I brought my cat in for a lion cut on July 26th at 7:50 a.m. I called at noon and the groomer still hadn't gotten to her. I called again at 4 pm. The groomer was so late getting to my cat that she woke her from anesthesia mid-way through the cut. I got my cat home and she had a cut on her rear. She was stressed out and licking it obsessively. On the morning of August 6th she was trying to pee and blood came out. I called SLVC and was told they couldn't see her until the afternoon. I told them it was urgent and was told to bring her in and they'd get to her as soon as possible. Again no one attended to her until the end of the day. I asked that they put a cone on her but instead they gave me one that was too small. I told the receptionist it looked too small but she said it was the right size. It wasn't. The next morning my cat peed more blood than the day before. I brought her back in and she was given an anti-inflammatory shot and a different cone. She was stressed by the cone but the cut still hadn't healed so I didn't take it off. SLVC denies that she was cut during the grooming, despite a photo I took right afterward. I liked the previous owner. Now that she's gone the quality of service has declined and I won't risk my cat's health by bringing her there anymore. read more

We have been Scott Lake Vet Customers for the past 10 years. Over that time we have seen a few Vets, but over the last few years shifted to Dr. Zack. He is personable, takes his time to explain the pets health and always helps explain all of the options. The techs and staff are very friendly and take great care of our pets over the years. We took our first dog, a Yorkie hers and they took care of him from puppy through his almost 12 years of life. They were there for us and very supportive when our dog had kidney disease and ultimately we had to put home to sleep. They had a special devoted room for this purpose, they didn't rush us and let us say goodbye and grieve in our own time. They sent us a nice card with our Yorkies paw prints and staff signatures. We adopted 2 rescue pups and they have been taking care of them for 4 years now. They have excellent professional staff who are very kind. The only thing I don't like is the new Covid setup, but they had to adjust. I would highly recommend, but yes I do think it is expensive. read more

I have taken my dog and cat to Scott Lake Veterinary Clinic since 2010. Over the years, I have seen every doctor at one time or another, and have always received great service. My dog has skin allergies and Dr. Sweers has been knowledgeable and willing to try various treatments. Dr. Zanol has taken great care in monitoring the wellness of my senior cat. I also bring both of my pets here for grooming and appreciate the care Julie takes with her lion's cuts, and Bryce always does a great job with my dog. I am thankful to have a veterinary clinic where the doctors know my pets and consistently provide quality care. Highly recommend. read more

I had been bringing my dachshund, Griffin, to Scott Lake for years. When his pain became too much, we made the hardest choice as pet owners to let him go in peace. We filled out the paperwork and paid our bill. We opted to pay extra to have our boy cremated separately, so that we could keep his ashes in his memory. Weeks went by with no communication from Scott Lake. After several phone calls, they told us that we had to make an appointment to pick his ashes up. When we went to pick them up, we were informed that since we opted not to purchase an urn for his ashes, that they were DISPOSED OF. They disposed our beloved dog's ashes because we didn't buy an urn. Forget the fact that we paid the extra $100 dollars to have him cremated separately! I can't even express my feelings. Hurt, anger, frustration, sadness... this is unforgivable. I really liked Scott Lake before this. I sent my friends there. I recommended this place to random strangers looking for recommendations. This is not ok. There is no fixing this. We were reimbursed for our office visit on that horrible day, but that doesn't make this right. How could something like this even happen? I wrote this same review on their Facebook page, and they promptly deleted it. Please take that into consideration as well when you're looking for a vet for your animals. The end of life is just as precious as the end, and Scott Lake has destroyed part of our memory of our sweet Griffin. read more

I have a very old cat that has been on the same prescription food for many years and suddenly they are refusing to fill his prescription. He needs this food to avoid to crystals in his urine. They should be ashamed. They actually called me back and said it was "illegal" for them to fill his cat food prescription. Seriously... You would think I was trying to get a pain medication filled. It seems to me like a shameless attempt to get him into the office for unnecessary testing. Thankfully you can buy the food on Amazon without a prescription. read more

I was referred to Scott lake to get a 2nd opinion on my Dog's cancer diagnosis. Not only did they rerun several of the tests for free to verify the original results, but the surgery also came in at $400 cheaper than the quote from my original vet. The surgery went perfectly and they answered every question i had. The follow up visit was perfect and they worked around my schedule and even stayed open a little late to accommodate me. They also made several follow up calls after the surgery to make sure I had no questions and everything was going well. I recently rescued a puppy and on the first vet visit they once again ran several tests for free that the rescue vet ran to verify results. The vet for his appointment was the same one who did the cancer surgery for my older dog. She immediately asked how my older dog was doing, and how he was handling the puppy. She even gave us advice and different activities we could do to help my older dog acclimate to the puppy. Ive since moved all my vet services to them. They are always honest, give me options of what they recommend but always tell me if we can get by without the test or service. They always take time to answer every question and never rush an appointment. read more

I Just got my 9 year old dogs teeth cleaned at Scott Lake Vet. I was nervous about him going under anesthesia, but Dr Sweers and the staff took great care of him. They gave me detailed info and an estimate prior to the procedure. I was pleasantly surprised that my dog was hardly groggy and actually happy when I picked him up. They gave detailed info and follow up after the procedure. and called a couple days later to follow up. We had utilized Scott Lake Vet's services for over 6 years. When we first took our animals to the clinic the staff was very helpful, they always made sure to answer any questions, and were always able to work with you in scheduling appointments that met your needs. In the past couple of years, we have seen a big change in the customer service at this clinic. You are not able to get straight answers from anyone, and the answers you do get are incorrect. BEWARE!!! Our dog had a surgery completed here on January 27, 2016 and it was the worst experience we have ever had anywhere! We were unable to get any answers to our questions the morning of surgery, and left our puppy there feeling very uneasy about the whole situation. We were quoted $2600-$2800 on January 14th by the owner of the clinic, but then they tried to charge us $3100 at time of pickup. (They did decrease the amount to $2800, after arguing with the owner and office manager about the incorrect quote.) We utilized the CareCredit financing option that is available through the clinic, and was told by the staff (at least three different people) that we would be receiving 24 months interest free financing due to our total bill amount being $2800. Once we received our first bill, we noticed that we were being charged 14.9% interest?!?!?!?!? When I was finally able to reach the office manager, she advised they could not give us 24 months interest free financing because they do not offer it. She was rude and inconsiderate, and refused any fault for her staff not being informed or aware of the available financing promotions for the card. I contacted the credit card company that backs the financing for the card, and they completed an investigation of the incident. They did in fact change our financing promotion to 24 months interest free, they removed the interest charged for the 1st month, and advised the clinic would be contacted by them for additional education on how to promote the card to their customers. Now it is time for our puppy to have a checkup to see how his leg is healing. We will be taking our puppies to a different clinic, and this clinic requested their past medical records including the x-rays from the surgery. I contacted Scott Lake Vet one week ago by emailing two different email addresses I had on file for them, and I have yet to receive a response. I was trying to avoid having to go into the clinic, because I was told by the investigator at the financial company for the card that she had received a message from the office manager and she was not happy. It saddens me that the service has gone so downhill, we used to love bringing our pets to this clinic but will never do it again. I only give them one star for the great service they used to provide years ago. read more
