should be something that is requested by the customer. If anything they should avoid wetting the bread as the roll they use cant even hold up, the thing was falling apart when trying to pick up the sandwich. The marconi giardiniera was the only thing they got right. I'm very disappointed given all of the positive I saw that specifically mention the italian beef.
