It IS off the beaten path but IS so worth the effort to get to. The drive there is through some of the most beautiful countryside you'll see in Kentucky's scenic Bluegrass region. We were helped by Ben and Lyndsey the owners. Immediately we felt as if we were family -- honestly. They helped select the right watercraft for us and we had a fabulous time. The scenery is amazing and Stoner Creek is truly away from it all. It meanders through agricultural land so it's incredibly quiet and peaceful -- oh, and did I mention beautiful. You've simply GOT to make your way to Fryman's -- a great place to boat, fish, camp, relax and enjoy. Thanks Ben & Lyndsey

That is when I found this hidden gem. I am glad I did. It took a bit of driving to find this place, but was so worth it. I had planned an Unofficial Yelp Event here and just so happened that the weather was perfect. The water was calm and nippy. Such a great day to be out and one with nature. The lauching fee here is $5. You can rent a kayak all day here for $15. How cheap is that? The lady that runs the shop is extremely nice and a good talker. She told me a bit about the history of the place while we waited for my fellow Yelper to show up. Yes that was singular. Only one person showed up for the UYE. It seems alot of people don't like to do physical activity on holidays. LOL Oh well. I loved it. The day was peaceful and relaxing. I think we paddled 5 miles up river and then 5 miles back. It was a perfect day with lots of great scenery. They have an area for a camp ground as well as a store to buy/rent stuff. I am a huge fan of it. If you want to get out into nature and are near here. Stop in. I am sure you will love it. I know I did.

Little pricey given the condition of the boats, they were definitely worn but sounds like they had just upgraded all the motors on all the boats. Everything worked as it should and we got where we needed to go and overall had a great time on the lake.

Lots of butterflies and squirrels. We managed to see a Heron fishing and flying. That made the trip in my opinion. We walked around the lodge. Not too much to see in there. Looks like a decent enough place to stay. Staff wasn't very friendly but I guess you can't expect much out of government employees having to work a holiday.

I own a 34' cruising boat that is too large to be trailered. I had service work performed on the…read morediesel engine fuel system of my boat by Holiday Point Marina in November 2017 just prior to winterizing the boat against winter. During the recommission of the boat in April 2018, the engine would not start. The problem is the fuel system is not sealed properly and is sucking air into the system. I am able to start the engine with the use of starting fluid, but this engine has never required starting fluid in 4 years and over 3200 miles of cruising. Upon learning of the issue, I contacted Phil (Manager) and described the issue, he told me to just run the boat back down and they would take a look at it. I expressed my concern of running the boat 6 hours and locking thru a lock and dam system on a boat with a known fuel problem. I asked since the mechanic lives only 20 minutes from the boat, could he come to the boat to troubleshoot this issue. The answer I received was NO. I asked Phil to repeat his answer because I couldn't believe my ears. Again he said "No." There was no room for discussion. I asked him if he has heard of Active Captain. CLICK! The phone line went dead. (Active Captain is a listing of Marinas, Anchorages and Local Knowledge. This listing is updated and given a rating by the boating community. I was hoping for far better service warranty after paying close to $1000 for a service and the engine doesn't start correctly after only six hours running time AND the only way that they would take care of the issue is to put my boat and possibly my life in peril by running a boat with a known faulty engine thru a lock and dam system on the Ohio River. I had no safe choice than to hire another mechanic to repair the botched job received from Holiday Point Marina.
