The dentist knew I was not happy with the new dentures, told me "...my face will relax over the dentures in time...". This has been several years ago. I went back once, had a liner put in, the dentist then said "...there's nothing more to be done, no reason for you to come back." There went $5,000, just like that. The work had been performed in Maine and I just didn't know where to turn now that I was living in Zephyrhills full time. I'd had a horrifying experience with a different dental practice in town that necessitated my need for dentures in the first place so to say I was a bit "gun shy" is putting it mildly. He knew I was traumatized by the entirety of the situation at hand and that he was quite literally my only hope. He also knew that finances were a big issue for me but he never made me feel inferior because of it. My history with dentists has been fairly awful so when I finally went in for a cleaning in over a decade, I was dreading the mockery and derision I have received before. But everyone I met there was so kind, and since then I have had a crown installed and it was near painless and saved me so much trouble. I saw the same dental clinic for 20 years with my most recent visit/checkup in December 2024 prior to moving to Florida. I found New Zephyrhills Dental through a simple Google search and they had solid reviews so I booked an appointment. My first mistake was not looking at the one-star reviews. I explained to the young lady that I spoke with that I just needed a routine exam and a dental cleaning. We settled on a time that was about a week out and I assumed that this would be a routine dental appointment. It was not. I had a 10 a.m. appointment but was not taken back until 10:15. Not a big deal. The clinic is set up as an open bay concept with partitions separating individual patient areas so you can see and hear everything that is happening in the clinic. I waited another few minutes for the young lady that brought me back to take x-rays. I informed her that I had a small mouth and x-rays can be a little difficult. She did not listen. Instead, she tried to put the biggest dental x-ray sensor holder she had into my mouth. When she realized it would not fit, she went down to a much smaller size. It took at least 30 minutes just to get x-rays of my mouth! Then I met with the dental hygienist to see what type of cleaning I needed. I am sorry - what? I am here for a routine exam and a dental cleaning. He looked inside my mouth and poked at my gums with sharp instruments; left the room, without saying a word, to get another sharp instrument - poked in my mouth some more and then said, "I have some good news and some bad news. You need a deep cleaning." He then proceeded to show me on my x-rays as to why I needed a deep cleaning. Keep in mind -- I have been seeing a dentist regularly for the past 50+ years and the same clinic for the past 20 years and not once did my dentist (who I trust) tell me I needed a "deep cleaning." I refused and proceed to start to leave and he said no, we are not done, I am going to get the dentist. I should have left. The dentist came in and looked at my x-rays and inside my mouth. I told him my previous dentist was keeping an eye on a certain tooth and if it was not bothering me, we were going to leave it alone until it became an issue. He said I am good for now. I asked him why I needed a deep cleaning and he said he just goes with what his dental hygienist recommends. I'm sorry -- aren't you the dentist??? He then sends in his office manager to talk to me about scheduling all the appointments needed for a deep cleaning and again I refused the painful and expensive deep cleaning, she said we don't do routine dental cleanings and I said fine I will go somewhere else. And she proceeded to tell me that if I do not get that one tooth taken care of it could be more than just a crown. So, a little fear mongering thrown in with--if you're not going to do the expensive, painful procedure we want to do -- we're just not going to treat you at all. Cool beans. Plenty of other dental practices in Zephyrhills. The office manager said she was going to send me the x-rays and 48 hours later, I still have not received them.

I had a slip and fall accident resulting in a fractured jaw and major dental damage and was told by the ER that I needed to get immediate dental attention within 48 hours. This happened on a Saturday night prior to the MLK Jr. Holiday. Needless to say, it was impossible to get any dental office on the phone on Sunday, and after dozens of phone calls, we finally did get an answer from ADA. We explained our situation, that I needed emergency dental services, that my lip had been split and I had limited mobility, and that my jaw was fractured. They were very sympathetic on the phone, but never indicated any inability to provide the services needed. When we arrived we went in and were told that they needed to do a catscan image of the dental area to determine what needed to be done. We consented to the imaging. Once the imaging was done the doctor came in and basically said that he could do nothing. Absolutely nothing. He said he needed to get more x-rays from inside my mouth, which could not be taken because I could not open my mouth wide enough for them to take pictures. He rescheduled me, and pushed the appointment out a full week, even though I had been told that I needed work done within 48 hours of the injury. They charged me $390 for a picture (that they didn't use) and to sit in their dental chair. The kicker is, while I was in the office getting worked over, my husband received a call from another similar dentist, who advised, based on the ER report, that a standard dentist could not help me. I needed an oral surgeon, and he recommended that I continue to try and find one. IF THIS DENTAL OFFICE HAD EVEN AN OUNCE OF MORAL FIBER THEY SHOULD HAVE TOLD ME THE SAME BEFORE CHARGING ME $390!!! Oh, and also, after we left the office we were able to get an appointment with an oral surgeon, who WAS able to do everything that needed to be done, to include resetting my teeth, and ensuring the damage to my jaw was minimal. When I called ADA to ask for just a partial refund seeing as we would not be returning I was told absolutely not. Unless you have money to throw away, DO NOT GO TO THESE PEOPLE!!!
