While I was there a father and his sons did a great job displaying their talents while they waited for their order and entertained us well. The atmosphere is relaxing. The choice of seating, music, and decor creates a very relaxing environment. The music I heard, I think, was a mixture of new age and smooth sounds. The seating is a mixture of black leather love seats, couches, and tables with black seats. What I think is so cool is the PAC MAN game that sits in the corner!! The owner must be a PAC MAN fan because his phone has the PAC MAN sounds on it. I heard them when he was in the store using his phone The menu is a traditional coffee shop that combines coffee, teas, smoothies, and sandwiches. But they put their own Akron and personal twist to all their menu items and so you'll find menu items here that you can't find any else. I'm really curious about their craft herbal drinks and what looks like a craft citrus honey with lemon drink. They also have a variety of baked goods that look decadent and delicious. Perhaps the most covid friendly spot I've been in in a while... upon entry you take your temperature, it's exceptionally clean, staff is well masked, and the plastic shields are surrounding the counter. May I say, it's also the absolute coolest coffee shop interior I've been in, it's practically a post modern meets a dark, contemporary style. It's absolutely fabulous! I think this coffee shop is the perfect fit for the people of Akron. A space like this truly captures what the people need! Dining is available, and I would definitely take advantage of that. There are so many comfy spaces and areas all throughout. The two baristas at the counter were super awesome and made my time in the shop super marvelous. Beyond coffee, you can also get smoothies and sandwiches! The fun part is that majority of the drinks and snacks are named after people super special from the owners family. I ordered the Monique which is quite simply a mocha! I got it iced, which meant that it was a frozen drink. It was chocolatey, smooth, and wonderfully delicious. I got a pistachio and raspberry scone, and piece of coffee cakes and what i think was a strawberry cream croissant. Also a vanilla latte to wash it down. (Note I'm not in any way bad mouthing the owner and his wife. It's an idea he has long visioned to bring to life) however. The pistachio and raspberry scone was large and dry. I know they said that they are traveled overseas tasting patisseries and I'm wondering if they're going for a more European biscuit type scone than a cream scone, which is more tender and less dry. There were no pistachios on it. I did not care for it. Next, I got the coffee cake when you make a coffee cake that big it takes forever to bake so again it turns out dry due to the extended baking tomes, lastly I got the strawberry cream croissant, which looked very pretty. I believe they were fraise de bois on top; the dough itself, unproofed, and heavy. I would like to have seen some custard on the inside with the chantilly cream on top, but it just fell short but had potential. It was an odd set up with the pastry station right being the front counter and I noticed that most of the girls working were slow due to watching the customers come in. Very distracting. This was my first time here and I will give it another shot but after they are open a bit longer. I wish them well. This again, this is one persons constructive criticism.
