Only in an emergency. I think they bought the supplies for our breakfast at the dollar general across the street. Egg shell stuck to the outside of my fried egg. I order the hash brown plate. What i envisioned was a mound of crisp , seasoned hashbrowns topped with the fried eggs. Instead I received a lukewarm mickey d's style patty... except this one made a mickey d's patty look like a five star hotel. One of the worst breakfasts I've ever had. read more

This restaurant has been closed for awhile. It is now reopened under new management. My first time at Scottie's Diner. So glad we stopped in. As we walked in, we were warmly greeted by staff and server took us directly to the table of our choice. Asked what we wanted for drinks and giving us time to look over the menu. I ordered a hamburger & onions with fries. Superb flavors. Handicapped parking at the far left end with slight graded ramp into outdoor dining area for covered entry into the indoor dining room. Well thought out for wheelchair guests. Very warm and friendly atmosphere created by staff and decor choices. I highly recommend. read more

Food was mediocre at best. Service was slow. We had to ask the waiter to bring utensils. Then ask again for condiments. The owner and her husband were occupying a table close by socializing with another couple that was dining. Owner has long Grey hair, not pulled back, no hat or hair net. She would go up behind the counter, by the grill, around food. It was a dry hot summer day, the floors looked like they haven't been mopped in a very long time. Ate here awhile back because of memories of the old Scotty's I went to as a kid in Decatur , this one is NOTHING like that , food was okay, nothing we couldn't have gotten elsewhere at a much lower price . On our way to Atl off highway 411 we decided to stop at this diner. The place on a sunday afternoon was fairly busy. We managed to get a spot on the patio on a cold afternoon. This diner has both southern cuisine and some Mexican options. We ordered boneless wings and shrimp fajitas. What really stood out was the fresh home cooked flavor. They apparently make their own sauces from home grown peppers. The habanero sauce with pineapple was amazing. We actually liked the wings so much that we ordered another to go. The whole experience was so good and we rarely give 5 stars. Very friendly staff. read more

Small town diner that serves up burgers and other diner fate with a bit of small-town southern hospitality. The Scottie Burger Is a good option. A small slider burger, but big on flavor. Get s few of them,they are small. Add to that some fries and acolddrink and you have the makings office lunch. I would definitely recommend this small town diner. Good food Ina simple atmosphere. This restaurant reminds me of a smaller waffle house. Ordered 2 of their Scotty burgers for .99 each plus the onion rings. They are similar to Krystal burgers, onion and mustard with the small buns. Onion rings tasted ok but could tell they were cooked in old grease. Cheap lunch, pretty good. Breakfast served all day. Reasonable (cheap) prices.. Would come back. read more

Best food on all of 411 from Atlanta to Knoxville. I've eaten here 4 times now. Twice we had breakfast. Everything we had was incredible and I got a simple meal of steak and eggs. The steak was shockingly good, and perfectly cooked. The other 2 times I've been there we had lunch and dinner. These experiences were as good as breakfast. Service is always fast, portions are really good, but not obscenely large. It's easy to blow this place off as a country diner because of its location. That's a huge mistake. 411 is riddled with Subway and other standard fast food, but we go out of our way to add 40 minutes to our commute from Knoxville to Atlanta to eat at Scottie's. We love this place and look forward to eating with them again. I can't recommend them enough. read more

What a great little find! Was out picking up vegetables at the Amish market and used Yelp to find a breakfast spot. It doesn't look like much from the road, and honestly the inside could use some updating as well. But our waitress was friendly and kept us laughing, and the food was hot and fresh! We stopped here for a quick dinner on our way home to GA. The restaurant was small but cute and clean. Our server was nice, attentive and helpful with menu suggestions. Our food was fresh to order & you can sit at the counter and watch them cook your food but we opted for a table. My husband & I ordered the Scottie burgers which were yummy. I had tater tots & he had onion rings which were both great! My daughter had pancakes as they serve breakfast all day. And my son had a chicken quesadilla that was delicious! Our drinks were always kept full and we were given to go cups on request. I would definitely recommend trying this place out for a quick meal. read more

