Andrea is by far my favorite stylist in a long while. She's super skilled and makes sure to ask questions while cutting and truly wants to ensure I'm cool with the outcome. She's smart, experienced, and super kind and easy to talk to while I'm in the chair. I got an eyebrow threading for the first time in foreverrrr too. I like my thick brows but I thought it could be nice to get them shaped. I am so glad I did. The technician (I wish I remembered her name!) respected that I wanted to keep them full, but the shaping she did made me feel so confident and pretty in the end. She even showed me how to use a little makeup to make them pop a bit. I also love that she didn't use any oils or products after threading. I stopped getting eyebrow services because I always seemed to break out from the "calming" oils that were applied post-shaping. I'm sure you can request it if you want, but I'm glad I got it without. I'm really picky about where I get my hair done, and I'm glad I stumbled upon Lovey Beauty Bar. Go schedule yourself an appointment! I was pleasantly surprised by, and wasn't expecting, how cute and trendy it was inside! I ended up there because my normal threading place closes so early since COVID - boo to them! Immediately I was greeted and felt welcomed and well taken care of! They did a spectacular job on my eyebrows and I feel I'm very picky about them. I'm definitely going back! I didn't realize they are a full salon and offer more services than threading. Although my first time here, I think I found my new threading spot! If they are consistently spectacular, I may even branch out to their other services!

I remembered Jackie as being incredibly friendly and talented, but since she wasn't taking new clients, was referred to Alexis. Alexis is fantastic. Easy to talk to and she gave me just the haircut I was looking for. I get a really nice family vibe from Stone Fox. They all seem to get along but also treat their customers like family - in a good way! I love that their products are all natural and organic. I have no problem getting appointments quickly and at times that work for me. They have a super convenient parking lot, too, which is AWESOME for the East Side. I had had a bad experience previously with another stylist who razored my ends to hell, and Sarah said that we would work together to get my hair back to where it should be. And my cut was exactly what I wanted even though I had to go a bit shorter than I would have liked (to get rid of the bad razoring). Sarah and I talked through everything to try to determine what was best for me and my hair - I was a little nervous seeing someone new, but she was very patient with me and took the time that was necessary to make sure I was happy with everything. The brand of hair products that SF carries is amazing. Similar to Aveda, in that they're natural and mostly organic, but they do so much more for my hair than Aveda ever could (and one of the shampoo/conditioner types smells like Thin Mints. THIN MINTS, people). I should probably mention that everyone at SF is super friendly, and that I've always had good interactions with everyone at the salon. I'm glad I made the switch!

Julia has walked me through my hair goals, has given me major chops and minor trims. I trust her implicitly with my hair. Which leads me to the reason for my yelp review: Morgan's review from this week. It hit me as odd considering the long-term, positive relationship I've had with Curly Hair Extraordinaire. Going to Morgan's previous reviews gave me a glimpse into the kind of person she is. She looks for anything to complain about and then wields anger/annoyance/outrange publicly on a site that can harm businesses. But that's okay, because she can put her phone down and feel like she's right! She never has to look at a business owner in the face again after potentially harming them! Ha! Morgan came in for an appointment on the wrong day. That is hard. It's happened to all of us. It's frustrating. Of course there is no way she put it in her calendar incorrectly. The solutions offered to her weren't good enough because driving to Milwaukee and parking is hard (can you sense my sarcasm?). A solution was finally agreed upon and what did Morgan do? Leave the salon, run to yelp to complain, and then cancel the rescheduled appointment. She feels a sense of justice and never has to face the business owner who "wronged" her again. Meanwhile, small businesses get a slam on sites like yelp. Too bad people can't get bad reviews, too. Do better. Anyway, if you want an incredible experience having your curly/wavy/kinky hair cut the correct way by amazing, caring people, do yourself a favor and go to Curly Hair Extraordinaire. Doing the whole walk in thing can be miserable. Instead I go right online and make that appointment for a precision cut. Come right in, wash the hands and phone off and also these days you must wear your mask! Still get the same great service as pre-COVID times despite the new "fashion" requirements. Kris and his team are friendly and just do an all-around great job with the service and the atmosphere. This is the shop! I have been seeing Tiffany for years. Tiffany is quite skilled at cutting my hair. When you walk in the door you are greeted by Tiffanny who offers you a wide variety of beverages. The shampoo is quite the treat and finishes with a fantastic neck masaage. Tiffany gives haircuts and colors. She styles and UPDOS ( special events, weddings,etc.) . She also does hair extensions,body waxing,nails,make up application and other services. I've had my guy nails done once in awhile for job interviews. She does a fabulous job with my nails ( not that I'm an expert in nails) and finishes off the manicure ( why does it have the word man in it) with a fabulous hand masaage. Guys- she's great. Ladies- my wife loves her. Ladies- while your hair sets or whatever you gals do at the hair salon you get to sit in a glorious masaage chair. WOW! All this is done in the beautifully decorated Salon Flo. This salon is such a pleasure to have your hair done in. It's tastefully decorated with antiques and art.
