Brought in my weed eater to them to get serviced about a month ago. A few weeks ago they called saying it was ready. Went and picked it up and it was having the same issues so brought it back. They called and said they had to order a new carburetor and would call me when it was ready. Called today so went and picked it up. Gave me a discount on the carburetor and didn't charge me labor. When they gave it to me I noticed the line had been retracted into the head and there appeared to be new wear and tear on the head. Showed it to them and they replaced the head at no charge. That is customer service. That have earned my business from now on. read more

Service is competent but slow. Courteous reception, but lags in providing updates on repair status.

These guys promised my mower would be ready by a certain date. It was not. They took an additional 4 days to do a half assed job and charge me over $800 for the privilege. The mower went in for a tune up, a drive belt change and a valve adjustment. I don't know if the valve job was done, but they left oil all over the rear deck, didn't grease the mowers zerks, didn't even blow off the air filter. When I called to discuss these issues, Glen told me that the service was incomplete because I was rushing them to get the mower back. He then tells me if I don't like the service they gave, then I should go elsewhere and hung up on me. So to sum it up, they didn't do a good job because they committed to having my mower done by a certain date, and when they didn't have it ready, it became my fault because I put too much pressure on them, and they felt rushed. I wish I could press rewind. I took my law mower to Scooters based on a glowing review in Yelp. What a HUGE mistake! I will never return and would give it less than one star if possible. When I took it in, I left a deposit and was told that I would receive a call when they had an estimate for the work. After several failed attempts to talk to someone who could help me on the phone (almost THREE weeks later), I finally did talk to someone who explained that they had a three week backlog and that they hadn't looked at my mower yet. What?!This is something they might have mentioned when I dropped off my mower or at the very least with a courtesy call. I don't know about you, but my Beaumont lawn needs to be mowed every week in the summer and the reason I took my mower in is because I NEED it. I ended up having to use a lawn service (which I WISH I would have billed to Scooters). They finally DID fix the mower (FYI-- the cost of their service does NOT match the LEVEL of service you get-- it ended up being almost twice as much as I expected). And the capper--- when I went to mow the lawn, one of the back wheels fell off. I guess it was too much trouble for the person to fixed the mower to reattach the wheel properly. PS-- I was planning on purchasing a chainsaw from Scooters but after my experience I will be taking my business somewhere else. read more

I went there yesterday to purchase a Toro Zero Turn lawn mower, as I was being helped, a customer came in (after me) and was irritated that he had to wait. He left the front and went to the back without a workorder. Apparently this irritated Scooter because he came to the front yelling and being very rude to his employees demanding that the workorder be made and printed. Two people were ahead of that customer!!! The employee helping me had to stop helping me to do what Scooter said for a customer that was THIRD in line!!! The employee apologized for the rudeness of his boss and having to take away from helping me. They just lost a sale of around $3000!!!! read more

If I could give a zero I would. I recently purchased an Encore for Scooters. Spent over 9K for a commercial grade machine. After about 50 or so hours, I noticed that the machine was leaving sprigs quite often on one side of the deck. So I took it to Scooter's and they told me it was just the blades. So after a new set of blades were installed I picked up the mower and put it back to work. I immediately noticed the same issue, so I brought it back to Scooter's. I dropped it off on a Friday and they said they would let me know what they found by Monday. After no call Monday, I called them for an update on Tuesday evening. Their response was that the didn't quite get to it and that they would finish it up the following day. This went on everyday until Friday. Friday I went to Scooter's after being promised that it would be ready for pickup by noon that day and to my surprise, all that had been done was the pulley covers had been removed. I picked up my machine at this point to explore my options to have this issue fixed. I then contacted an Encore representative to be told the closest Encore authorized shop would be in Lufkin. After about a week of discussion, they talked me into bringing the mower back to Scooter's and that they would take care of me. So I brought it to them and they said they would get to it the following day. A week later Scooter's called me to tell me that Encore agreed to cover the parts and 2 hours of labor. Scooter's relayed to me that that the remaining bill would be $275- $300. 3 weeks later I was told that my mower was ready and the total bill was $841. Now mind you I never authorized any of the extra labor that they claim to have done. Needless to say, Scooter's Lawnmower shop is not trustworthy whatsoever. They will tell you what you want to hear to get you off their back and then turn around and stick it to you. I would not recommend anyone stepping foot in this establishment. read more