People were extremely nice. Food, well let's just say I wouldn't write Guy Fieri about it. It was good enough for me to take the other half of my sandwich home. My husband felt it was a bit pricy for what we got. They have fresh cut fries in the menu but the waitress recommended the crinkle cut (frozen) kind. The best things I love about this place are the Owner (Rhonda) and the cook (Becky) are the friendliest people you would ever hope to meet. Rhonda greeted my daughter and I as we entered with, "Hi yall! Come in and have a seat." This was with a huge smile. I don't warm up to people that easily. but by the time we left I felt like a family member. The food was very good and very reasonable, cooked exactly the way you ask. I have breakfast there often, but their patty melts and hot dogs (huge) are great too. Even great coffee and iced tea. The second time we went, I noted that Rhonda remembered what we drank the last time and that I liked the breakfast potatoes without salt. I have seen her without help (she does have help, they weren't in yet) handle a restaurant full of customers and never lose that smile. Great energy fills that place all the time. read more

We have been back 4 times. We love the breakfast, delicious and reasonable. For a dinner selection, the flame broiled burger is as good as it gets. Look out Burger King!! The staff is the most efficient and courteous anywhere around, come in and watch how the whole crew interacts. you just don't see happy workers working well together anymore it was very warming to see. Our waitress was so worried my wife would not get her eggs on time with her other food, that she went back in the kitchen and cooked them herself, and everything was awesome! Nice diner & nice dinner. My vehicle broke down on a Sunday and I was fortunate to find Scottie's less than a mile away. The first thing I noticed (sitting at the counter right behind the cook) was a definite hustle to the entire crew. There was running. The chef was definitely in charge and everyone worked hard to support her. The same effort that went into the speed of prep was also evident in the care and attention to detail in the cooking and plating. A good diner is not normally a place for exotic flavors. It's usually good homemade food prepared with care and made to order. That's exactly what I received. An excellent chili dog with mustard, onions, and slaw, I added jalapeños. The dog itself was large and flavorful with a firm bite. Reminiscent of the Hebrew Nationals they used to serve at Costco. Better flavor off the grill vs steamed, might have been deep fried. Homemade slaw went well with the chili, mustard and onions. Also had a taco salad that was served in a bowl that I watched being made for my order. This was an "American" taco salad, nice tomatoes, seasoned ground beef, lettuce, cheese, salsa and sour cream in a fresh crunchy, not so healthy, fried (who goes to a diner for healthy) bowl. A+ on flavor for the actual dog, A for slaw and salad bowl, everything else was good to very good. Kudos to the workers, you'd swear they were all a family of joint owners. I really wanted to like this place but I feel it has some quirks to work out. The wait staff, while sweet, is very inexperienced. I asked if the vegetable medley had carrots, the waitress said no, and when it arrived on my plate there were an incredible amount of carrots in the medley, which I'm allergic to--and why I asked if there were carrots in the medley. They do not have mashed potatoes as a side for their country fried steak, which is the most bizarre thing I've heard. I ordered it with tater tots anyway, though the tots did not come with the food and by the time I got them my steak was cold, and there was barely any gravy on the steak at all. I really wanted to dip my tots in it, but there was barely enough for the steak. My boyfriend's fried fish platter was really good though and a good portion--especially considering he got my veggie medley with carrots. On a side note, I feel they need to downsize their lunch menu...there were way too many options there. I grew up in the restaurant business and too many options can actually be a bad thing unless you are the Cheesecake Factory. They need to cut about 5 items from lunch. And why do you have a hot dog option twice? It's a hot dog with option of chili and slaw if you like. Do you need it on the menus twice? Also, man, if this place decided to deliver they would make a KILLING. The only place that delivers in this town is Pizza Hut, so I feel if ANYONE else had that option they would KILL it read more
