1st spot we stopped @ once we touched down in Virginia Beach.. We was able to watch the Cowboys game on one of their many TV's they had on the wall. We sat @ the bar; I didn't get any pics of the booth seating, but they have lil' TV's on the wall within the booth; I thought that was pretty cool. But this spot was very good and food was bomb + their drinks was Sooooo good, and wasn't expensive like you'll find anywhere else. But everyone in the restaurant was talking with one another while watching the game, We had a ball. If we're ever down this way again... We're definitely coming back to this spot !!!!! read more

Quincy is a horrible server. I ordered steamed shrimp and it took over 40 mins to come out. It was 3 of us who came in here. When she finally came to the table two of us ordered our food and got drinks. She took over 20mins to come back to the table and take the third persons order. she didn't come back without someone getting her attention. It's just a disappointment when the whole point for coming was the shrimp and it took the entire time we were here to come. The bartenders continuously were on their phones and the establishment is not busy there's no reason for this. And I will NOT be coming back. read more

Stopped by while waiting for vehicle service nearby. Glad we stumbled on a time killer! Hopped in around 1pm on a Saturday and it was busy but not overwhelming. When we walked in, there wasn't anything letting us know what to do. But the person behind us walked in and sat down, so we did the same. Only took a couple minutes to get menus and the bartender served us. We order cheesy tots, pretzel sticks, and a couple drinks. Food was hot and was a good size. It is borderline bar food, but I'd say just slightly better and tasted good. The drinks were tasty too and the services was above average for a bartender-only area. Overall, I'd stop by again for a layover or a chill spot. Not sure I'd make this a full meal option though, since it didn't seem very vegetarian friendly. read more

As much as I come here, I thought it might be time to write a review. This is a great locals bar where everyone knows your name. Very chill with GREAT staff and good bar food. They have HH and a late night menu. They have a cook in the back that is doing some awesome specials. We had the Caprese wrap and Taco Dip today. Freaking delicious!!! A good dip to chip ratio which is super important. The bartenders are great and always have a smile. Heather, Emily, Brandon, Brian and Amanda are great at their jobs and always have a smile. My drink is never empty. They have 36 tvs!! Even the booths have their own tv's. They have a pool table and golf game. There is plenty of parking. I have tried other things on the menu and they are all good. Quesadillas....good. Tater tots....good. SQX Melt....good. Wings....good. Fish Tacos....good. They even have salads. Something for everyone. And they have nightly specials....Wednesday is $2 beef tacos. Trivia is on Tuesdays. A good local bar....nothing fancy. I am even comfortable going in by myself. This is a COVID-19 related review that I hope to revise once things are "normal" again. I came here on a Saturday afternoon two weeks ago to have drinks after a day on the water. Unfortunately, their make-shift Phase 2 outdoor seating isn't large and the tables were close together. Since there wasn't room outside, we gathered inside. When we walked in with our masks on we were quickly told "oh we don't do the whole mask thing here." I was already tense with this being my first time inside a public space and the nonchalant attitude really kept me on edge for the rest of my experience. My drink was fine and the service was speedy and friendly. I declined on ordering food, because I wasn't feeling comfortable. Unfortunately, I just can't justify anything higher than two stars and can't recommend this location during the pandemic since they weren't following the guidelines. ---- Update: So a friend of mine that was with me during this visit reached out and asked me to reconsider my review because the staff are being punished. That was not my intention. Everyone is learning and trying to adapt to this weird new normal, including myself. I can't imagine how difficult these times are for business owners. However, I stand by my rating and review of the experience and so I haven't updated anything above. I will update to add more context that he provided. He told me that the server who made that comment is his personal friend. He said that her telling him that was as a friend, not as a customer. That doesn't change the fact that none of the staff that I interacted with were wearing masks of their own. He also pointed out that half the tables had been removed and they had every other booth blocked off. He felt like they were following the guidelines. I don't feel like their patio seating allowed for six feet between parties when people were sitting in the seats, but I didn't spend much time outside and most certainly didn't spend too long staring down trying to measure it with my eyes. This was my first time at this location, so I didn't know that there were physical changes to the inside. He finally added that "How comfortable you were has nothing to do with how they are doing business." I recognize that for many people, servers/bartenders not wearing or encouraging masks isn't a big deal. It was my choice to go out knowing that it was probably more than I was ready for after a few months of staying at home. If you're more comfortable than me, skip my review and read another. But for people like me who are more cautious and are being selective with their dining/drinking experiences while we are in the pandemic- this was my experience during Phase 2. read more

