Bought a dump trailer that had missing grease fittings from the factory and it rusted. Now it will not dump and SR1 won't take any responsibilit. They want $2,000 to fix it. I bought a Diamond C utility dump trailer from Scott's, built it on the Diamond C website and chose Scott's in Turner ME as the selling dealer. Billy at Scott's was excellent with all the details. Scott's has some Diamond C trailers in stock so you can get an idea of pricing. Delivery was quoted as 12 weeks but actual was less 8 weeks. No surprises at pick up, my trailer was sitting out front and ready to go. Billy supplied a 30 day Maine trailer registration and all the paperwork for Mass sales tax. Diamond C quality on the dump trailer is excellent, lots of little details that are all A+. I was impressed to see Scott's had paint marked all the wheel studs to show they'd been torqued and to give a visual indication if they start loosening. I absolutely recommend Billy at Scott's, as well as Diamond C trailers. My purchase experience was flawless. My utility trailer was rear ended and in need of repair. I called Scott's Recreation and they asked me to bring it to them so they could assess it and provide an estimate. After my 40 min ride to Turner the service manager, Joe, took a look and said they could fix it. I booked an appointment and requested a written estimate for the insurance company. After several days I called Joe requesting the estimate. He promised to provide it that day. After several more days I called again and he once again promised it that day. My wife called the third time and got the same lie. The fourth call he avoided and never called back. Don't go to Scott's Recreation!! They care nothing about their customers. read more

Scott's Recreation doesn't stand behind their products. We purchased a defective air conditioner for our RV from the Manchester location, and called the same day to report the air conditioner doesn't work. Their response was that it was installed incorrectly (you literally just plug it in) and they don't take returns, effectively telling us "too bad, so sad, call the manufacturer. Sebastian actually said to think of Scott's Recreation like Amazon. I would, except at least Amazon stands behind all the products and will at least refund you if an item is defective. Scott's Recreation is keeping our money. TLDR: Purchased a $1300 air conditioner, received a $1300 fan and Scott's Recreation doesn't care. The WORST customer service and SLEEZY business tactics! They held my money, almost 4k for TEN days. Tried to return a tractor attachment snow blower after it came loose while plowing, bolts got caught in the tire chains and nearly killed me because it was not attached correctly! While returning the snowblower attachment I decided to buy a used ATV. It worked for an hour and now they won't do anything about it! I started my search at a dealer located in nearby North Conway who sells orange tractors. After waiting for over two weeks to get pricing, (and to this day still waiting) and after multiple attempts to contact the sales person that I talked with. I came frustrated and gave up. I heard good things about Scott's Recreation from a friend in Turner just over an hour away from home who sells TYM tractors. He bought his tractor from them last year and loves it. I didn't know much about TYM, but after some research I quickly learned that they have been around for over 70 years, and have built tractors for other companies and have been sold under other various tractor brands. Scott's Recreation lists no haggle pricing and availability on their website. After looking at their large inventory online, I took a trip to Scott's. I was greeted by the friendly receptionist, and awesome Labrador Retriever at the front desk, and was quickly introduced to Matthew Massey. He is fairly new to the sales team, but has been working at Scott's in the shop prepping and putting together tractors. He was awesome to work with and I was impressed with his knowledge of tractors. He was great about letting me take several models out for a test spin. I am very happy with my T574HC, and my experience with Matt and Scott's recreation was enjoyable. If you are in the market for a new tractor, trailer or recreational vehicle that you can think of, I highly recommend checking them out. read more

