This is a very nice small family business. Ordered Italian Ice and Cappuccino Crunch Italian Ice both of which were refreshing and delicious. Prices were on target. There was plenty of parking outside, and a few small tables and chairs inside. Purdees was clean, comfortable, and not to be missed! They had regular ice cream, other Italian Ice flavors (no dairy), shakes, dirty sodas, Sundaes. I saw another family drinking shakes and floats, which looked fabulous! Easy to get to from highway 95 for those wanting a quick stop off highway. Definitely will return! read more

It was quite empty when we got there but don't let that fool you. The cashier was great and gave us some recommendations. I wish I had gotten photos of my daughter and husbands. They got a salted caramel flavor and the blue raspberry/cherry with sour spray. My husband said it reminded him of his childhood. Our first visit and we will be coming back. Young lady behind the counter was very pleasant and helpful. We received a free small cup of soft serve for our dog which was very nice. We happened on this place by accident. Our usual ice cream place didn't have soft ice cream because their machine was broken down so we set out on a quest. We found Purdees by accident and what a happy accident it was. Behind the counter is the owner. He runs the place himself with a lot of Love and pride in what he does. The ices are delicious and he is very obliging at letting you taste different flavors. Everything (for the most part) is either low-fat zero fat, low cholesterol. Healthy yummy's. He also has soft serve vanilla /chocolate yogurt etc. for the more traditional palates. ( they are heavenly!! ) Dole whip too!! Give this place a try for sure!! I know you'll love it. read more

I'm excuse me they have doll whip so we don't have to go all the way to Disney world to get it. Even though I love Disney, you can go to a local place that makes fruity delicious ice cream and it's cheaper than going to Disney it's just damn right awesome and they have cute game nights and it's a tropical place so of course I'm gonna go there and hang out. Amazing Italian ice and soft serve! We got cotton candy, coconut, orange cream, and chocolate and all were super refreshing and delicious. Soft serve both chocolate and vanilla were so good. Super sweet owners and free samples. Very cute store with fun decor and games like Jenga so you can hang out and eat your ice cream. I highly recommend you check this place out! read more

We ordered three items: * I had the Chicago hot dog * My husband ordered the Hot Italian sub * Our daughter got the roast beef sub I ordered the Chicago hot dog. Having had a Chicago dog in Chicago before, I was excited to try their version. It was fine, but it didn't really stand out or leave a lasting impression. My husband skipped the au jus that normally comes with the Italian sub because he doesn't love a soggy sandwich, but after one bite he wished he hadn't -- the meat was dry. Our daughter said the tomato on her roast beef sandwich had that gritty texture you sometimes get when a tomato has been frozen and thawed (happens in my fridge at times). Overall, she said it wasn't the best roast beef sandwich she has had. So the summary is: nothing was terrible, but nothing was particularly delicious or memorable either. One other suggestion would be lighting. The interior felt very dim, which made it harder to read the menus placed on the bar and harder to read the details on the ice cream labels. A brighter space inside would make it feel more welcoming and easier to navigate. While we were there, a party of two came in and another group of about five or six shortly after. Both groups ended up getting ice cream only, which may be a hint at what people come here for. This is a locally owned business, and we do enjoy supporting local spots. We'll likely come back at some point and try the Hershey ice cream. Based on this visit, it just didn't quite hit the mark for us on the lunch side -- but we're open to giving the ice cream a try next time.

You would assume making customers feel welcomed would be a top priority. That said, during today's visit we did see what great service could look like. A regular customer walked in and one employee greeted her enthusiastically while another double-checked her order because it wasn't her "usual." Each day they post a "name of the day" on Facebook where someone with that name gets a free donut or ice cream from their sister shop. Back then, tacos were under fifty cents, so I went as often as I could afford. That taste stayed with me. Fast forward to a couple of years ago when I discovered A1A Burrito Works. I walked in, and to be honest, the decor didn't impress me. But I wasn't there for ambiance. I ordered two tacos to go and headed back to my car. That's where everything changed. I tried to eat while driving. That was a mistake. These tacos were massive, packed with meat, lettuce, and everything that comes with "The Works." I had to pull over just to properly enjoy them. And then it hit me. One bite took me straight back to 1971. After decades of eating tacos all over the place, these were the first ones that brought that feeling back. The same bold flavor. The same satisfaction. The same experience I never forgot. Since then, I don't go anywhere else for tacos. If you care about flashy interiors, this might not be your place. Nothing better than Italian ice or soft serve ice cream on a hot day. Here, you can have both! Wide selection of Italian ice flavors(sugar free options as well) and soft serve options(some are dairy free). If you've never been there, stop by and treat yourself. We checked out this place on our last day of vacation on a whim. We are grateful that we did! As soon as we walked in, the owner was welcoming. He also gave us plenty of samples and helped us pick out something that we would find tasty. The dole whip is very good and the soft serve is super creamy!
