I would not recommend this bank/credit union even to my worst enemy. They find ways to take your money in small increments. For example, I have a few automatic transfers set up each week just in case I forget to transfer funds. Yet, these people continue to charge me $5 transfer fees. Been with this bank for years and I have finally reached my breaking point with them. My personal account and my joint account have had numerous breaches, trying to get your money back is a nightmare! The latest incident is another account breach with my debit card, over $500 in fraudulent charges, was on hole with fraud dept. for 40min and then told to call back later, called right back waited another 40min then was told I had to call customer service to get a new debit card and see about getting my money back! After this happening at least once a year for the past 5 years I am done! Avoid this bank at all cost! read more

They recently made changes to the way the online banking works. However they failed to inform that it was changing and that I needed to activate online banking on my account again. When I contacted customer service I was told it was because I had opted out of marketing emails. So in order to get important information I have to subscribe to their marketing. SCU was my first banking institution from age 11 onward. As I've grown, so have my accounts, including two LLCs that I currently have at my local branch. Guys -- What is the deal with the mobile app & online banking? It's not 1995 anymore. The constant security checks that lead to automated phone calls that lead to accounts being locked on a daily basis is so aggrivating. I check my balances from the same spot, on the same computer, every time. On top of that, in order to unlock the account you have to wait on hold until someone at a call center can unlock the account and then you repeat the process the next time you login. On the Google Pixel 6 Pro (a phone released in 2022!!) it wasn't until a few months ago that mobile check deposit actually worked (and who knows for how long it'll keep working). I'm starting to see where the cracks lie -- SCU is not a suitable institution for a small business in 2024. Take and store your money elsewhere. It's not worth the (sometimes daily) headache. read more

After using this bank for 10 years I cannot wait to leave them. This past year I have had some financial hardships after switching careers and this bank has taken more than 500 of my dollars for NSF. I have called and practically begged to have some of these removed as that is the difference between me being able to buy groceries or not and they do not care. Just in the last two weeks of December they have taken at 120 of my dollars for NSF. this bank is literally stealing from me when I can barely afford to feed myself. This review does not give me the opportunity to leave zero stars. as a customer with this bank for almost 20 years, they were not willing to extend me a loan. as in.... i GAVE them free money all these years, that they used to make themselves money, and now when i request a loan, they consult/rely on an arbitrary number to make their decisions, rather than REAL/pertinent info, like... 'can this person afford a monthly loan payment?' if the answer is 'yes', and auto-withdraw is a 'thing', what risk are they actually taking? i'll tell u... they 'risk'/ensure that i will leave them, taking my money and telling my story, that customer loyalty is not valued here. deposit your money somewhere else. read more

Don't feel welcomed , it seems every time I come to this place they love not acknowledging me in line , I swear I would be next in line or second and the lead would walk off doing stuff , no , one moment, will be right with you , the line can be long , to bad for you , once I left got in my car went threw the drive thru because I noticed it was moving faster . you can just tell she's real comfortable with her job , as if she must had work there for years and not worried about being fired or customer service. I have multiple accounts with this banking institution and they offer great rates. I have a savings account and my car loan with them among the multiple accounts. Always receive courteous service! I have not had a single complaint with the bank, ok well one little complaint is that I wish there was a way to pay my loan online without involving my other bank and a fee!! While I was banking with Scott Credit Union, my debt card was stolen and fraudulent transactions were made. It was about $200 worth. I filed a police report. The girl that stole it was arrested and charged. I filed fraud paperwork with the bank. Turned in a copy of the police report to them. I got the money credited back to my account. I ended up later closing my account with them because I moved to a different state and they didn't have those banks around here. Some time later I noticed Scott Credit Union hit my credit report with a charge off account of $340. I called them up and they tried to tell me I never gave them a police report and never filled out the fraud paperwork which was LIES. I actually had my fiancé with me at the time I filled out all the paperwork. He still lives in the area so I called him to obtain yet another copy of the police report to give to them. I called them and they told me it was past the time frame to claim fraud and there was nothing they could do about it. Well I gave them an ear full and he brought them the paperwork. They reported a 0 balance to the credit bureaus and it is still negatively affecting my credit FIVE YEARS LATER. They promised me they would remove it and they have yet to do so. I've waited months and it's still on there. I will be reporting them to the FCRA. They have damaged my credit score for 5 freakin years over something I had no control over!! I moved to California and closed my SCU accounts a number of years ago. Today I receive a letter from a collection agency for $71.33. Have not received any contact from SCU, mail, phone, or email. Called the credit union and they say an auto credit card payment posted a year ago. I have banked with Wells Fargo since I moved to California in January of 2006. read more
