1/27/25 7:00 a.m. Drive-thru I have been here several times after as well, I'm just trying to share my initial experience :) Food: We ordered 2 breakfast items (an everything bagel sandwich and a spicy sausage burrito) as well as 2 drinks; an iced matcha latte and an Oreo blender. Our food was hot and the everything bagel sandwich is really good! The spicy sausage burrito was a bit on the small side, but that's ok; we made sure to order 2 the next time lol. It had good flavor though! My matcha latte was perfect! It had the right amount of sweet and was mixed well. The Oreo blender was also delicious! It was blended together really well and the mixture of sweet vs "bitter" is great! Service: We went through the drive-thru and the service was fast! Not only were they efficient, but they were polite and didn't cut us off while we were placing our order. They were patient as well, seeing as we had never been there before and had no idea what to try lol. They greeted us with smiles when we approached the window and made sure that our items were carefully handed to us without making us feel like we needed to hurry up. Ambiance: There's not really much to say about the ambiance since it's a drive-thru only location. There is plenty of room in the drive-thru which is a plus! Twice I have gone there for the Apocalypse in the last week and both times the drink was not made right.

Picked up an iced coffee with coconut milk and a maple waffle sandwich! I was not disappointed by either item. The caramel iced coffee was not too sweet, just the right amount of caramel, coconut milk and coffee. Of course you can choose dairy or non-dairy for the blended beverage which is always a winner in my book! The maple waffle sandwich was better than any other slightly sweet breakfast sandwich treat that I've had everything tasted fresh!! I'm glad they had a drive thru as well!! read more

It sure this is the location I go to since this Scooters is a drive through only store. I have to assume all of the Scooters are the same, though. I very much enjoy their coffee. I order the skinny vanilla iced latte and it's always delicious! I barely make it to the payment window and my coffee is ready. Can't beat how fast they are. read more

This place is...alright. Needed a late place to work on homework, so the hours earned it three stars just from that. Place is pretty dead at 8pm. Tried the vanilla chai tea latte and would get it if I came back. Staff was friendly and there is a lot more seats than you'd think. They aren't currently playing music but I'm not sure if that differs during the day. Even the blender is loud as heck but the seating area is quiet. Overall, a knockoff Caribou vibe. Nothing inherently wrong with it, just nothing special with the place. read more

TLDR: Wouldn't recommend. Other shops in Ames do everything better. boring cheap coffee, less than desirable pastries, friendly staff, everything is clean, sugary options that mask coffee taste. In my quest to find best coffee shops in Ames, this will not make the front page. There's simply nothing special about Scooter's. Their staff team were all helpful and friendly at the early hours of 5:30am. I ordered a hot Carmel latte, of which was simply bland. The espresso in the drink tasted like Folgers beans. On top of that, their steaming technique is sup-par at best. I started with an inch of foam at the top of my drink and was sucking bubbles for longer than I'd ever want to. Not even the caramel could save this drink. The atmosphere was a neat, modern shop. Not a cozy place, one that feels more like a fast food restaurant. One thing I noticed above everything was how clean the place was. read more

I love Scooters coffee! Waaay more than Starbucks. And this Scooters was just as good as others that I've been to. I love their vanilla oat milk cold brew with chocolate drizzle. I wanted one of their yummy snacks but had just eaten brunch. I've previously had one of their frosted sugar cookies and it was really good! read more

Excellent staff great products, I just wish that they would make sure that everybody is friendly because I've only had one experience there two days in a row with a not so personable person at the window. We don't have Scooter's in my area, so I had to stop in and try it before leaving Iowa! I grabbed two bacon breakfast burritos and a cinnamon roll from here. The breakfast burritos are pretty sizable, so I was only able to finish eating one. The cinnamon roll was pretty good, and I liked the cream cheese icing on it. It really wasn't bad, and seems like a decent place to grab coffee, tea, and breakfast or bakery items on the go! read more

This is new to Ames, but I will say that it was a good experience! The staff was very nice and the drink I got was good!! If you love coffee, this place may not be the place for you as for what I saw they only have "sugary" coffee drinks. They serve brunch type food there as well. If you get a chance go ahead and stop in!! read more

Right now this place is brand new. It's super clean, the staff is super friendly, and the coffee remains mediocre. I heard from others that the coffee here is not the best and the choices I made confirmed that. I got a salted caramel mocha with a timid squirt of whipped cream (not what I was hoping for). I'm the person who will add more whipped cream than pumpkin pie to my plate at Thanksgiving. What made this drinkable was all the sugar from the caramel. I also ordered a cappuccino, which was weak and watery. After talking to the staff, I learned the goal is to serve a customer their beverage within 90 seconds of receiving the order. I believe this is possible with the coffee machines they have, but I would rather the focus be on quality than speed. I do hope this place succeeds. It's a nice place with wifi that is open late. There's great potential for students to gather here for studying. read more

Starbucks was closed so I decided to try it. I got a "Blender" it's way too strong. Plus I'm pretty sure it was supposed to have chocolate syrup on it... and I didn't get a receipt. Price wise it's more expensive than Starbucks which is another bummer. Covid-19 creating 1st world problems.. read more

Amazing atmosphere with amazing staff! Answered all questions I had about drinks and syrups and all that good stuff. They have a multitude of sugar free and dairy free options for those health nuts! I am greeted with a smile as soon as I walk in and feel so welcome. The music they play is great! I know I can come into this shop at any hour of the day and be served an amazing cup of coffee as they rebrew their drip at least every three hours. The espresso is hand tamped and it shows, and the microfoam is SUPERB. Not to mention all pastries are AMAZING. Try the cinnamon roll! All in all, amazing is what they advertise and it is what you will get every time you come in. I recommend to everyone! read more

Paid over $7 for a large hot caramelicious latte and asked for extra vanilla, only to be disappointed with a burnt tasteless drink. I went back through the drive through and requested them to remake it considering I paid $7 only to recieve another below average latte. You think you wouldnt be able to taste how terrible their espresso is with so much sugar in it but I dont think anything could save this drink. Workers were kind but obviously have no clue what they are doing if they are okay with serving burnt $7 lattes. Don't waste your time and go literally anywhere else in ames for coffee if your willing to spend the $7. Specialty coffee shops are better and cheaper than this... read more

Don't pay attention to these bad reviews. The girls who work here are always professional, cheery, and quick at making drinks and getting the food ready. One time I forgot to scan my points QR code and they couldn't get me my points after but that was my own fault. The coffee is ALWAYS delicious read more

Totally not a fan. The whole experience wasn't good. I understand that it's a new place and there are still things to work out, but I had to wait in line for 15 minutes for coffee and it wasn't even hot when I got it. The concept of drive-thru coffee isn't unique but if it's done right it can be a great experience. These guys are supposedly all about the good drive-thru experience. I don't think waiting in line for a cup of coffee and a bagel for 15 minutes is a great experience. The coffee itself isn't high quality at all... I'd say it's a lot like the swill you get at Burger King. The difference - I expect that kind of coffee at BK when I get it, not at a place specializing in coffee. The bagel was the highlight of my visit. Fresh and chewy as it should be and they give you a lot of cream cheese to put on it. Otherwise, not happy about any aspect of the visit. Staff were not friendly. I get it, it's 6:15 am and you're grumpy, but that's not how you win customers back. I have and will continue going to Cabin Coffee to get my morning cup. read more
