I'm here to write an honest review after seeing some of the negative feedback for this place,…read morebecause I had a great experience, but I understand what some people are saying and I want to give my 2 cents: So first of all, I came here on accident lol. I went on my insurance's site to find a list of network dentists. I put a 5-10 mile limit. Why after I booked my appointment I come to find out that, not only was this place NOT within a 10 miles radius, it was in Kingwood on the other side of the world, the exact opposite of where I live, an hour away. Oops. Well that's my fault. But I needed to have emergency treatment for a deep cavity and the least I could do was get that taken care of, and I was able to get an appointment the very next day. I'm just gonna say, I'm not terrified of the dentist, but I get very apprehensive at the doctor's office nonetheless. I knew I needed work. I let my teeth issues get the best of me. I knew I was going to need a lot of work. It's been a few years ngl. The last time I was at the dentist (2 years ago) they said I needed 4 root canals and 2 cavities filled, with a price of 10K. Who got that kind of money to spend on 4 teeth? So when they did my exam I was relieved to hear I only needed 1, maybe 2 root canals and possibly a bridge depending on how I wanted to tackle a certain problem. So what can I say? Everyone was super nice. Professional. Empathetic. Dr. Hasan was supersweet. Alexa the finance manager was super professional and very good at building rapport and explaining finances. The place is clean, modern, in a nice area, and gave me no red flags. No one was rude. I had a positive experience. That being said, what did surprise me were the costs of services. I know it's been years since I've been to the dentist, but I wasn't prepared to hear $1200 for a deep cleaning, a few bands for root canals/crown, $1,000 for a possible extraction. I know inflation is rampant, but is that the ongoing costs now for these services??? When I read the comments it became clear that I wasn't the only one. So here's what I think is going on: Lake Houston Smiles Dentistry is a high end state of the art dental practice with a contemporary take on how oral health should be addressed. My personal consultation for the treatments involve terms and practices I wouldn't see in a regular dentist office (e.g. concentrated light therapy). In fact, I bet they would see most dental office doing "outdated" procedures, with outdated equipment. I really believe you're getting top tier treatment if you go in with that mindset (and wallet). I think the problem is marketing. I think they need to cater to an audience willing to pay top tier prices for high end oral care. This is not a place for budget minded individuals. I mean, Kingwood is a nice area so it makes sense on a geographical note. If this practice was set near the Galleria, I bet they would get 5 out of 5 stars. Overall, If you're willing to spend money for superior oral care, I would recommend this place. I didn't have a bad encounter with any staff personally. But there are way more affordable options that will meet your needs at a fraction of the cost, without the bells and whistles.

I had a great dental visit today at Lake Houston Smiles Dentistry. My experience was top-notch from…read morethe moment I walked in. Their front staff was super friendly and kind while checking me in for my appointment. I was first greeted by Dr. Sarah Eubank in the waiting room, and she then led me to the X-ray room, where I met a great dental hygienist and X-ray technician, Emily. Overall, Emily was very professional, kind, and caring throughout my entire visit. It was probably the best X-rays I've had in a while. Typically, getting dental X-rays comes with a lot of discomfort, but Emily made the process super easy and efficient. After my X-rays, they took me back for an analysis, during which Dr. Eubank found a cavity below one of my old fillings, meaning I'll need a crown. Dr. Eubank clearly explained what needed to be done and had one of her front desk managers, named Emily, provide me with a breakdown of what my insurance, Delta Dental, would cover. They kindly explained my dental insurance's "UCF" (usual and customary fee) for today's procedures and what to expect if and when I decide to proceed with the crown. They weren't pushy at all, but highly recommended it, which showed their care for their patients. For the X-rays and cleaning with fluoride, they printed out financial arrangement sheets showing what I would owe. Thankfully, I won't owe anything for those services, but the crown would require out-of-pocket expenses. Either way, they were clear and transparent about what my dental insurance would cover and what it wouldn't, which I found very admirable on their part. Overall, Dr. Eubank, Ashley, and Emily were all kind, professional, efficient, and caring, which I greatly respected. This is a great dental office with quality, kind, and caring professionals working there. If you have any questions about your dental insurance and what it covers, I highly recommend asking them before committing to a procedure--they did this for me upfront. It's refreshing to see a dental office prioritize quality care and ensure patients are well-informed about their insurance coverage. The outpocket costs seem to be a little higher than normal, but it appears they may be charging in the range of what normally is charged for these procedures. Overall, their estimated fees were lower than the average 'UCF' printed on the sheet they gave me, so I am sure they are constantly reviewing the proper costs to maintain their patients over time. Well, at least I hope so. To me, a good dental office starts with caring professionals who love what they do, all while charging what should be charged for patients in a reasonable fashion that doesn't scare patients away. To me, they seem to be doing this, unless I get a surprise bill next month, which I highly doubt as they were very transparent on costs by printing the financial arrangement sheet out. P.S.: I've read some reviews from other patients about bad experiences with insurance billing here before I went in, but I had a feeling this might be a great dental office by simply the cleanliness and professionals working there who I encountered, and I was right. One just needs to ask them to explain everything clearly to avoid any surprises. Either way, I can't speak for others on Yelp here, but my visit today was excellent and I was quite fortunate. One can see they truly care for their patients, if you give them a chance to show you. Thank you again for the care today, Lake Houston Smiles Dentistry. Happy holidays and take care!

And rather than referring me to a specialist who could complete the procedure I require, they told me it could be completed by them. Turns out that's not true. Despite their confidence in the straight roots of my tooth, the Dr couldn't complete the procedure. So here I am, 6 hours after my procedure, in substantial discomfort and pain (I was told there would be none) waiting for my appointment with a specialist next week. In the meantime, I have a temporary "filling" to hold me over. Due to this offices greed, over confidence, or lack of understanding of their capabilities has left me in a terrible position - 2 days prior to christmas none the less. I will admit, they worked with me to locate an Endo post op at their office. However, they locate in network providers, rather have recommendations or qualified personnel that they would trust. All in all, I feel duped. The first comment made to me pre-op was that if they can't finish some how I'll be referred to a specialist. That's an interesting comment to make pre- surgery - "if we can't do this, we'll stop half way and have you finish the procedure with someone more qualified days later" PLEASE don't go here for work that an Endo should complete. I have learned the hard way that my relationship with this office should have ended at teeth cleanings.

Totally agree with recent review from another patient. Normally this is my go to dentist. I…read morevisited several times for tooth pain and was finally told I needed a root canal (After replacing the crown which didn't work). At this point he had taken several X-rays. On the day of my root canal he decided to do another X-ray and now he decided it was the tooth next to that one and that tooth would need to be extracted. Long story short I went to an endodontist who determined the tooth he had recommended to extract was perfectly fine and the original tooth did need a root canal. After wasting several months trying to get this tooth fixed it was finally fixed by the endodontist and pain was gone. Between the wrong information and the time wasted, I will not be going back.

I keep calling every month, I receive a bill showing the charges and also they keep adding on collection fees. I never received 1 bill until 6 months later after treatment, even after I paid all my portions. I paid all my copays and paid for everthing not covered by my insurance, still getting bills even after I spoke with them and was told insurance has paid it all. This is the most incompetent company I have ever experienced. DO NOT GO TO THESE PEOPLE!!!