My initial impression was that this was a place for the locals. While that is true, it is still a good place for non-locals. Larger than expected men, decent beer options and plenty of televisions around, including one at each booth. The appetizer wings are a great size to share, and good flavor options. Virginia Beach, Virginia --- If you like watching sports on TV, you "may" like "Scotty Quixx". Nearly wall-to-wall TV's (nearly 40 of them) clutter the walls & glare at you from every direction. Located in a shopping center with free off-street parking is a plus. Unfortunately, the atmosphere of the bar itself had a "business" feel & not enough "neighborhood" feel for me. Personally, I found the bartenders to be impersonal - unless you were a customer in their elite circle. Not even a friendly smile from my bartender when I ordered OR when my beer was delivered. The customers seemed willing to interact & smile, which was a plus. "Scotty Quixx" is not my kinda bar. Not liking TV or watching sports has a lot to do with it, but mostly there are too many local bars with staff that smile at all the customers, not just their pals. read more

Every time I come to Scotty Quixx the food is AMAZING!! I started coming when my husband and I moved across the street, we loved the neighborhood feel and after he passed from cancer they really rallied and made me feel loved.. since then I've been coming for football and Matt never disappoints on the wings!! Best I have ever had!! Brian, Lindsey and Brandon are the best bartenders around town.. so kind and definitely friendly.. I love this establishment and the crowd is also super fun on Sundays for football.. highly recommend!! read more

Meh on sitting in this hotbox today. Y'all need to pump some ice cold air into this building with the quickness. This menopause boy needs that icicle type feeling to exist while sipping and snaking. Girly and me got some loaded French fries with a bunch of good stuff on top. It was bomb for sure. Girly drank three Michelob Ultras so she isn't a reliable source on the quality of the food, but we both gobbled those loaded fries down with passion. Stay away ! I was recently told this is now on a blacklist of bars to avoid for Military service members . This is the worst bar I have been to EVER. I went in sat at the bar it was 20 min before I could get a bartender. Then with a snooty attitude , she asked can I help you? Without offering a menu or mentioning anything! So I I asked for a draft beer, bud , they had to Replace keg . 30 minutes after I arrived I was served a beer finally. Wasn't even that crowded. One of new fave places to watch and game and enjoy some comfort food. Good atmosphere. Wide of range of guests that come through and have a good time. They gave have trivia nights with good vibes TVs at the booths and the widest selection of hot sauces I've seen in a restaurant. The CaJohn's Black Cherry Vanilla Chipotle-Habanero is fireeeee. The Buffalo chicken tater tots are good af. Couldn't finish. The Buffalo chicken grilled cheese tho, not that good. The bartenders are chill and very attentive even on a busy day. Great experience here, the waitress was very pleasant, even though I was just having coke. (I was the DD). We got the wings after going to a brewery. The wings were the hot with Lendys sauce. The waitress asked if we wanted the wings seared on the grill. The wings came out and the taste was very good, among the best wings I have had in Hampton Roads. Searing on the grill was a little better than usual. I would highly recommend it. At the bridneck Scottie's it was not crowded and they do serve fat tire ( a must with any wings). For a non crowded " joint". And a place to watch a game in peace, this may become my go to option. Plus the Red Sox won the game that we were watching so it is good luck. read more

Stopped in to check out this place for the second time since they opened. Cold beer for sure but the staff was awful. My beer sat empty for 10 minutes and no one took the time away from their personal conversations and texting to even see if I needed anything. Well at least 'til I dropped my money on the bar and then the "I guess" manager said have a good day. Whatever dude! Maybe if you and your staff did your jobs you wouldn't have had 6 people at the bar and 2 were staff! I was hoping thing got better in the past 6 month but evidently not. Unfortunately for the owners I was checking out the place for a party of 20-30 people. Sorry, won't be back here again. Good luck on the expansion. read more

Cool little place although for some reason I like the Va Bch Blvd location better. They have expanded into the next suite here, added a couple of pool tables, and video games. Lots of HD TVs for all the games, and each table on a wall has its own small HD TV to watch. Same good menu as the original location. While away on business, I decided to grab dinner here on a Saturday night hoping it wouldn't be crazy so I could watch some football. I don't know how to sum it up but it kinda was busy, it was active, and it was enthusiastic. Everyone was in such a good mood. It felt like a college bar mixed with a local suburb bar. There was a mix of crowd from what seemed like 21 to 75 years old. I sat at a small two-top table and was waited on kindly and promptly. I tried their "Tuna" Quesadillas which were actually really good! The bartender guided me to a local IPA (I think it was called El Guapo) and it matched perfectly. The games were all on and the crowd wasn't crazy but as it should be on a Saturday. I was surprised at how much I liked this place and I would definitely recommend it to any local or out-of-towners. read more
