While we visit coffee shops/restaurants for the food and beverage is actually the people that make the place. The woman that took my order and spent a few minutes to chat while I waited for my coffee to be made is an absolute angel. She is the reason I'll be back. That said I absolutely LOVE the blackboard walls with the explanation of various coffee beverages, the classic offerings and seasonal is a cute and classic look to this shop. On their seasonal offerings one beverage caught my eye the rosemary & brown sugar OMG LOVE IT! The rosemary is subtle and not overpowering and the brown sugar flavor adds a hint of sweetness. (If the burrito is heated to their standard time, it blisters my mouth. I learned that the hard way more than a year ago.) My wife and our friends, on the other hand, are big coffee people and had nothing but great things to say about what they ordered. The place was definitely busy, but it never felt overwhelming. The seating is set up really well, it still felt comfortable and somewhat private, even with a lot of people there meeting and chatting. I went with a blueberry scone and it was honestly excellent. Definitely worth it. Parking is a bit limited at this location, but it seems to flow just fine. There are plenty of options on the menu, and I'm looking forward to coming back and trying more. Making it a great place to stop by when paying your property taxes, or when you're doing your jury duty. I'm glad to see that they are a proud server of Plaid Coffee. So many other shops use the same local roaster or one from St. Louis, so it is nice to see that they give us a Scottish touch roasted in small batches. I enjoyed an iced coffee. When I drink hot coffee, I drink it black. However, when it is iced, I need a little packet of Splenda and a splash of milk. To accompany my iced coffee, I enjoyed a Mini Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Bread. I was torn between a blueberry danish, blueberry muffin and the mini bread. When I asked the cashier for guidance, he recommended the pumpkin bread because it was a seasonal special. He said, the other two were always available and could enjoy them on another visit. To be honest, the mini Pumpkin Bread with Chocolate Chips did not impress me. I found it to be dry and the pumpkin flavor was faint, but it was chuck full of chocolate chips. Next time I'm at the courthouse paying the next installment of property taxes, I'll stop by again and try one of the blueberry treats. I think I may even grab one of the loaves of bread they had on sale.

I'd prefer their lattes over any franchise drink, any day. What's even better, it's a 1/4 mile from my home & on my way! I always order a vanilla iced latte w/ oat milk & sometimes an extra shot. It is perfect, every time -- their syrup isn't overpowering and too sweet, and you can taste the delicious espresso. Not bitter and not too sweet, like other places, their espresso is the perfect combo. The Abbey is always quick, accurate, delicious & made by friendly staff.
