I did not expect to write a his review. I went in for a last minute massage tonight while my kid was at baseball practice. I called in advance and they were accommodating. I will start by saying, this was one of the BEST massages of my life. My lower back and body has been really sore lately and I was so happy with the pressure and attention to detail the masseuse offered. She really gave me a great massage and even did hot stones (I didn't ask for them, but this was a great). The problem, and why I'm not sure if I'll ever go back: after the massage, I gave her my tip-- I generally tip 20 percent of I get good service regardless of if I'm at a restaurant, bar, or getting a massage or whatever. In the his case, my 90 minute massage was $100, so I had ed her a $20 bill. She actually said this word for word: "I want more! This is very hard work" I have never been asked by anyone at any establishment I've been to leave more of a tip than I chose to leave. I was in shock as I just went from a very satisfied and happy customer to feeling awkward and obligated in a matter of seconds. I ended up giving her $10 more, and I wish I hadn't. I honestly didn't have words to tell her as I was still ing some what it a dog post massage. If the owner reads this, or you were the owner giving me my massage: would you rather me come back over and over again and tip 20 percent (as I was planning to do because I was so stoked on the actual massage), or would you rather me never come back again because I'm now concerned that I have to deal with an employee asking me for more money after I had already paid $120? This would be 5 stars if she had just happily taken my tip and said thank you. I would have been back without a doubt. Maybe I will give them another shot, but I'm leaning towards a one and done. It is really helpful to have a place you can walk in to get a good massage in Scotts Valley. Unlike another walk-in establishment in the area, they give you straightforward pricing and you feel safe and that they are trustworthy. read more

Decent enough Chinese massage - fairly rough and fast. But I will never go back. The masseuse, Lucy, politely but firmly haggled with me about the tip, pushing for what turned out to be a 31% tip. I have been a happy customer over 5 years. When I have pain from over doing it at the gym or back pain this is where I go. Normally I don't like deep tissue work, but they fix problems with the appropriate pressure. It is clean, but not fancy. This is the best deal in town. read more

Well I found this quaint little place in Scotts Valley where I found myself pleasantly received by their masseuse Ula. She was very informative and very helpful with my stress points. She speaks fluent English so communication was perfect. I really enjoyed having her as my masseuse and plan to be back very soon. I look forward to continuing her services at this place. Scotts Valley Massage is just down the street from me so I've gone there several times. The shop is clean and quiet, and Ula always gives me a nice, professional massage. Additionally, she speaks English pretty well, so you can easily communicate what muscle groups need attention and whether you want more or less pressure. The price is reasonable as well. read more

I knew it was a bad sign when I entered and the masseuse was getting up wiping the sleep from her eyes and clearly a bit sleepy still. Bad sign number two was pay first. Just saw Amy...... wonderful massage..... booked a 30 minute just to try her out. Definitely going back...... she released a lot of tension in my upper back and neck. Very limited english here. But the massage was not bad, and the price was great. The room was a bit warmer than I like, and some of the techniques for deep tissue were a little off based on what I've had elsewhere. There was also too much included in this massage that was not deep tissue (like 2 minutes dedicated to belly rubs) which was a bit disappointing. That and my 90 minute massage ended 5 minutes early, so that was deducted from the tip. But at the end of the day, the prices are the best around. So I think it's a solid 4, I would plan to return. read more

Worst massage I have received. I made an appointment for 90 minutes and during the massage I changed it to 60 minutes. The lady jerked my body around in these weird circular motions and used way too much oil. I felt worse when we walked out than when I started. read more

Personally, I really like this place. Is it the best massage of all time? No. Is it very good and a terrific value? Yes. The ladies aren't communications specialists, but they know how to make a tired body feel better. And they're very kind. Note: I tip on my what the massage should cost, not what they charge. I had such a great experience at this salon. The staff was friendly and helpful and my massage was excellent. My massage therapist, LiLi, was awesome. Her room was very clean, as was the rest of the salon. I loved the warm colors. Very relaxing. I will definitely recommend them to family and friends. They were busy, but I didn't feel rushed at all. An acquaintance suggested this new massage parlor. I guess it depends what you're looking for. I've had effective massages by well-trained and experienced masseuses. That isn't what I got at Scotts Valley Massage. Lili was welcoming and friendly, is obviously trying to make it in this country, and I wish her well, but her massage left me amazed that I didn't have bruises. Don't get me wrong, I like a good firm massage, but mostly I want one that leaves my muscles relaxed and flexible. Instead, I got an extremely painful and ineffective massage. My muscles burned afterward, and weren't a bit relaxed. Then, she had the nerve to complain that my tip wasn't big enough. I accommodated her, knowing I wouldn't be back. read more

I just had the worst massage of my life here. (I'd gone before and it had been pretty good). I asked for a 60 minute full body massage, and this gal literally spent 10 minutes rubbing the same area on one shoulder, with the same repetitive motion! I hate to speak up during a massage (thinking they'll get their groove on) but finally I said Um, ok you can move to another area now- so she did the same thing on the other side! So I said I want a full body massage, you know- arms, hands, legs, feet and she said "ok thank you" and proceeded to rub only the left side of my back for another 10 minutes! She finally did my arms and hands and legs very briefly, did not do my feet at all! Then to top it off, after signing my credit card slip and heading home, I get a call that I wasn't charged, and they wanted me to drive back to pay them. I checked my credit card and I HAD been charged, but then they had reversed it, so they are expecting me to go back and pay again. I told them I would as soon as I can, maybe not today (I'm not planning on not paying)... then I get a call from their bank, saying they said my card had been declined! Which it definitely hadn't . Heading back now with cash minus the tip to close out this unpleasant exchange. Stay clear of this business! read more

I had a fantastic one hour massage from Sandy, a co-owner, she listens and adjusts her style, pressure, technique when asked and she also asks YOU. I have had lots of massages and hate it when you say too much but they ignore you and keep grinding away. Very classy place. Clean, and well appointed decor makes it feel like your at a nice place.
