The smallest signs that said "not for bags" were written in sharpie on tape. I was sure I picked all the bag eligible items but when I went to check out every item was rung up. So instead of 7 dollars it came out to 23. In response to owner- I looked for the signs as best I could, I thought all these things I picked out were good to go. The signs are very small and not obvious so it's hard to tell what is individually priced and what's not. Everything in the store has a price on it. But yes next time I will triple read the signs to avoid paying 22 dollars for old pins and beads!:)

There's currently 3 aisles with glass sheets, some tools, supplies and items for kiln work. As always the owner was very nice and helpful. He offered to get my glass to my car. One you enter, you go through a small room into another and then up a couple of concrete stairs, then you're there. They still have the best selection in the area (and almost the only selection that I know about south of Burien).

From knives to pots and pans to kitchen gadgets you didn't think you would need until you see them. They even have makeup, hair products, clothes, and anything you can think of. It was so much fun roaming around this store, and they have a variety of the same item. For example, my goal was to get a butcher knife. They have big ones, small ones, heavy ones, ones with short handles, and ones with longer handles. I spent a long time picking one out to my liking. The inside feels like a big warehouse with everything neatly placed in a way that you can just walk up and down the aisles with ease. There was so much to look at that I felt like I spent close to an hour or more here. Some things were reasonably priced, while others were a little higher. It really depends on what you plan on getting from here. I almost got a wok from there but decided against it because the one on sale was a little bit too heavy for me. If you are in the area and love kitchen things, I would suggest going to Shin Shin to check it out. It was fun for me, and I plan to take my mom there on our next trip to Seattle. However, I might regret that decision later, because my mom would just spend her entire trip there and not want to leave. Haha, I will keep you posted on this. Parking is plentiful. Credit cards are accepted. One thing that caught my attention, though, was that the employees would stare you down after a little while. Instead of having security cameras, they have employees at every corner who would randomly show up next to you to ensure you are "shopping" and not stealing. As other Yelp posts have noted, they do have attentive store personnel that are at the ready should you have any questions. Unless you're a regular shopper, one will definitely be wandering and browsing every aisle since there are no overhead signage. After all that wandering, I did end up paying for a substantial back scratcher for The Homie and a floral print quilted vest for my mom. Both were reasonable and one was even on sale! Chalk it up to, you don't think you'll find anything in particular, but stop in Shin Shin for some momentary retail therapy.

I had reserved a 12:00 PM time slot and arrived at 11:30 AM. The extra time allows you to complete the paperwork, choose your design, and your colors. Plus you can admire the shop while you wait - they have tons of finished pieces for purchase. We chose tier 1 options; round paperweight and heart paperweight. The representative at the front desk is so nice and helpful! She walked us through the entire process and what to expect before we entered the workshop area. We had Donovan as our glassblowing expert. He is so knowledgeable and very communicative throughout the whole process so we felt comfortable every step of the way. He truly made our experience memorable! The experience was so fun and unique, we are definitely looking forward to coming back again. For two of us, we paid a little over $200 without tip. It's a great value for a fun, hands on experience that you have an art piece to take home (after a few days). They also offer different workshops throughout the year, have an annual collectible glass piece, and even Memorial Glass pieces. I would give Tacoma Glassblowing Studio a 10/10 if I could!

I highly recommend this place for when you are looking for a great date night experience, a solo experience, or just about anytime you feel like doing something unique and creative. The best part about it is, that after you have created your vase, or pumpkin, or paperweight, or whatever it is that you have made, you get to keep it. It will need to "cure" at their facility for a couple of days, and then you can come back and pick it up. I can't wait to do it again! :)
