They are redoing the street so it is currently blocked off. Even if you park on a different street, it isn't a problem to walk to the coffee shop. You can appreciate the historic charm from your first step in. They have a coffee bar with tables, as well as an extended side that has ample seating and table. It is a very inviting space where you can sit for a spell and enjoy your coffee or work. It's also a fabulous spot to sit with fiends to catch up. They do sell local art and other cute finds throughout their lovely shop. They do have a little area outside that you can sit as well. And even a bench area beside the building. The staff is lovely. Super friendly and very efficient at allowing you to get your order quickly. There is an interactive post it display while waiting for your order. The drinks were fantastic and the menu is extensive. The Americano was absolutely delicious!! Tons of syrup options and various creamer options. The bakery options are delicious and they even have gluten free. They do have a cold case of drink options and even local ice cream. For sure worth a stop if you are in the area. I would even go out of your way to visit this gem of a place. On a cold, rainy, gray Friday. On my birthday. After lunch. When I could absolutely go for some mid-day dessert?! SAY LESS. I walked into Jamie Bakes just after lunchtime and found the small bakery stocked with cases full of baked goods ready to go. From cakes to cookies and everything in between--Jamie most definitely Bakes. After a few minutes of browsing, I landed on the only decision that truly made sense: a Birthday Cake Stuffed Cookie complete with rainbow sprinkles. I mean...it was my birthday, after all. This thing was MASSIVE--big, round, and stacked tall with stuffing, frosting, and festive sprinkles like it understood the assignment. I'm pretty sure Jamie Bakes these specifically for birthdays like mine. Thanks, Jamie. $5.99 later, I was walking out with my birthday treat safely packaged in a to-go box and a spontaneous birthday picnic plan forming in my head. I discovered there was a lighthouse nearby and decided that would be the perfect place to enjoy my sweet treat. I found my spot, added a little "Happy Birthday" pick to the top (because we're committing to the moment), snapped a few photos, and dug in. And let me tell you--Jamie didn't just bake, Jamie delivered! The cookie was fantastic! Moist, chewy, and perfectly soft--no dry, crumbly nonsense here. The stuffed center had that cake-pop-like texture and flavor that made every bite feel extra indulgent. And the frosting with the rainbow sprinkles? Sweet, but not overwhelmingly sugary--just the right balance. My only complaint? That Jamie Bakes over two hours away from my house, because I would absolutely be making this a regular stop if it were closer. This is the kind of place that makes it very easy to justify "just one more" treat. Also worth noting--their hours are surprisingly generous for a bakery, which makes it easy to swing by when most bakeries would be closed. Jamie really said, "I'll be here when you need me," and I respect that. All in all, Jamie Bakes gave me the perfect birthday dessert moment. If you find yourself in Havre de Grace, do yourself a favor and stop in--because when Jamie Bakes, you should probably treat yourself.

I was checking the longitudes of both places, and the Easton restaurant was slightly east of this Rising Sun coffee shop. As it turns out and amazing coincidence, I just wrote my 2 most eastern Yelp reviews in the state of MD. Never had one further east of these locations in MD like in Elkton, Ocean City, Salisbury, etc. I visited Rise N Grind Cafe on a Friday in September 2022. I was going up to Newark, DE to visit my parents for a night at a hotel for a mushroom festival in Kennett Township on that Saturday. I managed to get a parallel parking right in front of the store in the small downtown Rising Sun. I wifi at this cute coffee shop as I had some work on that Friday. I had a delicious coffee, and I think a tuna salad sandwich, which was delicious. The staff was friendly too, and they were efficient. I comfortably got my work done. Unfortunately, I didn't take a pic of my food, but I took pics of other aspects of the cafe itself. If I ever end up back in Rising Sun, I'd come back here!

I didn't think the Hainanese chicken and rice was worth it. Seemed like the chicken was boiled which is just not my cup of tea. It's a good option if you're looking for something very mild though. My friend wasn't impressed with the BBQ pork dish, and I'll have to go back for the chicken noodle and breakfast options. The summer roll seems pricey, but it's actually for two quite large rolls. Would be a nice light lunch in and of itself. The salads looked quite nice, there was a Caesar and a garden option. Chocolate croissant was good. Cake was solid. It's a bit pricey in my opinion, but we're fresh out of better options around here so they can mark up a bit, and you'll get a much better meal than at the subway across campus for about the same price. Overall, if you're at all adventurous in your cuisine, I recommend this place. And if you're not adventurous you can try their pizza :)

It's evident that this is a place that desires to create community. I believe the owner came in while I was there and it was evident she's very customer forward. The Comfy Cup, hosts a TON of cool events, one of which I am planning to attend tomorrow, a silent book club, but that's not all, there's live music, a cake decorating event and more! SC, NC, and now MD - I have never had a bad interaction with any 7 Brew employee. They have always been helpful, upbeat, and hard working! This shop has been dealing with a lot of local complaints because of the traffic and lines. It's the first location in Maryland, and I don't think anyone doing the traffic study had any idea how popular it would be. Owners have been personally addressing issues and trying to encourage customers to be more considerate/understanding of locals and not blocking streets/driveways in lines leading up to the shop. Honestly, they're going beyond what a lot of shops might have done. That said, I avoid them on the weekends, but a pre work Friday coffee is usually quick in and out. Once in line within the 7 Brew property, lines move fairly quickly and staff help with questions about the menus. It would help if people reviewed the menu or had it open on their phone before pulling in, but people are going to people... Coffee drinks are delicious. A really solid selection of sugar free options, dairy alternatives, and non-coffee drinks if you want more of an energy drink vibe or even no caffeine at all.
