Horrible customer service. Dr King is an entitled pathetic man. He got upset because my wife answered the phone for a few secs to tell work she is at the doctor's office and Dr King leaves and comes back and says " are you done" and felt the need to lecture my wife like a child on why she shouldn't have answered the phone for a few secs. But yet every time we visit, wait is very long and then he tries to make small talk about his personal life. And my wife is the one who is "wasting time" but he can go on and on and on about his life we don't care about. Unbelievable horrible customer service. If you ever come here, make sure to bring your kitchen and might as well bake a cake and some cookies cuz you'll be waiting forever. read more

The wait is painfully long between sitting down in the exam room until you are actually able to see Dr King, but it's worth the wait. My experiences so far have been positive. He's extremely thorough, while being realistic. He's provided second opinions to ER visits and shown that he's a bit better than some of the ER doctors. He's chosen to run the right tests and found the root cause instead of having more of a wait and see attitude. He takes the time to explain everything in detail, and doesn't make you feel rushed. read more

This review has been long overdue. Was my family doctor for years when I was in Texas. Great doctor! Waits may be a little long, but I think you have to expect to wait a while at any doctors' office. After the first visit, and seeing how thorough he is, not rushing you out like most people do just to make a few more bucks, I can understand the wait. His nurses are very nice and helpful. He even has Saturday clinics (i think he alternates with the other doctor on the weekends). When you are sick and feeling at your lowest, Dr. King is definitely the guy to give you the attention you deserve, answer all your questions, and gets you feeling better. Not the type to overcharge you or run extra test just to make a buck, but genuinely cares, IMO. read more

Dr. King is one the best. He became my family doctor within the last year. He is very attentive to the patient and takes the time to make sure your concerns are met and explains everything in detail. Most offices take forever to get into and then you are rushed out. Not so with Dr. Kings office. His front office is also very organized and attentive. The people up front are always so helpful. I know when I walk into his office that I am in good hands. I truly have not ever had such a great experience with a doctors office. We have never had any problems with billing. I actually recently had an ongoing episode with cellulitus in my leg where I thought I needed to go into the hospital but was unsure, he allowed me to stop by on a Saturday last minute (and they were just closing too) to get a status on the leg. He decided it was time for me to go to the hospital, printed out all of my current treatment up to that point himself, and told me about the possible hospitals in this area and their ups and downs before arranging for me to be checked in. He did all of this on a Saturday pass business hours and did not even charge me for the visit. Not sure what is going on with the other review on here with billing but sounds odd to me. 4 years later, I am SO glad we switched doctors. We don't have the long wait times, we don't pay anything until the bill is run through our insurance, so we pay much less, the staff is much nicer and the waiting room is much cleaner. read more

I have been seeing Doctor King for more than 20 years. Doctor King treats my family of 5 plus other family when they visit. We have nothing but praise for Dr King and staff. Some people when posting a negative review must ask themselves if they are the actual problem and take accountability. I saw Dr. King for the first time this week, and while we did wait about 30 minutes in the exam room, the wait was certainly worth it from the moment Dr. King walked in. He was so great! Having recently moved to the area, our family had not found a doctor as of yet. After a long deliberation and internet searching, I chose Dr. King based on the Yelp recommendations. Yesterday, I became sick with chils, fever, sweats and more importantly had trouble breathing (I'm prone to asthma). I called Dr. King's office at 9:00am this morning explaining my condition to his nurse's answering machine and asked if I could (at the very least) get an inhaler since I can not find mine. No one called me back, I called again around 11:45am and did get through to the nurse. She advised me to go to the ER because of the breathing issue. Honestly, I can understand the trepidation to see me because of H1N1 but an emergency room was the last place I wanted to be. Needless to say, I was frustrated since their website states that walk-ins are welcome. I'll assume that Dr. King is a nice man and possibly a good doctor but I will never find out because I called Baylor Family Practice. They did see me today and I was given the medicines that I needed to clear up my chest congestion. (Please read my review about Baylor) I am very grateful to the staff at Baylor for fitting me in today, from now on I will entrust my family's care to them. read more

Just had the WORST experience ever at Dr. Scottie Kings office in Sachse today. This was my second experience with the office Manager. She is the rudest person I have ever had to deal with that I can recall. I rescheduled my appointment earlier this month for today due to Insurance issues, at the suggestion of the girl who handles insurance at their office, and they charged me a NO SHOW fee!!!!! I refused to pay it because I shouldn't have been charged so she said I couldn't be seen today!!!!!! She is such a RUDE, COLD HEARTED person I have ever met. This was my second encounter with her and both times so rude!! read more

Dr. King is funny enough personality wise. I feel he knows his stuff medically but the office is very over-worked. It's often hard to get an appointment with him A couple times he's hired a Physician's Assistant, but they never stayed long. I recently moved out of state but I stopped going to Dr. King because his refills of even minute meds like Allegra wasn't very long, he wants you to come in frequently and after my last blood labs his Medical Assistant called to tell me I needed to take "this pill" and wanted to know what pharmacy to call it into. It was like pulling teeth to find out why it was so important I take some new medication. Ended up being for Hypothyroidism. Instead of having me make an appointment or have an RN or more experienced MA contact me I was told to take the medication and come back when I needed more, a little less than informative and kinda scary at the same time. read more

I had been a patient of Dr. King's for nine years and had been very happy with him as my primary care physician. About five years ago I moved to another city thirty-two miles away but kept him as my PCP. I called his office for a "partial" refill of my thyroid and high blood pressure medications but was DENIED. Two days prior I had hand surgery which would have made the long drive difficult. I only wanted a week or too of my medication prior to going in to see him. Needless to say this upset me but I said nothing. I called back two weeks later to make an appointment (for refills) and was told I would have to pay a late charge of $25.00 since I had a remaining balance of $10.31. I acknowledged my balance but did not feel the late charge was warranted as I had never had a running balance before and it hadn't even been three months. They would not relent stating, " it was their policy." To be charged a late balance that exceeds the money owed seemed excessive to me and since this was my first time to have a remaining balance I felt Dr. King's office staff should have waived the $25.00 late charge. I am on social security and the money is not easy to come by. Either they are wanting to get rid of their medicare patients or need the money to pay for his new office... I'm not sure. I drove to his office, paid my balance AND late charge and also paid another $25.00 for my medical records. I will not be going back since his staff had no consideration whatsoever of Dr. King's long term patients. read more

I am a new patient, friend had a flat on the day of appointment and wanted to help out. Missed my appointment, called to reschedule and they said no, we save for only new patients only!!! I am new! Very rude kept saying you cant miss appointments! I can't rate the actual doctor, because I never had a chance to meet him. What a waste of my time. Dr king Is the best been going to him for almost 17 years. When he worked at the hospital. All 3 of my children seen him from babies and love going to him. I hit some hard time and he worked with me and didn't ask questions. Would recommend him anytime. You will not be disappointed. read more

Dr King is a caring doctor. I have used him for about 7 yrs. I had to change drs because the wait is terribly long,even with an appt. He also has a rule "only one illness per patient."