I had some issues with lack of communication that caused delays in me getting the tractor. One salesperson in particular caused these issues, while the rest of the employees certainly did their best. In particular I am pleased with the finance department as well as the general manager. In the end, I am satisfied with the steps that were taken to rectify the situation. Buyer beware holds true with this dealership. Purchased TYM T224 tractor from them less then aa year ago. Tractor has broken down three times in less than a year! This third time the 4wd shaft sub seal to transmission blew out as well as the cooling fan for input shaft for transmission. This repair does not require transmission case to be split or opened. All work is external. I reached out to them since its SUPOSED to be covered under warranty for the repair work. Thier mobile tech reached out to me and pretty much waisted my time by asking the same questions, requesting pictures so he could order parts and not clear on answering questions when asked. This went on for over a week. When pressed on the question if the parts were order. The response was no I don't know what it needs for parts. Needs to come to the shop at YOUR cost (that cost being over $500.00 one way for them to pick up the tractor) I sent my sale rep an email Joe Brissette questioning the techs decision, knowledge on repair work since he never came to the job to look actually look at it. I was told the tech was very good at what he does. My email would be passed on to the service manager Nic Black and I would hear back from him. This was three weeks ago. REALLY Scotts! Your level of customer service after the sale is a 1 out of a 1-10 scale. standing behind a 2-year warranty is 0. Follow thru on communication is a 1 at best. But You'll get a 10 plus for taking advantage of the fact transportation is not covered under warranty to make extra money. Reminder to anyone reading this. 1) Repair work all external for transmission. 2) Amount of time to do repair work approximately 2hrs and $145.00 in parts 3) Have mobile tech who refused to actually come to job site to view damage but instead states tractor needs to go into shop for repair. This call should have been made after a tech came to job site and did an on-site visual assessment.4) Taking advantage of the transportation clause under warranty to gain extra profit. 5) An overall level concern, care, or stand by the quality of product they sell to their customers, not to mention standing by the warranty. Is not part of this business platform or top priority to them. I will end this by saying had the tech come to the job site which is his job and viewed the damage and said it needed to go to the shop. Shown me why and explained why for a 2 hour or less job. I might not have written this, but from what I've experienced so far from Scotts in Turner Maine I felt the need to. I spent 12 k on a dump trailer that took 4 months to receive. My diamond c dump trailer arrived with runs in the paint, not derated as I asked, dead battery, dented front box , stickers missing, and scratches all over. They didn't want to do anything for me and stated it was a piece of construction equipment and I was make a big deal over nothing. If you are considering buying a TYM tractor from this place and do not know how to turn a wrench look out, tractor was delivered and had to adjust the clutch and e brake before one hour of use, this tractor was not prepped for delivery at all arrived dirty, packaging was still in place on the three point hitch, and the splines were rusted on the pto shaft, so had to clean that up before sliding the shaft on for my post hole digger, this machine was not gone over at all. As for customer service after delivery Ya ok they seem to think everything after delivery is the customers responsibility and want you to bring it back to throw a few cable ties on to cure the issue of their inability to perform minor installations. Done done and done and we were going to go back and buy a trailer, but not now you are better off ordering one and unboxing the unit yourself. You can purchase the third function kit for half the price and install it correctly and not wait a week. read more

This is in my opinion a horribly run company, and the quality of product is sub par to be nice. I bought a brand new 2020 Forest River Cherokee Wolf Pup 16BHS from them on 12/26/2019 and have had nothing but problems. I want to start by saying they say the do a delivery inspection when the get the campers. First problem arose when I tried to de-winterize my camper the drain in the shower was not put in properly and leaked water all over my floor (I later talked to DJ at scotts and he said that didn't surprise him), I brought it to them and they fixed it. Second issue is The toilet did not work, the plunger didn't return to the closed position, they had to replace the whole toilet. along with the toilet the rock guard in the front was coming off the camper, I also had a leak in the sink when I brought it down for the toilet that they did not fix. I bring the camper home and come across more issues such as the sink still leaking, the light over the bed doesn't work, and the handle on the cupboard just came off upon opening it. I called Scotts, and DJ told me I didn't buy the top of the line camper (so i'm guessing he meant I should expect this to happen). I then talked to the owner of the company Reid and asked him to come and get the camper because I wasn't driving it down their a third time wasting my gas, he told me he doesn't do that for free. I gave them multiple chances and they had their money so basically said F you to me. I would never return their for sales or service. I'm bringing it to whited RV for now on. Scotts is a rip off and a poor business man. HORRIBLE. read more
