Did not enjoy my experience. Was charged an extra $60 for "extra bowls" on top of my partial highlight price. My stylist seemed new to hair so I find it insane to pay professional stylist prices. I also left with bleach down the back of my shirt. The vibe was unwelcoming and chaotic. Customers are given a discount if they leave a review and I believe that is why the ratings look better than they should be. read more

I have been going to Salon Blanc for a few years now, partially out of location convenience. But this most recent visit will unfortunately be my last. Without fail, Salon Blanc is always over-booking clients. Most of my appointments I either got a call asking to move it and come in later or I end up waiting forever. It is true that the owner Alex bounces between multiple clients at a time, I have never seen anything like it. This last visit, at one point, the owner Alex was juggling 4 clients at once. The end result being a hair color I didn't ask for, his assistant literally burning my scalp from being rough with a hair dryer, and using the wrong toner in my hair because of my hair stylist not doing it himself. I spend almost 2 years growing out my dyed blonde to rock a more natural look this fall and ended up with a ton of bleached hair. Super unfortunate that I didn't feel heard after stating multiple times I didn't want a lot of blonde and wanted to keep it more natural and healthy. read more

My hair looks good. I found the salon and experience to be loud, rushed, and chaotic. Also when I got home I realized hair die had dropped onto my shirt staining it. I've never had that happen even when coloring my own hair. I felt something wet on my neck and asked for a towel during the dye process but I guess it was too late and they didn't notice. My shirt is ruined and I walked around all day like that. I did message the salon about this before making this review. I did not hear back from them. read more

*if you have ethnic hair or someone with thicker hair read this review. also, this review applies to Alex only, i'm not sure how the other stylists are* GOOD GOD WHERE DO I EVEN START alright, so I booked late afternoon because I am a new mom and have to play with baby sitting to accommodate who watches my baby. two days before my appointment I was called to see if I could come in super early because it was his birthday that day and wanted to leave early. I ended up finding someone to watch my baby so at that moment I saw no problem with it. fast forward to the day of my appointment, I get there and discus what it is I want. it takes him about 40 minutes for him to start working on my hair because it seemed like he wanted to chat with his stylists first and drink his starbucks. once he starts working on me, he keeps saying "you have so much hair" every five minutes to the point where it seemed like it was annoying him. he continued to work, and half way through my foils he got another client. he finished quickly and when I say quickly I mean, he sloppy finished the top of my hair (i had no idea yet). he put the heating lamps on my head and quickly went to his next client and sat her at the station next to mine and started doing her hair and had one of the other girls check my hair half way to see how I was lifting. I feel like that's something so delicate and only he should've been the one to do that. fast forward, my hair finishes processing, the same girl who checked my hair takes me to the sink to wash and do a the olaplex treatment on my hair and to my dang surprise, another girl sits in the chair I was in. YES YOU HEARD THAT RIGHT, HE WAS TRIPLE BOOKED. i'm sitting letting this treatment soak in for over an hour when I know it shouldn't have been that long but the reason I was there for so long was because there was no station for me to go back to LOL he had to finish with one of the girls he was working on and bring her to the sink so he could bring me back and finish. long story short, he finally finishes and you can tell he was embarrassed of his work because he kept wanting me to pull out my phone for the next session and kept saying remember this is only the first session. I paid and left pissed and booked with another hairdresser literally the moment I finished crying in my car. FAST FORWARD: I go to my session with my new hairdresser and she's mortified. her literal words as she does my hair were "i've had to color correct sh*tty box dye jobs, but never have I had to correct another professional's job" she was literally upset for me. she explained I had patches at the root as well as I didn't lift evenly so I had at least five shades ranging from green hues to super yellow hues. it doesn't end here, I had checked in on facebook at his salon because I was excited to get my hair done and one of my friends saw and she booked with him, she was already blonde she only needed roots and he messed her up also. up top I note that this review is for anyone with ethnic hair for this reason right here. coincidence that he somehow does good hair on white folk but can't do hispanic hair? Salon Blanc is fine, they do a fine job and I'm always satisfied with the appearance of my hair. My gripe? I just paid $210 for a routine root touch up. I am very frustrated. According to the receipt, I paid $40 for Olaplex that I wasn't told I was receiving, and didn't ask for (which costs $28 per bottle at Sephora) and then paid $25 for toner that sat on my head for all of 3 minutes. (which I get it. I need toner, not saying it's unnecessary- but should it cost $25?) Furthermore, I paid $45 for a blowout (legit what the receipt says.) When I went in a couple months ago for a full highlight, it was upwards of $250 with a haircut, no color correction or anything. I went a couple months later to get another full highlight and it was $200 without a haircut. Like I said, they do a fine job. I'm not at all mad about how my hair looks. However, the stylists don't chat with you or make you feel all that welcome. The girl who did my highlights makes me feel like a burden to her. She will leave me sitting for an hour while doing my hair, sit in the back and eat her lunch etc. Look, I get it, you have to pay a lot of money to get your hair done well. But that much? I am beyond confused and will not be heading back. The cost of regular highlights was annoying, but I am stunned and cannot get over the fact that I just paid so much for a root touch up. Last thing- If you look at their website, highlights start at $100 yet I paid 2.5x the amount listed. And I have very compliant hair that isn't very long, and isn't very thick. I know starting at $100 means something, but has anyone paid $100 for highlights there or is that false advertising? Additionally, root touchups cost $80 on their website. I don't need to say it again, but I paid $210 for a root touch up. Frustrated. I am young, maybe they take advantage of that, I'm not sure what the deal is. read more

Emma did an amazing job of matching my hair color exactly, and covering my snow white roots so that they blended seamlessly with the rest of my hair. That hardly ever happens! My appointment was for 5:15 for a Keratin treatment. I've never had this before and was excited. I checked in on time and finally after 15 minutes of waiting someone came up to me to say that my stylist was "just finishing up with her previous client." The salon is small. There were 4 other Stylists working. I could see my Stylist was about 10 min into drying someone's hair. That she needed a good 25 to 30 min before she finished. So, not only did I sit there for 20 min but I knew it would be another 25-30 before I was next. So much for making an appointment. I also made an appointment for extensions and needed a consultation. That was supposed to happen after my keratin treatment appt. That Stylist did come up to me and offer to do my consultation first while I waited for my Stylist to finish. However he needed to finish cleaning his area and then his next client did check in while he was cleaning. I decided to leave. You know how sometimes you walk into a place and everyone stares at you with a look of, "what are you doing here?!?" That was the vibe. They have this "mission" on their window about everyone being beautiful and welcome and appreciating blah blah blah. Really? Too expensive, ignored, and disrespected, that's a little closer to how I was treated. No hard feelings. I can go somewhere else and drop some money on extensions and a keratin treatment. read more

I got extensions done from Dani and all I can say is amazing. Since they were out of the color we needed for me, Dani dyed lighter hair to match and it looks flawless. I have received so many compliments and I've only had the extensions for two days. The color, cut and extensions are perfect. Better than I imagined. I highly recommend the salon! This was my first hair appointment since moving to Milwaukee and I was super nervous, but Alex did an amazing job!!! I seriously have never loved my hair more. I got blonde highlights and a cut and it's even better than I imagined. Not only was the service great, but the environment was a very stylish salon in a great location.
