We travel to the area occasionally and this was always a stop for us.....2 years ago, this place was fresh and full of good vibes. Over time we noticed the whole ambiance and quality of service and food decline. Now the purple hair, nose and body piercings, ink and lousy service for overly priced food have taken over. We stopped for the last time and it was $30 for lunch, not a big deal except the Hardees down the Highway is better and about $18 cheaper..... And the Hardee's staff act like they are glad you came. I had eaten there a few times and in the beginning it was excellent. the staff was united and worked together as a team and the gal that managed it gave it her heart and soul day in and out. Over time things started to change the owners were not as pleasant and staff seemed tense around the owners which was unfortunate. The food started to be less and baked goods were too expensive for being a small cafe. read more

We walked in and sat down figuring it might be a bit as it was pretty busy. Two waitresses (and one had to go to the kitchen halfway through us being there as the kitchen was drowning.) We got to our seats before anyone else in our side of the dining room, but were last to get our order taken. Strike one. Wait staff was openly discussing how the kitchen was overwhelmed in front of diners, which I understand the stress of the moment, etc but it isn't a great look or feeling from a guest perspective. We waited for around 30 minutes give or take (which I don't consider to be too bad). We waited that entire time for burgers that were dry. They served my husband and daughter the same soy burgers we got in high school. Strike two. To their credit my salad was really good but that brings up a point of confusion for us. The menu. The salads are listed as different items in each, for example how Zaxbys salads would be, and yet I received a bowl and was pointed to an open salad bar. So besides bowl size difference (evident from watch an interaction with another diner) what's the point?? Charge for a large or small bowl open salad bar, like??? Also menu says breakfast cutoff at 11, while the doors clearly state they don't open until 11. Again, what's the point? I think it's time to update the menu to reflect very clear changes. It was our first time here but I feel it's evident ownership has changed since those menus were printed. The atmosphere felt a bit tense at least for the staff, but it's super cute decor wise. It gives you that old diner/mom and pop shop vibe. All in all I would not come back. If you decide to chance it DO NOT come at regular times. 11-12 and 4-5. Come at odd times like 1-3. The kitchen cannot handle max captivity as we witnessed first hand so those times might be a safer bet. Lastly, it isn't clear whether you are supposed to wait for a check or for your waiter/waitress to bring you a check. We sat waiting a good 10 minutes just trying to see if they'd bring the check or if anyone went up to check out. Strike three (for me). I shouldn't be held captive waiting for overworked wait staff to have a minute to check me out. read more

We come to the area every year and thought wed try a new place for lunch. we waited 1.5 hours for our food only for it to come out full of grease and just genuinely not tasty. I realize the kitchen was working as hard as possible, but if you're catering an entire 20 person birthday party and trying to serve restaurant patrons, why not prepare and have people to cook? There was no apology issued by the wait staff, only frustration that we were asking about how much longer. We couldn't even leave after we ate because it was another 30 minutes for the check. Lastly, there is hardly any air conditioning blowing. So when you do get your greasy food, you'll be sweating while you eat. Again- no apology, no regard for how unhappy everyone in the restaurant was. I just can't believe the money we spent for the experience it was. Never ever again. read more

We had noticed this place before when it was being renovated so today on a drive back from the Cleveland Tn area we stopped in. So glad we did. Very clean and decorative inside. Comfortable seating. My wife and I had the burgers, onion rings, and tea and both agreed that the food was quite good. We shared an ice cream cone and took home some excellent home made pork rinds for later snacking. The restaurant plans to expand their smoker bbq element to includ ribs and brisket. For now they do have pulled pork. Nice staff and prices were reasonable. We also picked up some Amish blueberry jam and canned peaches from the gift shop. read more

Went to eat at this little restaurant, Saturday, September 7 not a problem. So I thought on the way home Sunday morning, September 8. I would stop by there and have breakfast. I walked in at 8:53 AM ordered gravy and biscuit a side of bacon and a sweet tea to go. (Paid for it With a tip!) The waitress handed my sweet tea. I was still waiting on my food at 9:23 AM. Keep in mind there may have been 5 to 7 tables as the most there. At 9:33 I asked the waitress if she could check on my to go order. We was out riding and stopped in for dinner. Very limited menu and a you seat yourself. Indoor and outdoor seating both. I ordered the Steelwheel pound burger and onion rings with a coke. The drinks are all the same size and all in small cups. The owner should realize the smaller cups will drive the waitress's crazy with refills. Time went by and after about 30 minutes I stopped the waitress and inquired about our orders. I told her it has been .30 minutes and We are on motorcycles and the sun is going down on us. She explained they only have one fryer and it's a small one so the fries and onion rings are coming out slow. Fifteen more minutes went by (total of 45 now) and finally our orders showed up. My burger was just as described but the meat wasn't seasoned in any way so it was really a let down, kinda ehhhh! I am a pickle lover especially when on a burger and the pickles were terrible. I would suggest to the cook to order more of a "bread and butter" pickle. I was however also disappointed in the amount of onion rings I got. Only 7 in the basket and they wasn't that big. Waitress never came back to check on us for refills after delivering our food which was a disappointment. This place is new and I have high hopes the owner will get it together because that area needs a place to go. He needs better menu options, it is to limited. A bottle of burger seasoning isn't that much and can be bought from any warehouse supplier or even add some salt and pepper and let it simmer into the meat while cooking. Also by the looks of the building a person would assume it is a 50's style restaurant but it isn't. We will ride back one day soon and try it again. read more
