RUN FAR AND FAST! I am offering 1 star because 0 stars is not an option. We had been customers with…read moreState Farm for several years until we had an issue. During a windstorm several shingles were blown off of our roof. Because of a number of factors the damage was not noticed immediately. As soon as it was noticed we reported it. That is when our drama began. We were told that it wasn't from damage but that we had failed to maintain our home (which we had been renovating) and that we probably had an infestation (which we did not). Our home was fine when they were taking our check every month. On investigation I found out that this is a typical ploy of State Farm to avoid paying out claims. I made a few calls and after carefully reading reviews of other agencies my bill decreased by $200 a month and will be less with the new agency even after adding my teen driver than without him at State Farm. That explains why the only positive review came from his son. Lesson learned. ***Update November 2018*** After I cancelled my crap insurance policy they sent me another bill for homeowners for $13 and then said that they were uphappy that we were canceling our insurance?!?
